Band notes from April 2014
reposted:
Note of Explanation / April 27, 2014
My name is James Plano. I was the second drummer for the Crome Syrcus, and performed in the band with the Joffrey Ballet, doing “Astarte” in New York City–also Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, other U.S. cities, and Vienna. We performed at the Fillmore East (NYC), Fillmore West (San Francisco), Avalon Ballroom (San Francisco) , Eagles Auditorium (Seattle), Sky River Festivals, Berkeley Folk Festival, and many more gigs. Lee and Ted have passed away, but will always be with us in spirit. There is a final CD that all five members recorded–and Dick, John and I are trying to figure out how to release it. That's all for now, more soon........ cromesyrcus.com

In memory of Dan Munger who died in an automobile accident 3 October 1963. Scott Schneider, Jim "J.D." Boggs  & Chuck Curry.
I played for the Mystics in 1962-63. It was the highlight of my youth, especially when we played the Castle. We cut a record at Nolta Records in Seattle, both sides were written by Dan Munger.  Unfortunately he never heard them as he and his girlfriend, Mary Ellen Baker were killed in an automobile accident on the way home from playing at a high school dance. The record was dedicated to them, with “Dan” on one side and “Fox” on the other.
–Chuck Curry, January 2006
I was going through tapes, and found three songs that were recorded on reel-to-reel at a dance in Bellevue, WA at Lake Hills.
I was with the band until we ended it. I was with the Exotics previous to that.
–Ted Vanderford, June 2008
