chapter two: drop the chains
Tumblr media
Libitina was once the most radiant artist among the angels—a soul who painted the heavens with celestial hues, crafting skies so vivid that even mortal eyes could dream of eternity. But now, her wings were folded, stained with resentment. Her hands, once graced with divine inspiration, trembled with anger against the father who admitted he wanted her dead. The celestial canvas remained untouched.
God had watched her silent rebellion, never interfering, knowing some wounds needed to be faced—not erased. And today, He stood before her, not as a presence that commanded awe, but as a soft voice, like brushstrokes on a blank canvas.
“Libitina,” He spoke gently, “You paint with grief and fury. But what colors would your heart choose if it were free?”
She scoffed, turning away. “Free? My own father never loved me. Why should i if he never cared?"
The wind rustled through the golden fields of heaven, carrying the scent of distant stars and forgotten dreams. God walked beside her, picking up an empty canvas. With one gesture, He formed the swirling galaxies and shifting skies, painting as He spoke
“Pain is a color too, but it is not the only one.”
Libitina’s breath hitched. The strokes flowed like melodies, the hues spilled like whispers of the past. And for the first time in centuries, she wanted to paint again.
Yet, her hands wouldn’t move. The weight of resentment kept her bound. She clenched her fists. “You ask me to forgive the father who never loved me?”
God smiled—an expression so warm it filled the entire sky with light.
“No, my child. I ask you to create—not for him, but for yourself.”
The heavens held their breath. Libitina stared at the brush before her, the ink shimmering like the dawn she used to love. Her father might never see it. But she could.
And maybe, that was enough.
Slowly, her fingers traced the first stroke across the canvas.

Chapter one: Starlight chapel
Libitina drifted through the empty streets, her bare feet skimming over cold cobblestones. She was falling, in more ways than one—an angel who had lost her way, exiled to the mortal world until she could relearn the true meaning of flight. Her once magnificent wings, now faded and tattered, dragged behind her like a broken promise.
She wandered the unfamiliar city, avoiding the neon buzz of human life, searching for something—anything—that felt like home. Her body ached with an emptiness she didn’t understand, a weight that pressed against her ribs like the absence of the skies.
Then, through the heavy fog, she saw it.
A small chapel, nestled between towering buildings, untouched by time or decay. Its stained-glass windows flickered with golden candlelight, and the soft hum of a hymn escaped through the doors like a lullaby. The sight stilled her, something deep inside whispering that this was where she needed to be.
She hesitated before stepping inside.
The air was thick with the scent of burning incense and old wood, and warmth wrapped around her like unseen arms. At the altar stood Father Elias, a solemn figure cloaked in a dark robe, his eyes steady but kind as they met hers.
"You look lost," he said, voice like thunder softened by prayer.
Libitina opened her mouth to respond, but what could she say? That she had once known heaven, had once soared through celestial fields of light, and now she couldn’t even remember how to fly?
Instead, she whispered, "I don’t know where else to go."
Father Elias watched her for a moment, then gestured toward a wooden pew. "Then stay," he said simply. "Rest."
For the first time since she fell, Libitina felt the pull of something deeper than gravity. Something like belonging.
And so, beneath the glow of candlelight and the sacred whispers of prayer, she sat.
And she stayed.
Elias gave her watercolors and a sketchbook to begin to write and draw her story of healing and learning the true meaning of flight.

Hi everyone! Today, I wanted to share my must-have supplies for Art Bible Studies—the perfect mix of creativity and faith. As someone who is new to the faith but loves bringing art to life through colors, textures, and artistic expression, I’ve been researching the perfect set of tools to make each study session more immersive! Links for each item will also be there and i will add more if i remember anything

✔️ Notebook or Journal – I love keeping a separate journal for reflections, prayers, and sketches. I got mine in the 7"x5"
✔️ Highlighters & Pens – Color-coding verses makes everything pop visually. not only did i pick hearts i also found a whole bible set made by Mr Pen
🎨 Art Supplies
✔️ Watercolor Paints – Soft washes of color add beauty to journal pages.
✔️ Calligraphy Pens – Perfect for lettering verses with an elegant touch!
✔️ Colored pencils- For when not in the mood for watercolor and adding details. ✔️ Colored markers- same reasoning for colored pencils.

How Art Enhances My Bible Study
I've found that adding art to my Bible studies helps me connect more deeply with scripture. Whether it's through painting symbolic imagery or simply underlining passages that resonate with me, the process transforms learning into an act of worship.

The Art and Science of Oil Paint: A Timeless Medium
Tumblr media
Oil paint, with its rich texture and many vibrant hues, has been a beloved medium for artists for centuries. From the Renaissance masters to contemporary painters, oil paint offers unparalleled versatility and depth, making it a timeless choice for creating masterpieces. This essay will explore the history, composition, techniques, and enduring appeal of oil paint in the world of art. Warning in advance..i will use sarcasm in places.
Tumblr media
The origins of oil paint can be traced back to the 7th century, with early examples found in Afghanistan. However, it was during the Renaissance in the 15th century that oil painting truly flourished. Artists like Jan van Eyck and Leonardo da Vinci mastered the use of oil paint, revolutionizing the art world with their detailed and lifelike works. The slow drying time of oil paint allowed artists to blend colors seamlessly and build up layers, creating depth and realism that were previously unattainable. Also made me throw out everything I knew about painting IN GENERAL!
Oil paint is composed of pigments suspended in a slower than snails drying oil, usually linseed oil. The pigments provide color, while the oil acts as a binder, holding the pigment particles together and allowing them to adhere to the painting surface. Different oils, such as walnut or poppy seed oil, can be used to alter the drying time and consistency of the paint. Thinners like turpentine or mineral spirits can be added to modify the paint's viscosity and transparency, offering artists a range of textures and effects.
Oil painting techniques have evolved over centuries and threw everything i knew out the bloody window.
Imprimatura and Underpainting: An initial layer of paint applied to the canvas, often in a neutral color, to establish the tonal foundation of the painting.
Glazing: Applying thin, transparent layers of paint over a dry layer to create depth and luminosity.
Scumbling: Using a dry brush to apply a thin, opaque layer of paint over a dry layer, creating a broken color effect.
Alla Prima: Also known as "wet-on-wet," this technique involves applying wet paint directly onto wet layers, allowing for spontaneous and expressive brushwork. Also it sounded like a ballet thing when i read about this.
Advantages of Oil Paint Oil paint offers several advantages that have contributed to its enduring popularity:
Versatility: The ability to manipulate oil paint in various ways, from thicc impasto to delicate glazes, allows artists to explore a wide range of styles and techniques.
Color Depth: The richness and intensity of oil paint colors are unmatched, providing artists with the means to create vibrant and lifelike images.
Durability: Once dry, oil paint forms a robust and flexible film that can withstand the test of time. Many oil paintings from centuries past remain in excellent condition today.
Blending Capabilities: The slow drying time of oil paint enables artists to blend colors seamlessly, achieving smooth transitions and intricate details.
Challenges and Considerations Despite its many advantages, oil painting also presents some challenges:
Drying Time: The extended drying time can be both a blessing and a curse, requiring patience and careful planning. This is gonna drive me insane.
Health and Safety: Some pigments and solvents used in oil painting can be toxic. Proper ventilation and protective gear are essential to ensure a safe working environment. Why is this paint SO EXTRA!
Cost: High-quality oil paints and materials can be expensive, posing a financial challenge for some artists.
Conclusion Oil paint remains a cherished medium in the art world, celebrated for its versatility, richness, and enduring beauty. From its historical roots to modern-day practices, oil painting continues to inspire and challenge artists, pushing the boundaries of creativity and expression. Whether capturing the delicate play of light on a subject's face or the grandeur of a sweeping landscape, oil paint offers a timeless means of transforming vision into reality.

Considering the recent targeted terminations against blogs run by transfems in the last couple of days (angel-athetos, fungalfaggot, coyote-roadkill, hound-mother, corpse-of-omelas-ageplayer and my previous blog, zebrabyopn3), some close friends and myself worked on a google form where users can make submissions for their terminated blogs. Too many of us have lost our blogs and everything in them, yet there's no existing record of blogs that have been terminated, so we want to change that. If you're not a transfem you can also answer, as we want data about all deleted blogs in general, like: the name of the banned blog, date of termination, and if there was a reason given or warning for the deletion (or not)
The form consists of 8 questions and takes around 3-5 minutes to answer. We'd appreciate sharing this with anyone that has been unfairly terminated, so we can create a record, so those blogs and their names can be remembered

I got a fish book from the library and I just think everyone should know that archerfish aka the guys that spit jets of water at bugs to knock them off plants and eat them aka these guys-
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-are a social species (like a lot of fish), and that the jet spitting is actually a learned behavior rather than one they just do instinctually. They have to watch older members of their social groups do it a bunch of times (like up to thousands) before they're able to successfully do it themselves. If you take a young one and isolate it from its species, they just never get good at it (they also catch prey like "normal" fish tho, so an archerfish that can't archer won't starve just bc of that)
When they do learn to do it tho, they can compensate for light refraction, vary how much water they spit based on the size of the insect they're aiming for, and will learn to shoot insects that are midflight by spitting in the bug's flight path rather than where the bug actually is

KOKUYO Campus Notebook, Dot A 7mm Ruled, Semi-B5, 30 Sheets, 30 Lines, Pack of 5, Spy x Family Limited Edition, Japan Import review
That was a mouth full. I normally do book reviews on my other Tumblr channel, but this is a notebook which means i can use it for school and its Spy x Family meaning i have a excuse to gush about best family!
Tumblr media
So lets get the nitty gritty out of the way. This Campus notebook is a semi B5. Meaning according to japanese paper standards, It is larger than 176 x 250 mm which is a versatile bridge between office use and large-format technical documents. College ruled paper, also known as college lined paper, typically measures 8.5 x 11 inches (US Letter size) with 7.1 mm (9/32 inches) between horizontal lines. So slightly bigger than what Japans used to but the normalish...for us Americans.
Like it says on the notebook KOKUYO Campus Notebooks are made speffifically for students however i have seen stationary lovers use them for diary entries. Its 70 gsm so its basicly printer paper but is resistant to bleed through so i can use a fountain pen or a roller ball. Its also lighter so thats a major plus!
The binding is lay flat glue binding and come with a dotted ruling style. Its basically lined paper with cute small dots evenly lined across the page. Perfect for my ass who needs a book on statistics. All campus notebooks use FSC certified paper but there is also a recycled edition if you are trying to lower your footprint.
I also bought the B with the semi B and my goal is to make study diaries out of them I already have an idea of what could go 1st. I might make that another blog entry in itself.
