We ended the weekend in Illinois at a fundraising event for The Good Samaritan House, the only Metro East shelter for homeless women with children. We contributed with two paellas. The Good Samaritan House of Granite City is about helping women utilize resources such as Women, Infants and Children and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. It also helps them learn life skills such as nutrition, budgeting and job interviewing, empowering them to stand on their own.
