Born in the year 1682, he is known as one of the most hallowed martyrs in Sikhism & as a highly religious person. The history regarding this man is very rich and I'd suggest everyone to read it. Yes, he is the famous warrior who fought with the Afghans to defend the Golden Temple & got decapitated during the battle, still continued fighting, slaying his enemies with his head in one hand and his sword in the other. There's a temple in the periphery of Golden Temple that marks the spot where his head landed after defeating the enemies(according to a legend). So here in this shot, we have huge distribution ceremony of Birthday cake going on. Large cake is cut and being distributed. It was a bit hard to get the clear shot of this one, considering all the people crossing the street. Also, I wanted to capture the all natural expressions of this doggo, so had to keep a distance. What's more interesting, the streets are all clean all the time! Like when do they even clean the streets when everyone is moving there all the time. It's crazy, right? Maharaja Ranjit Singh is an important figure in Sikh history as he was a leader of Sikh Empire in the early 19th century. He is popularly known as 'Sher-e-Punjab' or 'Lion of Punjab' About this place - it is always crowded, many people are constantly arriving and many are leaving. I loved how spacious this street is, to accommodate such large population! Before this visit when I had come here, it was not even here! I loved the transformation of the cramped streets. Now the streets have more of a modern look! At night, this place looks lit! It's not my first time here, but this place has a beautiful kind of welcoming vibes. It has a ton of rich history related to Sikhism. I'll be posting a few photos that I captured during my recent visit and I hope I don't hurt any religious sentiments. It was such an amazing exposure to street photography for me, I had camera with me all the time! I was excited to click photos that I've always wanted to click after watching YouTube videos of other photographers. In this pic, we can see a street sign showing the directions to various places, it points the way to the Golden Temple(Shri Harmandir Sahib), a pious place where countless devotees come, pay due respects and seek the blessings.
