While we wait for the next posts to be finished (which admittedly isn't the best thing for me specifically to do), here's a small update:
Jenny Over-There, the Man in Grey and Peter Thor have received new character portraits, courtesy of, who else, @aristidetwain!

Cupid Fact File #2312 – “Angels” by Aristide Twain
Tumblr media
“Should you be mistaken for an angel by the native mortal population of a given universe, it is recommended that you play into this misapprehension if at all possible, as it has been observed to make mortals much more motivated to listen to what a Cupid has to say. However, do not, under any circumstances, engage in such deception if you have reason to suspect that actual angels local to the universe you are visiting might catch wind of your activities. How dim a view they take of such cross-species impersonation can scarcely be emphasised enough, and even should you be fortunate enough to be confronted with a corporeal angel whose body is vulnerable to Cupid Arrows, the clarity of purpose of a self-righteous angel is one of a few states of mind which our Love Potion oft proves unable to disrupt.”

2.2 years ago, I thought to myself "I should create something that changes lives. Something to inspire hope in the general population. Something to bring about genuine social change, and do it in a way that's entertaining but also informative..." and then once I finished writing that, I thought "Hey, what if I made a Jenny Everywhere variant with a highly specific, slightly boring power for, like one-off?"
And so "The Tribulations of Jenny Over-There" was born, and once it was, I had to make a choice - put it on its own website, or dump it onto an Ao3 page. My reasoning was that, since this would only be a one-off, I could just put it there and move on.
10 mainline stories later (one of which features licensed elements from other writers), plus three appearances in various Arcbeatle Press Anthologies, I've realised maybe I should've gone and made the website.
So here it is: The Nine-Two-Five Universe Website!

Author Bio & Bio for that one French guy who agreed to do the art for some reason!
It even has some of the stories (look, I'm a busy guy, I need some time to do some edits)!
And that's not all! These old stories have received a fresh-ish coat of paint with spruced-up dialogue, descriptive language, and brand new art by the lovely @aristidetwain!
So what are you waiting for? Go check out the new Nine-Two-Five Universe website and see how I ended up nearly doubling the word count of the Pride Month classic "A Series of Queer Events"!

Happy Pride!
Tumblr media
The cover of Plum Pudding’s Beautiful Ghosts, created by Plum.
Happy Pride, from all of us at The Cheshire House! This month, we are celebrating queerness with two new stories — one being an original story from Elodie Christian (@tvmigraine), and the other, a new instalment in Plum Pudding’s Disparate Minds series.
Beautiful Ghosts by Plum Pudding, edited by Molly Warton, Theta Mandel (@theangelshavethephonebox), Ostara Gale (@a-wartime-paradox), and Aristide Twain (@aristidetwain). This story follows Wick as he investigates an unfamiliar name, a stranger in a too-quiet bar, and a ghost from their past, all as they are drawn to a mysterious man…
Changeling by Elodie Christian, edited by Ostara Gale and Aristide Twain. This standalone tale follows Dorian, a member of the Fae, as they explore their own identity against the beautiful and terrible backdrop of human history.

"The Reviews Are In" - Deleted Scene
Our fifth anniversary special, The Reviews Are In, featured - among many other returning characters from stories past - a brief appearance from the serpentine mad scientist Doctor Curious, as he attempted to slither his way into being a part of Jenny and Thymon's video present for the Cupids.
But Curious was a late addition to the story. The original draft instead featured, in his place, the return of the ghostly Doctor Synestrom, whom the Cupids encountered in October of 2021 in The Haunting of the Tavern. Although this short scene was cut from the final version of the story, we now present it below for the very first time:
“Sorry,” said Jenny, “Who are you?”
“Iᴛ ɪs I – ᴛʜᴇ ᴇsᴛᴇᴇᴍᴇᴅ Dᴏᴄᴛᴏʀ Sʏɴᴇsᴛʀᴏᴍ.” the cloaked figure hissed, the edges of its outlines flickering slightly. “Hᴇʀᴇ ᴛᴏ ᴘᴀʀᴛɪᴄɪᴘᴀᴛᴇ ɪɴ ᴛʜɪs ᴄɪɴᴇᴍᴀᴛᴏɢʀᴀᴘʜɪᴄ ʀᴇᴄᴏʀᴅ ᴡʜɪᴄʜ ʏᴏᴜ ʜᴀᴠᴇ sᴇᴛ ᴏᴜᴛ ᴛᴏ ᴘʀᴏᴅᴜᴄᴇ.”
“Er,” Jenny said awkwardly, “I’m not sure the Crew have ever mentioned you.”
Synestrom looked taken aback.
“Wʜᴀᴛ? Bᴜᴛ I, sᴜʀᴇʟʏ, ᴏᴜᴛ ᴏғ ᴀʟʟ ᴏᴛʜᴇʀs, ᴀᴍ ᴀᴍᴏɴɢ ᴛʜᴇɪʀ ᴍᴏsᴛ ᴍᴇᴍᴏʀᴀʙʟᴇ ғᴏᴇs!”
Jenny glanced at the list she and Thymon had compiled.
“Well – ” she said, “Um – I don’t think they’ve ever – “
“Fɪɴᴇ!” said Synestrom, crackling angrily out of existence. “Sᴇᴇ ɪғ I ᴄᴀʀᴇ!”

New Story - "A Fish in Time" by Lupan Evezan
Larrikin shook his head.
“That’s because you’re inexperienced,” he declared.
“Inexperienced?” roared the Captain. “Us? Why, I oughta… !”
Larrikin clasped his hands behind his back, gazing imperiously at the Fish as he paced back and forth.
“Oh, out in th’ multiverse ya might be top notch stuff,” he continued. “But in here, you’re outta your depth. You’re like, uh — like some kinda animal tryin’ t’ live outside the place where it usually lives.”
He pointed to himself.
“Ya might be pretty good at what ya do, pals — but when it comes to prankin’ the Homeworld, you’ve got a lot to learn from me.”

And here is the cover for 'A World of Pure Unimagination', drawn by the awesome Aristide!
Our first seven stories...
The First Metamorphosis is a story of The Interstellar Sleuth, written by Elodie Christian and edited by Ostara Gale & Aristide Twain. The story follows an amnesiac patient’s attempt to escape the terrible Happiness Facility, with their only real clue to their identity a mysterious lottery ticket…
The Carnage of Urmafrae features Lotto and Mae as they investigate the disappearance of a village which has never existed, and learn to live with the consequences… The third story of The Interstellar Sleuth, this story was written by Ostara Gale and edited by Theta Mandel & Aristide Twain.
A Collision of Ships marks a crossover between The Castaways of Ishiok and Zadellin, written by Ostara Gale and edited by Theta Mandel & Aristide Twain. A multiversal traveller and three Archons run into each other —  literally. Their Ships collide. Unsurprisingly, tensions rise as they try to fix their respective Higher Dimensional Ships so they can continue on their adventures.
A Visit from Everywhere is a crossover story between The Castaways of Ishiok and the worlds of Jenny Everywhere, written by Ostara Gale and edited by Theta Mandel & Aristide Twain. When Jenny turns up in Katioka, Abraytha and Xiantio attempt to take her home.
My Name is SAM is a standalone sci-fi short story, penned by Elodie Christian and edited by Ostara Gale. SAM, a true AI based on Mars, sends a letter home. AI should not have a home, but SAM has memories that would beg to differ…
A World of Pure Unimagination by Xavier Llewellyn and edited by Aristide Twain follows Jenny Everywhere and her colossal chocolate craving. On the search for sweets, she finds an infamously awful Chocolate Factory knock-off. But is there something going on that’s more sinister than a simple scam? Jenny won’t leave without answers.
The Cathedral of Winter was originally published in The Book of the Snowstorm, and is Abraytha’s first story. Written by Ostara Gale and edited by Aristide Twain, this story is now available for free digitally in order to make the Unbound Scavenger’s story complete.
You can find us here on Tumblr, and also at CheshireHouseStories on Instagram, as well as Cheshire_House on X/Twitter. You can turn on notifications for this blog to always be notified when a major update occurs, or when new stories are released. We hope you enjoy our stories… Now, get to reading!

New Story - "The Reviews Are In" by Lupan Evezan
“What’s this?” Frederick asked.
“A commercial the Crew tried to film, almost five years ago.” Jenny said. “It didn’t go very well, for anyone involved.”
“ThEiR aNnIvErSaRy Is CoMiNg Up.” Thymon explained. “So We ThOuGhT, aS tHaNkS fOr AlL tHaT tHe CuPiDs HaVe DoNe FoR uS, wE’D sOrT oF… rEmAkE iT fOr ThEm.”
Jenny nodded.
“And this is the only place we could get everyone together without raising suspicion.”
“Everyone?” Roz asked suspiciously, glancing at her fellow waiter. “Who’s everyone?”
“Oh, don’t worry.” Jenny replied. “No one you wouldn’t know.”
She switched on the camcorder, then angled it at the empty chair.
“Now,” she said, putting on an announcer’s voice, “Won’t you happy people tell us how the Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids changed your life?”

Merry Christmas (it is Christmas)
This year (which is 2023 because it is still December and Christmas) I'm pleased to bring you a brand new retelling of the underloved, underappreciated, and underadapted Charles Dickens Masterpiece, A Christmas Carol starring our favourite Man in Grey, who will finally be confronted with his past, forced to see his present with clarity, and learn to change for the better lest he get murdered by a skeleton ghost. So, turn off your lights, fill up a mug with boiling water, and enjoy the 100% normal festivities!

Huh… that's odd… when the wonderful @aristidetwain sent over this art, I don't remember there being a Lizard in it… Probably just a rendering issue or something, Discord can be a bit weird about file compression sometimes.
