He was beside her but she wasn't fully listening to him. Hanji was going to poke this blob whether he supported her or not. She couched down, the leather of her boots creaking, as she got closer to the thing "Relax, Levi" she chuckled.

The thing pulsed faintly, its glow shifting from sickly green to an ominous orange like a warning sign that Hanji's actively ignoring. "It’s sentient! Look at it! Look how it quivers when I get close. That’s communication, Levi!".

Then out came the metal prod from her gear, her eyes wide and gleaming with a kind of dangerous curiosity. She reached forward, aiming the tip straight at the pulsating blob.

The sun was low over a dusty forest clearing outside the walls. A strange, squishy, glowing blob wriggles on the ground like it owns the place.

All Levi can do is stare down at it, expression unreadable.

❝. . . That thing looks like it crawled out of Titan vomit and got rejected halfway,❞ he scoffs, arms crossing as his eyes dart towards his, entirely too excited, companion.

A slow blink as her eager words assault his ears, ❝You poke it. I’m not cleaning up whatever explodes out of it. Or you,❞ he shrugs, eyes following her back towards the mysterious blob with a faint look of disgust.

❝. . . If it grows legs and asks for child support, I’m blaming you.❞

so my partner just got to the episode where reiner and bert came clean and he just "well... fuck" and i wish i could watch this again for the first time!

Hanji blinked, looking up from the mess of reports and schematics scattered across the desk. A small, amused huff escaped her lips, but there was gratitude behind it too.

"Fifteen hours? Tch—who’s counting?" she said, rubbing at her temples before leaning back in her chair with a creak. "Tea sounds amazing though. Make it strong. I’m not sure if I’m ready to sleep or ready to dismantle the entire ODM gear system and start from scratch."

"Commander, you've been working for fifteen hours now. Please, retire for the evening. I'll make some tea to help you relax." It was bold of her to assume it was nerves and not excitement, but the worry line she had begun to notice forming on Hange's forehead was finally prompting genuine concern.
