I know little of it.” He hadn’t often been welcome here, either, but Earth was not alone in that sentiment. “I have not been here since before my last death.”

Of course Adam would be able to see a bigger picture than the one she was painting for him, so it was no surprise when his first comment was on the gem that kept him eternally company. But she smiled none the less when he reached his hand for her own and let her fingers slide into his. They each struggled with their own demons when it came to yearning and love, but they had come together so perfectly through their lives that it seemed they would be an excellent counter to one another’s issues.  She squeezed his fingers affectionately, nodding her head in agreement. ❝ I am glad that you recognise when it’s time to be present. It seems lately I don’t lose you to the gem the way I once feel I did. ❞

Was it him or did their hands always fit this perfectly together? 

“The gem will always hold some sway over me. It can still drive my thoughts to the edge.” His eyes narrowed in contemplation. Inside the gem was soul world, a peaceful place and host for all the souls the gem had consumed in its hunger. It doubled as a cage for his other selves: Magus and Goddess. While he knew the majority of the denizens were at peace, that did not mean the soul gem left him at peace. Its very nature unraveled his mind in ways he couldn’t explain. 

He breathed deep and let his thumb glide along the sinews of her hand. The contact was comforting. “Learning to master my emotions has made it easier to reign in. Beside that, where I once feared life, I find myself enjoying it now. In fact, it makes little sense without you.”

Adam’s eyes lifted, but his hand remained in hers. “How do you think Alteza is faring?”

She stiffened, slightly irritated that he would call her out on the rigidity of her attempts at meditation. Taking a deep breath, she glanced over her shoulder at him and allowed her back to sag slightly. ❝ I am struggling with the relaxation part, if I am honest. ❞ Gamora sighed, ❝ I am finding all my thoughts too jumbled to put into words. ❞

“I do not believe that is the point of meditation, but if you wish to try and put your thoughts into words then I’m willing to listen.” Meditation was more about letting go of your thoughts, though Adam wasn’t very good at that himself. Sometimes, one needed to sit on an asteroid in space and dwell on their thoughts. “What is on your mind?”

I’ve been a little obsessed with finding spots where Adam bleeds in the comics because I could not for the life of me ever remember it happening. However, the M.agus arc held the answers! 

Mostly I was curious because I just couldn’t ever remember seeing it happen so I wanted to know how hard it was to break his skin, but actually looking at this....idk if skin was broke. The first one seems to be coming from inside his mouth, and the second from inside his nose and the rim of his eye. Which are more vulnerable spots in general. I generally I go with that it’s hard to hurt him in that manner, since he was artificially constructed as a weapon of war. If I find more I guess I’ll post them though.

❝  i do not speak lies, adam warlock.  ❞       he defends his words.  he wasn’t a fan of his words being questioned.  but despite drax’s words ringing true, adam himself wasn’t wrong, either.  his jaw set for a brief moment, gaze moving from the golden entity before him.        ❝  but …  you are correct.  there is no greater pain i have felt  —  physical nor emotional.  my family was very important to me.  ❞

A nod to show that he understood, yet it seemed he had been right at least somewhat. “I am sorry for their loss. No life should be taken away prematurely.” When he had known him, understanding Thanos had required a deft hand and a tactical approach, yet he had found him easier to understand as time went on. It didn’t mean he approved of his actions, for he rarely did. 

“You are right: Avenging them was a great accomplishment, as was allowing yourself to move on. It is not so easy a thing to do.” Drax seemed to fit in well with the Guardians of the Galaxy. Adam had yet to find a place where he fit, so to speak, but perhaps that was his lot in life. Even if he had fond memories of his travels with Pip and Gamora.

                         With  every  passing  day,  meetings  like  this  one  are  inching  closer  and  closer  to  becoming  Kamala’s  normal.  Still…  it’s  kind  of  hard  to  keep  from  pinching  herself,  standing  in  front  of  another  being  from  beyond  the  stars.  “  —  wait,  is  that  a  real  thing?  Pirates  in  space?  There  are  space  pirates?  For  real?  ”

“I’m unsure if they call themselves such but yes. Perhaps they would prefer the term mercenaries. The self-proclaimed granddaughter of Thanos, Nebula, calls herself such and operates in a similar fashion to space pirates.” He had ran into her on occasion, most notably during the whole debacle with the Infinity Gauntlet. Whether they were related, he didn’t know, but the two shared similar traits on occasion.

“I’ve worked with earth’s heroes on occasion.” Never the most pleasant of occasions but certainly on occasion. He had...varied opinions on them. “There are certainly enough of you to keep one planet in check. How is it that earth attracts so much trouble?”

        “HE’S A SADISTIC TYRANT who’s ordered the annihilation of civilizations across the galaxy and enslaved countless more.” vegeta muttered bitterly, taking pause in his training exercises to cross his arms over his chest. he wasn’t fully healed yet but no one had been in the room to stop him from getting up when he’d awoken. ”after fighting you and your friend, i don’t think he deserves to get what he wants this time so it might be in your best interest to leave before i change my damn mind.”

Adam had traveled through parts of the universe but it seemed he had been lucky enough (or pre-occupied enough with other events) that he had not encountered Frieza or his men. It had been the same with the Magus, but he and his church were no longer a menace to this timeline. 

Tyrants would always lurk in parts of the galaxy.

“I remember the facility, but only vaguely before I destroyed it.” His awakening had been fraught with chaos. The memories were now jumbled. 

Adam seemed to ignore Vegeta’s warning as he continued to speak. “Why leave? Tyrants such as he should be stopped. Is that not your goal?”

“Funny, woulda thought all the shiny lookin’ tights would want a pretty gold helm of power.” Well, chock that one up on failed assumptions… “Wouldn’t even be on the long list of drinking buddies so not wrong.”

“Power I already have in spades and it has brought me nothing but grief.” No, he had no wish nor need for more, especially given his nature. “Hmm, my usual drinking buddy is a troll. A dear friend of mine, in fact. I have a vague notion that you two might get along.” Though to see the Pip and Adam together, one might not think they were even friends. They were an odd pair.

“Y’know you kinda remind me of a fella… all you’re missin’ is a gaudy gold helmet and you’d both match.”

“I’ve never had need of a helmet, much less a gaudy one.” He actually had a low opinion of such egoism. “You don’t sound fond of this person.”

they never explain why his skin turns from gold to purple. and it can’t be anything to do with the in-betweener because during infinity war magus is also purple and that magus was a result of current adam just divesting himself of his good and evil halves. and he never took future!magus into his soul gem, he just wholesale erased that timeline. so ?????
