Top 5 Early Miraculous Episodes That Aged Like Fine Milk
So here is my list of episodes that, looking back, have absolutely not aged well. Id like to remind people yhat this is an Early Episodes list. As so, fan beloathes like Kuro Neko or Derision wont be figuring out, or anything past s03 for that matter.
#5.Chat Blanc
I remember when Chat Blanc came out the hype was out if this world, people saw it as the episode that would "distinguish children from men" in terms of lore and writing . An episode about Chat Noir akumatized? A villain reveal? A betrayal? The world-ending apocalypse? God, its every edgelord's wet dream.
As soon as it came out theories started poping out on the developments of that episode. When would Adrien know? How affected would Ladybug be by it? And Gabriel, what would be his reaction if he found out about it?
However, as we look back now what do we see? An episode that didnt really ammount to anything. Adrien and Gabriel were still unaware of the Chat Blanc timeline, Marinette seems to have forgotten the issue at all, except when it comes as an excuse to keep identities hidden.
The whole drama was set up, and there seems to be literally nothing to talk about now, killing all of its hype.
#4.Pupeteer 2
The episode seems pretty fine if not for one measily detail: we later learn how that was the moment Adrien fell for Marinette.
Which, as we rewatch the episode, makes little to no sense. In the episode, Adrien was nothing beyond eager to improve his platonic relationship with Marinette, still unsure why she couldnt stand talking to him. Even in the almost kiss moment, there is no blush, no flirt, not any sign whatsoever that he might have been remotely attracted to her.
And an important detail: If Adrien had felt anything romantic at all youd think he would be thinking twice about confiding to her about the other girl he loves. Not to say how he immediately started courting Kagami after, so Marinette wasnt even his second choice at that moment.
#3.Miraculer
Many may say that that Queen's Battle are the episodes that best describe Chloe's failed redemption arc. I disagree, saying that the one that better represent it is Miraculer. Here, we see chloe's redemption at its peak. Chloe rejecting akumas, pulling his weight against mayura, and even with her own issues working together with the whole team to win over the villain. And all just episodes from Chloe inexplicably just turn a 180 and going for the Evilest Person Ever position.
#2. Ladybug
If you ever want to prove to someone that the Sentimonster Theory was a retcon, just show them this episode. Ladybug disregards most of sentilife philosophicsl debates and just treats sentibeings as expendable life. We have Gabriel and Nathalie completely disregarding Sentimonster Life even with Adrien supposedly a sentimonster. Even Ladybug and Chat Noir give us little regarding sentibug's death, just a sad-face-with-tear reaction and moving on, and I really doubt the reaction would have been the same if a flesh-and-bone human had died. The narrative clearly doesnt aknowledge that Senti Ladybug's life was as inportant, what makes the whole claim that "sentimonster lives matter" later on nonsensical
#1.Chameleon
Remember when Miraculous was a fun and go-lucky superhero show about a girl and her cat fighting villains? Chameleon is the catalyst for when things started to go wrong. The whole Lila plot tapped into the insecurities of many people and brough out the worst in the fandom. Salt against Adrien, Alya, Bustier and the class started popping out, people who just wanted to prioritize Marinette's needs above all else started coming in. Class salt became a subgenre of the fandom and extremely popular.Chameleon may look innocent but awoke the worst of this fandom.

Some people think that they only had Tomoe turn out to be a villain in season 5 in order to drive Kagami into Felix's arms. How would you feel if that turned out to be true?
Honestly I would feel disappointed but unsurprised. Its clear as day that the writers just gave up on Kagami as a character of her own.
Initially, just like Luka, she was a step character, made as a love interest to mirror Adrien and create romantic tension for Marinette. And just like Luka after that whole dynamic fell apart they began to develop her more, to give her depth and focus, and it looked like they were leading her to something interesting.
Until they gave up on that and glued her on Felix's hip.
The fact that Kagami might be used to create tension between Tomoe and Felix unfortunatelly is something expected by now. Felix is a antihero and writer's favorite, while Tomoe has been upgraded from "bad parent" to "shady secret society supervillain". Meanwhile Kagami has nothing on her own table. She was incorporated into Marinette's "girlfriends" group and her feelings, opinions and ideals have been reduced to "whatever felix wants I want too". We didnt even get to see how she felt about being a sentimonster, or how she confronted Tomoe, or even how their relationship is. She is reduced to absolutely nothing, only a stepping board to characters the writers want to develop more.

Its crazy how the show trying so hard to make Kagami "one of the girls" in Marinette's circle has put her in a confusing limbo. What is even Kagami anymore?
Why is she at the school? Did she transfer? What is she doing in the girl's sleepover? When did they all become friends? Didnt she used to have a communication issue? She barely had time to even date Adrien, what happened to her strict schedule? Tomoe is still around making her life miserable, isnt it? Does she even talk or spend time with Adrien at all anymore?
And dont even get me started with Feligami and sentimonster stuff.
God, her character was so good and now is such a mess.

I think s06 kind of ruined all the other seasons for me animation wise. I just went back to watch Evillustrator(who was kind of supposed to be one of the s01 well animated ones) and good lord, the animation was SO worse than I remembered. Everyone looks like a puppet. The collors and lighting are hideous. The moviments are so static, characters sliding on the floor and moving around sitffly like sims. Not to say how the lip sync was odd and the background music sucked ass. Whoever miss this old style should honestly get their eyes checked.

I totally agree. I would not go too far to say Nath is a homophobic, but he clearly had homophobic misconseptions interalized to him by his family, and the fact that he was surpressing his queer feelings only made it more intense. Reverser makes way more sense since the Ruler exactly because we now understand where those feelings came from, and that Nath's overeaction actually had grounds to support on.
Btw I might not be remembering weel but I think at that point Nath made comics and drew but only to himself, and it was only when Marc came up that they started to put them for publication.
It can also symbolize the fact he was "closeted", harboring attraction and preparing to come out but still not prepared to get straight out confessed by someone.
(In evilustrator Chloe kind of bullied hum by laughing at his art, I think there you can also go back and make a paralel how queer kids find fitting at a heteronormative school enviroment with homophobic classmates can be an obstacle.)
With the new episode it makes SO much sense now why Nathaniel was angry at Marinette for trying to set him up with Marc and even borderline homophobic in Reverser. Boy was trying to hold on to that closet for dear life 😭

I mean yeah thats what we can interpret at first glance but just like The Ruler, reverser uses comics as an alegory for homosexuality and romantic interest.
We could always in Reverser interpret that Marc is only interested in Nathaniel's comics and ability as an artist? Yes. And that Nathaniel tore apart Marc's journal in a fit because he though he had a meeting with Ladybug? Also yes.
But would that be the only truth? Even if not said explicitly, its clear as day that Marc had a crush on him, not only his art, and that Naths overreactions was led by something more than just "you are not Ladybug!".of course media can be interpreted in many ways, but at least to me its clear that Nath was surprised not only because the person he was meeting was not only not ladybug, but also a male who was confessing having interest in his art him.
To evengo further that point, Marc turns in Reverser, who would be exactly what akumatized Marc needed right at that point: the power to reverse things, maybe turn the sexual orientation of a straight homophobic?
Of course thats not what the story explicitly says, and Reverser's powers didnt work like that with LB and CN, but who knows what he assumed would happen if he hit Nath? We could always interpret that as his goal, even in explicitly it looks like somthing else.
With the new episode it makes SO much sense now why Nathaniel was angry at Marinette for trying to set him up with Marc and even borderline homophobic in Reverser. Boy was trying to hold on to that closet for dear life 😭

Funny how Maripologists only talk about how "all the kids were traumatized by Gabriel" in order to minimize Adrien's trauma/re-center Marinette.
Because if we're going with "all the kids were traumatized" then the logical conclusion is that they ALL deserve to be angry at Marinette for lying to them about the guy that brainwashed them. 😤

Damn. Like, DAMN. I'm glad Marinette wasn't spared from seeing Adrien's reaction cause this was one of the most obvious consequences to come out of lying to the world about Gabriel having been a hero.
Ivan is already simplifying his friends' family situations as exclusively loving and healthy because he's that lost in his own pain of his extreme case that he can't see alot of nuances in other situations,
But Adrien is literally being singled out here as the person who has no business at all claiming to have similar feelings. But this is not just harming and invalidating Adrien in any feelings he would like to share (which it does a LOT), this is harming Ivan, too.
Both boys would find so much companionship and support in getting to bond over their villain fathers. But they don't get to do that. Ivan may have opened up, but he still thinks he's the only one with such problems. And Adrien literally excluded himself from the group hug and left into his room, thinking about how it's HIS fault that HE didn't do enough to reach out to his father in the last years:
I just... there is so much harm being done by Marinette lies and her keeping massive parts of Adrien's life secret from him. No, she means no harm, but she's causing so MUCH of it over and over and over again. Yes, this better be blowing up later.

ok so mild miraculous the ruler spoilers
so most people have noticed marc and nathaniel clearly parallel marinette and adrien in this episode but i haven’t seen people talk much in depth about how nathaniel’s parents mirror adrien’s. (and marc’s to marrinette’s to a lesser extent - loving and supportive without question)
the fight between caprikid and his akumatised mother felt very familiar to chat and his akumatised fathers fight in representation, with both of them taking out their frustrations of being controlled by their parent.
so what if in a similar way nathaniel’s dad parallels emilie and gives us a hint to how she could have acted and what role she could have played in the agreste family dynamic before she died. kinder and more supportive on a surface level but still disconnected and enabling, still focused on her own wants and ideals but in a much more subtle way than gabriel.
to me that lines up with the emilie we see in werepapas, quick to excuse gabriel’s behaviour in service to keep her delusion of a perfect loving family.

Comments on new episode The Ruler so spoilers ahead!
Yet another dickhole pair of parents. Is this going to be the norm from now on? Hope they are not trying to make Gabriel look good by making everyone worse by comparision, it wont work.
Wow Mark is fucking beautiful in the new design. Nath's freckles give him an unique look too, love them.
Nath's purple glitter shoes scream "Im a poor ass artist" 😭
Cant believe Miraculous made me shed a tear Miraculous for fucks sake.
If anything RULES, its Caprikid's outfit. Wished they had kept the white hair but overall its perfect.
" comics are a legit form of art" uh? Wish Zag would take a hint OF HIS OWN SHOW and make a Miraculous Comic that doesnt suck ass.
Ah yes, the "Adrien sometimes stinks of cheese" theory is now canon. Absolutely love it. Not being ironic here btw.
Whats with Marinette's runny nose sidestory? THat seems like completely unecessary. Looks more like a reason for her to be shoved onscreen and waste time we should be spending on cute Marc/Nath fluff.
Also, what an ass color choice for the snot lol is her brain melting or sth?
Once again Chat Noir fell down like a bitch. I mean I get that the story is completely unrelated to him and there is only so much screentime but then why even use him at all? Sick of this trope already, just give Adrien a reason to not show up if you are not doing anything with him and move on.
Nice, good episode overall. I like they are making the gay stuff more obvious this season, also the soubdtrack this season is really good.

I like the "Emilie was an abuser" theory because it can show us that abuse can come in many ways. While Gabriel was cold and distant, Emilie would be coddling and overprotective, and ended up creating an emotional codependency.
Also, Emilie being an abuser and controling adrien doesnt exactly mean she was doing it on purpose. She could be repeating the same patterns of her own upbringing, or overcompensating in patterns that hers was lacking. Unfortunatelly, parenting doesnt come with a manual, and people can easily fall into abusive paterns not because its intentional but for lack of self-awareness. As a symbology, her inadvertedly controlling Adrien with his amok to do her bidding (maybe rubbing the ring was a nervous tick of hers and when Adrien misbehaved, she would rub it while being unaware she was giving him a command) would be a good way to show that.
It can also explain many things about Adrien's upbringing that are left unexplained, like how he was sheltered, doesnt have a drive or passions and has deeply rooted self esteem issues.
However, in this particular take of Adrien being mature because of a command I dont think it holds much water because I dont think an Amok can change personalities or give the holder any kind of change o their traits. Why? Because if the amok could do that, Gabriel wouldve just ordered Adrien to fall out of love with Marinette. Yet he chose just to order him to stay away from her, which is more of an immediate order than just changing his personality.
Yet, there are many other ways Emiliencouldve used the amok in order to control Adrien. its an interesting take and would like to see more of it.
did the mom order Adrien to be emotionally mature/intelligent?
Hey...miraculous fandom...I know logically Adrien probably got iver his mom's disappearance/ death because he saw his dad drowning in his grief so decided to be strong for his dad who he saw as in denial...cuz adrien suspected the mom left to due away from the family so she wouldn't cause them distress most likely since adrien wasn't blind to hjs mom being sick even if they didn't try to discuss it.
Especially to contrast how claw noir was still grieving abd couldn't let go becayse claw noir felt his dad moved on or didn't care that much because that gabriel had focused on being a superhero after accepting the methods he was doing to try to bring her back wasn't worth it....could just be a different affect of games poor parenting skills.
But dies anyone wonder if the mom might have left suggestions or orders in the ring so Adrien would have to handle her death or disappearance well abd responsibly?
Like...sometimes adrien can seem almost too understanding and mature at times...she can't control hoe gabriel handled it even if she had back up videos just on case..
But has it occurred to any of us what if adrien was brainwashed by the mom to get over it more quickly while claw noir didn't because he wasn't ordered to do so since characters made different decisions.
Just....a interest thought. Any thoughts on it? Please tell me in notes and or reblogs ect.

I need a fic where Gabriel knew there was a possibility of Marinette or Nathalie finding the letter first so he hid a lot of letters with the same content all around the mansion, so everytime Adrien opens the fridge or a box or takes down a frame a letter pops out of nowhere and they have to scramble to destroy it before he gets to see it and a goose chase starts around the mansion as they start turning the whole place upside down to search for them but there are SO MANY meanwhile Adrien is just impressed on how proactive they are with cleaning
