Trent's hair is amazing of course but his best feature (physically) is the like eyes/nose/brows area. Gorgeous side profile on that man

This show is gold for grumpy kinda mean sub/cheerful sweet dom ships. I can think of at least three examples and they're all amazing

I think the initial hook that the show's premise was based on - Ted being the fish out of water American in England - was a great set-up, but ultimately it weakened ted as a character because it is, in essence, a gag, meaning Ted's growth was stagnated slightly as a coach to further 'the bit' by making him STILL confused about football, even by the end.

ted is lowkey immature about not liking tea. like theres so many varities of tea and so many ways to have it and he just says it tastes like dirt water. grow up
#He's doing a bit. He's very obviously doing a bit#Like yeah he doesn't like tea--I don't particularly like any of the tea I've tried either#although I'm sure if I tried enough kinds I might eventually find one I liked--but he's also clearly exaggerating for humor.#That's kind of one of his whole things.#Plus why does it matter? Literally why does it matter if someone doesn't like--even vocally doesn't like--a random drink or food?#Yeah maybe if he kept trying a bunch of different teas--spending time and money and effort to--he might find something he liked#but why bother? Like sure if one of his friends genuinely cared and wanted to find him a tea he liked maybe#otherwise he's just forcing himself to drink a bunch of tea and for what reason? To be 'cultured'? Like literally why does it matter#Plus. Again. He is *doing a bit.*

*** This fandom has such a way of choosing to believe things that clearly go against the narrative. "Trent might be bi and still dating his daughter's mother" / "Rebecca never thought about Boatguy after 307" / "Boatguy is a dangerous man who doesn't respect women". You just made that up. Season 3 took a subtler, "things left unsaid" kind of approach to a lot of things, but the narrative and context clues and a rewatch make it absolutely clear that Trent is gay, Matthijs respects and would never harm Rebecca, Rebecca enjoyed and thinks fondly of her time with Matt, there is a future for Matt and Rebecca and that girl will be her daughter.... The same way it's obvious that Colin came out as gay after the camera cut off, that Ted told Rebecca that he's leaving at the end of 311, and that Rebecca and Ted wanted to tell each other "I love you" (platonic or romantic) at the airport. These are things you just understand if you pay attention.

Like a good 90 percent of Nate haters are just racist. Like, straight-up just racist. If he were a white dude you would NOT hate him like that

People who spell Keeley's name "Keely" are wrong and will not see the pearly gates (< exaggerating for humor but seriously. it's Keeley. Stop)

Heterosexuality is the least common identity in the AFC Richmond locker room.
#My take:#this is not canonically true. It is DEFINITELY not canonically true.#However it would be really funny if it was#So yes it is.

I love their friendship, but Rebecca/Keeley actually did have interesting potential as a romance arc.

As a fictional man Roy is great, if he was real he'd be an angry violent man who threatens everyone he doesn't like (which is almost everyone) and physically attacks his team mates and no woman irl would feel safe around him.
#I'm with the tags on this one#I understand where Anon is coming from though#I think if you didn't know him he could certainly be frightening#But women who know him in the slightest seem to feel very comfortable around him#The shouting is scary but his bark is worse than his bite

Beard isn't as all-knowing as he tends to be portrayed in fics, even--even especially--not when it comes to Ted. However, he is very good at faking it
#I think it's just a bit people like to run with#But sometimes he gets flanderized a bit#...usually for the sake of being a convenient plot device. Which is fair enough I suppose

people willfully ignore the very real potential and substance of tedbecca bc they don't like the fandom. i wish people would ignore the online space if they don't like it (which i've seen people give valid reasons for) and look at the relationship and the context/subtext objectively.
#Personally I would say that the fandom certainly didn't help and I've had some bad experiences#But I still dislike the ship for my own reasons#And putting down all criticism to people disliking the ship feels naive at best and disingenuous at worst#Also: even if people really didn't like it just because of the fandom#My hot take: that's a totally acceptable reason to not like a ship.#It doesn't hurt anyone if someone doesn't like your ship#And if people are assholes about it and it drives people away from their fandom that's kind of their own fault#I know it sucks when you're not the one being an asshole but now people don't like the thing you like#But it's a pretty natural reaction#If a bunch of shippers are assholes people will associate it with the ship (And the same with toxic fandoms)#It's not really fair but emotions aren't really fair either#And it doesn't hurt anyone to avoid a ship that makes you feel bad#There's no moral value to that

The book Ted gave to Jamie was a poor choice based on a shallow interpretation Ted had of him and I hate that people hold it up as an amazing book for Jamie to have read, its not.
#I have never seen anyone call this book a good choice for Jamie#I'm not saying it never happened but personally I've only ever seen people say that it's a bad choice#Maybe they said it on the bird app. I don't look at the bird app.
