Hiya, I made a dice tray for my boyfriend recently and I want to yap about it so here goes

Ok plans

This is the first draft of a plan (which I did with only a ruler trigonometry), its the base of the tray with a D20 pattern on it with a special M, in the middle

So after making a plan I went to my dad to ask if I can use the wood from the garage and he said sure but that I should use plastic instead, cue debate

Settled on plastic and got the broken bucket

Ignore the car, we have a lot of crap

Now trim it and get the amount we need

Now it’s circular so we need to flatten it out to use (I didn’t fully get it flattened but I got it a good bit), I used boiling water to soften the plastic and then my book press that I made (I’ll make a post about that soon) to flatten it into a sheet

Now we mark out the design and cut it, I’d show but I forgor to take picture, then we bend the plastic, I got help from my dad with this because I didn’t have the tools I usually would have because I wasn’t in school to do it, so we used a soldering iron, to bend the plastic

Now, onto the leather

Leather, is a bitch to work with, hate it with a passion but goddam is it good and hence I also love it.

This the bottom of the leather, the long strings are edges of the hexagon and the little ones are the hold it down so it doesn’t stick up off the leather.

Sorry to go in aside for a minute but, I had bought embroidery thread specifically for this and it just disappeared, I have no idea where it went but it was just gone, so I had to use wool instead

Make the rest of the pattern and now just put it together, I used hot glue for sticking the leather to the plastic and it didn’t turn out too bad

It could be better yes I know, and the glue is kinda annoying with bumps on the bottom but I’m pretty happy with how it it turned out so

I’d honestly think about starting to knit/weave/whatever this is, just to make this, it looks awesome

Finally finished my Biblically Accurate Sweater Vest Nd I'm really happy with how it came out. I want to get some more detail shots of it once it's finished blocking, but I was too excited to not share it.

I'm considering doing the work to make it into a publishable pattern, is this the kinda thing anyone would be interested in making?

Ok mild problem, they’re kinda heavy so they don’t really work as earrings, I also don’t have my ears pierced(yet) so that also doesn’t work,

Necklace, uh possibly but I’ll need to cut the actual locker piece out for the lock to work, but again they’re kinda heavy and the corners are kinda sharp and as a person who runs around, jumps and climbs a lot those two factors are a terrible combination for jewellery as you almost always end up being stabbed

Adornments for a backpack, that might work although I have no idea how I’d attach them

Adornments for clothing, yeah they’d probably end up ripping the clothing somehow

Belt adornments, uh, I don’t even own a belt :p

Hey I kinda want to make/do something with these locks that I have, they’re from lockers in my school, I think one of my friends gave them to me (actually I know one of them have them to me, I think it was @ambershousefire )

I don’t have the keys to them and one of the locking mechanism is completely bust

Anyone have any ideas as to what I could do with them?

I’ve just been offered a bracelet stained red with blood

And while that’s cool as fuck I don’t want this person hurting themselves

But it did give me the idea of a book using blood red emblems on it, using my blood

Like, old looking pages (pages stained with coffee or tea) stitched together into a text block, said text block bound in brown leather with a runic decoration in a circular pattern at the front, using blood

Like that would be cool as fuck

It’s like double IKEA effect, you know, the whole thing of “I made this thing so I value it more” except it’s doubled because the emblems and decoration is using my blood

It makes it that much more personal

I know like all of you are gonna say to not do this and not to hurt myself to make this

But I really wanna do it
