Choices...

          Today, the consequences of my choices are flashing before me. Though I don’t feel good about it, I’m still thankful that I'm able to experience this because not all people get the chance to, or may not even have time for this. I’ve realized no matter what is the decision made, there will always, always be a backfire. 

          Many factors affect a choice. It could be emotions/ feelings, a goal that one has been trying to pursue for a long time, a choice that has already been set by an authoritative figure, peer pressure, belief, or the most common reason of all (perhaps the root of it all, I hate to admit): benefit. There is no guaranteed right formula to arrive at the best choice that would benefit everyone even with the one with the noblest intention. 

          There will always be a sacrifice that has to be made; an idea or belief that has to be set aside, shove under the rug to arrive at a decision. There will be better ways on how to handle it, but it will not always pop into our minds at the time we need it most. All we can do is to regret a while, learn from it, and move forward. Of course, it will always be easier said than done. 

          But it has to be done to make room for redemption, for improvement from time to time. That is how one should take responsibility for the wrong choices they’ve made, right? To reflect and find ways to make up for it. It seems to be the weight of freewill. 

          WE will be constantly burdened by the consequences of the choices WE’VE made… but we get to learn from the choices WE made. Every decision will somehow take us to a turn that is not part of our plan, and that is inevitable. But the good side to it is we will always have control over how we arrive at that decision. Good, if our choice reflects what’s inside US...
