It was two minutes later that Ryoga, for the nth time, had to wonder if the boy behind him was just stupid or suicidal. After hearing about how playing Big Jaws in a deck with far too many Quick-Play spells wasn't the wisest move, his hands twitched. Fingers threatened to curl into fists.
What he wouldn't give to just punch the kid's lights out and just leave him lying out in the open. A corpse slain by the predator, left for the vultures of conniving silence that made up society--
Ryoga suspected his eyes blazed when he finally stopped and spun around, but that wasn't his first priority. "What the fuck do you want, you fucking assho--" Blink. Breath hitched. Blithely, the Number brought to its knees. "Leave me alone."

“Oh wow!” He exclaimed, clasping his hands together excitedly before running after the older teen.
“You must be the famous duelist Shark! You’re an awesome duelist, I think you’re deck is really cool! Of course, no one will ever be better than Yuma. He’s the greatest duelist  ever! You’re still super strong though!”
He rambled on, referencing specific plays from some of Shark’s past duels, always managing to throw in some comment about how Yuma was just a little bit better. The hostile air about the aquatic duelist went right over his head.

She tried to hide it, but it wasn't fast enough. The mocking laugh of someone who found it fit to make fun of others--of him. Tch. Fucking Westernisation. He should have guessed through Yuma's behaviour alone that the Tsukumo household was not one kept in social constraints and such strict regulation.
"Breaking news?" he repeated, though his words were dull. Empty. He didn't know anything worthy of breaking news, though the thought of breaking drew images to mind of IV. The breaking of his sister, the breaking of hisself--and then they morphed to become IV's lifeless, beaten form.
(And yet, Ryoga imagined he still would not be content. The bastard deserved more, more, more--)
"I don't know anything," he said. Then, casting the image from his mind, he suppressed what had to have been the Number's influences and looked to change the subject. "Then you work as a writer?"

It was at the movement of Shark’s head that Akari had to fight a snigger. She didn’t expect someone Yuma knew to be so.. polite? Though, he wasn’t exactly acting like a gentleman. Kids today, she began, before shaking her head to stop herself from sounding like her grandma.
“I’m making sure Yuma doesn’t get into any trouble,” she replied, attempting to bore a hole in the boy’s forehead with her gaze on the word ‘trouble’, “as well as looking for something good to write about. You got any breaking news?”

"No problem," he muttered, gruffly.
Well, he hadn't had any plans for that afternoon anyway.
Ryoga stuffed his hands in his pockets and began to walk in the opposite direction to what he'd indicated before without looking to see if the boy was following. The Number snapped, snarled at the diversion, and Ryoga gripped a fist across his heart so the pain could be a sufficient enough distraction.
(--even if it didn't work and just fuck it all)
Cain stared blankly as the other boy tried to explain various routes. The young teen didn’t know anything about this place so,obviously,he’d not know how to get around. When the other male decided he’d just lead the way,Cain sighed in relief, he was lucky that Ryoga hadn’t turned him away. After all the guy seemed pretty irate about this whole thing, I wonder why he’s so tense? looking curiously at shark,he could tell the boy had some sort of pent up emotion. Not to mention he’d literally growled a bit. Suspicion began to rise though his curiosity did as well,it all seemed quite interesting to him.
“Thanks!” He replied in a enthused tone though it was somewhat fake sounding.

"I don't care," he snarled, about to brush her off again. There had been another girl called Rio, once, thinking shed had a chance simply because she shared his twin's name, but he'd turned her down.
Abandoning all pretence, Ryoga spun around to find the alarm only centimetres away from his fingertips... in the opposite direction. He took a step back to stand beside it and met her eyes. To make sure the stranger knew who (--and what) she was dealing with.
Then he frowned as her words finally registered, and clenched the fist by his side.
"Another Ryoga? There is no other Ryoga. Do you--" and here he hesitated, though the hand beside the alarm tensed in the case she would use that moment to overcome him, "--do you truly believe you're Rio Kamishiro?"

“There’s so much to talk about, don’t you realize that?! I’m Rio Kamishiro. I’m your sister. No—maybe not your sister, but I’m related to a Ryoga. It can’t be you since you’re being hostile…”
Sad, almost devastated over the two meeting. She would leave but she felt like she had to explain herself to him. This couldn’t be her brother, not the way he was acting. But since they were identical copies, she wanted to tell him how and why she was there.
She was quiet and started to walk out of the room before stopping next to him, “I’m sorry, I just want my brother.” It was almost a mumble, if he didn’t hear it, oh well, it wasn’t that big of a deal to her anymore. Her brother had to be out there somewhere. Maybe she was just lost?

New to the City and wearing the uniform? Transfer student.
...Of course.
Ryoga rose to his feet, cutting his deck with one hand without looking and then returned it to his pocket.
"Shark," he said, bluntly. The Number shifted - and whether because it was pleased at the gruff introduction or because it needed to stretch again, Ryoga would never know.
Then he walked away. Fuck, hopefully the kid wouldn't follow.

Though the displeased tone in the other boy’s voice was plain as day, Rei dismissed it as the result of temporary grouchiness. Nobody could just be inherently mad, right?
He smiled with satisfaction, happy to have finally caught the other’s attention.
“My name’s Rei,” He repeated, “I’m new to the city, so I’m kinda trying to get to know people.”
He blinked at the teen with wide, inquiring eyes, “What’s your name?”

Ryoga flinched. That light... fuck no, he wasn't scared. He just--hated the feeling of it, the fucking hand and the fucking light sliding into his body without any trouble. How the light could just wrap around his heart, the organ protected most by a ribcage that could withstand so much, and then plucking his soul away. At first a ghostly shiver, then the pain and pulling of open surgery without anaesthesia.
It was just the fatigue leading to the display of weakness. It had to have been.
"I don't-- I don't have to tell you anything," said Ryoga, attempting to keep his pride(--he had nothing left but his pride--) yet fully aware the stammer was still there. One of his feet slipped slightly beneath him, and he suppressed a cringe. "Just... leave me alone!"
AU - Rift
Perhaps the Number had returned to Ryoga, forcing the bestial stare of the boy whom was weak as a household pet in front of him. That was new information to add to his arsenal. Judging from the shift in light from yellow to orange, only about thirty minutes had elapsed.
“If you don’t,” said Kaito in his icy voice, “I’ll force it from you.” He stood up, fighting his fatigue to prepare his Photon Hand. Surely he would recognize the faint glow.

"Akari," said Ryoga. That was right; she was a Tsukumo. Ryoga had never met her before, though he'd (over)heard a certain amount of information. As he made to gauge the likelihood of his emotions spilling over, the Number in his chest was... silent?
Odd.
"Yes," he said. He inclined his head in a slight bow, simply because he was expected to. "It's nice to meet you. What are you doing here?"

Her eyebrow quirked when she recognized the familiar hair, curled and purple. Who could forget a hairdo like that? It was that Shark kid. The first impression that he had given her wasn’t all that great; he was the bully that got into a few situations with Yuma. But the kid redeemed himself, at least in Yuma’s eyes.
“Shark, right?” Akari crossed her arms and gave a brief wave towards the boy. “We’ve not had a proper introduction. It’s Akari.”

Ryoga bristled. Even though he looked away, he could still feel that gaze - that sharp, piercing gaze. He hated that gaze. Hated being stared down, inferior and powerless because he'd foolishly assumed he could take on the Numbers Hunter. It had been his last memory, his only memory whilst he was unconscious.
It had replaced in his mind, at least for some time, the infuriating face of the bastard IV.
"You only want information?" he asked. The sharp words bit through the haze of his mind and helped him focus a little more. "What makes you think I'll give it to you?"
AU - Rift
It only took a few moments for Kaito to realise the two were in a comparatively compromising position, and he reflexively scanned the area nearby for onlookers. There were none; it must have been the weekend at the construciton site. This Ryoga was hostile, but was needed for information.
He remained in the position until Ryoga stood up and stumbled. Bemused, he reached forward like a curious child before the harsh dagger-like words struck Kaito. The hunter withdrew his hand, but not his gaze.
“You’re injured, so take it easy for your own sake. I only want information about what’s going on, no more.”

There was a wall there. In front of him somewhere. He couldn't see it clearly, vision still bleeding far too many degrees of red, but he knew it was there. What he could see was more than enough, and it was with practised ease in which he jumped off the ground and launched up then over.
Except not. Except, a torrential spike of pain lanced through his elbows as he was about to lift himself over. Shark Drake thrashed, his elbows snapped together as if bound by chains, and Ryoga felt far too keenly the momentum he'd gathered dissipate into the air.
He tried to push himself over the ledge. It was too late. With not enough energy, he fell back down to a collapsed, shuddering heap on the ground. And now his left ankle was complaining because that'd been a really big drop and shit was that blood on his left hand after he'd touched his elbow did he scrape his arm against the wall--
Ryoga swore. Fuck, the woman was approaching. He'd just have to play it safe and hope she didn't ask about the Number.

At the suggestion, Ryoga stuffed his hands into his pockets and determinedly glared away despite the fact that Kaito Tenjo was staring at the ground and couldn't even roll over. (Maybe. It didn't seem so.)
"Fine," he said, shortly. Pause. His eyes flashed down. "Do you need a hand--"
--he broke off and stiffened when a flash ran up his spine and into his mind. His eyes unfocused without warning, his vision flashed between hues and then, the next instant, all was over and everything was normal again.
...Except it wasn't. First there was warmth.
Then there was flame.
Ryoga swore when his pants caught on fire--actually caught on fire--and swore again. He reflexively tried to swat at the flames - then, realising they weren't as hot as they seemed (--they couldn't have been, though, his pants were still attached to his skin and he wasn't burning--) he began to pat them down. Somehow it worked... somehow, he managed to make the flames disappear through sheer will alone.
Only now, half his pants were gone. (Belatedly he noticed his underwear too had turned black as well.)
Fuck. Fuck.
Fuck. No.
Magic Anon: Chibi Kaito
Kaito’s face met his palm, and a sigh forced its way from his mouth. “Well we’re here for the same reason, so let’s co-operate just this once.”
Agitated steps slowed slightly, and Kaito tripped over his own stubby feet. “Fuck!” He swore out loud amongst a group of people as he landed, oversized face first into pavement. Stubby arms flailed to no avail, lacking reach to even reach the ground.
“There must be a source for the magic, or a way to remove it,” he growled.

Ryoga didn't even need to wait for the affirmation.
"I open the Overlay Network!" he called. Both monsters on his field morphed to twin orbs that circled a summon portal. "Xyz Summon! Rise from the depths, Underwater Warship - Aero Shark!"
Aero Shark emerged from a sweep of sea spray, a titanic vessel of orange and silver.
"Aero Shark's effect activates," he continued. "I detach one Material to inflict 400 points of damage for each card in my hand."
Ryoga held up his four cards, suppressing his irritation, just so Yuma could confirm.
LP: 3200 Hand: 4
Underwater Warship - Aero Shark: Rk.3/ATK 1900/OLU 1 (WATER/Fish/Xyz/Effect/Rk. 3/ATK 1900/DEF 1000)

Shark Drake bristled, and Ryoga didn't bother suppressing the stiffening of his spine. There was no more friendliness. And with prides crossed, there wouldn't be.
When Ryoga spoke, he didn't even try disguising the contempt in his tone - even though he knew such a display of emotion was something foreign.
"Is that a challenge?"
“No reason,” said Ryoga, flatly. To save time. To see if the man had any Numbers in his possession.
Ryoga blinked. “A duel?” Gauche was wasting time, despite being a WDC official? “I have better things to do.”

Ryoga smiled and drew his hand.
"I'll go first," he said, and drew his sixth card without pause. It didn't matter if IV was not ready - he soon would be.
His hand, however, had other ideas.
"I set a monster," he said, suppressing dissatisfaction at the play. "One card set. Your move."
LP: 4000 Hand: 4 Field: 1 set monster, 1 set spell/trap
IV hissed, this wasn’t good,if he dueled the boy now Tron would be extremely pissed and he didn’t want to deal with a pissed off shota. However,it didn’t seem like Ryoga was going to take no for a answer. Damn it! He’d let his jealousy and anger blind his better judgment. If he hadn’t provoked Shark in the first place he wouldn’t have this problem. Biting his lower lip,IV shot a glare twards the younger boy,”Fine.” He bitterly accepted,he’d probably have to throw the duel and this bothered him greatly.

It worked. It actually... worked.
--then he remembered it should have been AR. He just hadn't noticed, as the augmented images were his reality under the D-Gazer, but for them to actually be real--
Impossible. Then again, there were so many impossibilities in his life that impossible may have had to be redefined.
When Spear Shark returned to his side and the boy didn't react despite the wolf's vulnerable position, Ryoga scowled.
"What are you doing?" he shouted. "You think you can just pause in the middle of battle?"
Not that he knew anything about these types of battles, though.
"Again, Spear Shark! Spiral Piercing Wave!"

M!A> You now have the power over FIRE. (If you're already magic anon'd, this is added rather than replaced.)
"A--added?" said Ryoga, blinking at the screen. "Oh, fuck no." Just when he'd thought he could be rid of that nasty black emo goth hipster punk rocker tryhard get-up.
This time, he didn't suppress Shark Drake in time before the Number had him flex his hand. There was a burst of flame, then the blackened mass of twisted plastic that was once the projector fell to the ground. Soot covered his hand and the sleeve of his coat, black invisible upon black but the smell still heavy in the air.
Great. Now he'd have to go shopping again.
