Hey, so I've been having trouble focusing on writing and I feel like my work needs more love and attention than the memes that are riddling my desktop
For that reason, I'm probably going to deactivate this account.
I'm gonna give it about a month before doing so, but during that month I will be inactive on this account.
The only reason I'm giving it a month is so you guys can spread the word and follow my new blog which will be dedicated mostly to No Sleep Club and writing in general.
I feel like this blog kinda lost sight of what I was originally here for, which was to write. Instead of bettering my writing, it kind of distracted me from writing.
So if y'all are gonna miss me and wanna see more of me and my work, please follow me at @nosleepclubblogs you'll know it when you see it (I may have to go back and fix this link I dunno if it worked)
Love you all so much and thank you for everything
I hope to see you all again my Sleepless Peeps! Catch ya on the dark side!

Needing a Change
I'm thinking about doing that thing people do when they take their blogs and they either erase them or they purge them completely
I dunno I feel cluttered and its screwing with my head a bit
Plus if I cleanse my blog or make a new one I can make No Sleep Club my main and do spin off ones instead of struggling to maintain this blog when it isn't really my main one anymore
Just wanted to I guess hear y'alls opinion and maybe feedback?
This may just be like a spur of the moment idea or some shiz

Hahaha
I don't do face reveals
This be as good as ya getting for now fams
Just wanted to test this out
why do people look like their art styles so much like they don’t look exactly like it but you can look at a person then at their art then back at the person and be like “yes, this is definitely the person who drew this”

to other mentally ill artists who are obsessed with getting better
- Finished Pieces TM are NOT the only works that matter. That half-lined sketch is good. That page of nothing but shapes and doodles is progress. If you’re doing whatever it is that you CAN do that day, you’re doing well
- take. BREAKS. as often as you need to. stop when you gotta. if you try to dig into tomorrow’s spoons to finish something, trust me, you’re going to hate yourself and whatever you’re working on later
- if you really want to, you CAN draw (or paint, or sculpt, or craft etc.) every day
- everything counts. everything. can’t draw for more than 20 minutes today? you drew. less than 5? you drew. take a pencil and draw three different circles on a sticky note. you drew. lay out your arm and trace whatever comes to mind with you finger. everything counts.
- if you drew SOMETHING today, you gained more experience than someone who did not
- draw whatever you want
- reward yourself for it
- don’t get so wrapped up in something that you forget to eat, drink water or sleep please. if you can’t make yourself care about what it does to your body, remember it WILL affect your productivity, which will lead to Bad Times, again, trust me
- you are SOMEONE’S art goals
- your art is good
- “this person doesn’t know me or my art, how do they know it’s good-” shh. doesn’t matter. its good

I'm a Libra born close to the Scorpio phase and like all of this is relatable????
scorpio rising things
🤐 they may appear jokey and dreamy. But there is always an underlying vibe of ‘dont fuck with me’
🤐 creative! Drawn to the arts
🤐 keeps on top of their shit
🤐 parts of their childhood may have involved family members keeping secrets from them. Or their family being secretive in general, so they had to develop their detective skills.
🤐 probably prefers dark tones in clothing
🤐 air of mystery to these people. You feel they’re not telling you the whole story...
🤐 hard to reach sometimes....they had to make themselves emotionally numb in order to cope with their overwhelming upbringing
🤐 deep down are very loyal though. They remember who has their back and who doesn’t...
🤐 very witty and fast in their speech...you have to keep up with them
🤐 like an aries rising, these people view life as something to fight for or even a battlefield. Both Aries and Scorpio are ruled by the planet Mars.
🤐 as they grow older, they learn to put themselves first
🤐 these people demand self-respect from the people around them. If they’re not receiving it, then they will simply look elsewhere

the main thing I love about us bookworms is that we all have that one series or that one book (or multiple) that means the world to us, and we can always feel at home talking/thinking/rereading those books.

Medicated but still struggling?
As I’ve said a few times, you can be taking ADHD medication but still struggling to start/ do work. This is because on top of the problems directly caused by the ADHD (Executive Dysfunction), we also have the secondary effects (anxiety/ learned helplessness/ etc).
Tumblr media
If 70% of our difficulties is caused by the ED and the rest by the secondary stuff, then as you can see from the ridiculously unnecessary chart, even if you take medication, you could still be struggling.
Meds don’t teach you to self motivate.. to deal with failure.. to get past the secondary effects, you still need to learn coping mechanisms (and counselling, if you can).
This is not meant to be anti meds. Fuck no, I need my meds to function.
This is just a reminder that medication is not a cure.
Medication + Coping mechanisms is the best way to get a handle on our ADHD.

Member of the “Sorry, I didn’t hear what you just told me, because there are those two people talking 5 meters away, a child crying on the opposite sidewalk, and 3 cars passing by, on all of which my brain focused and put at equal volume in my ear instead of politely putting your sound first” squad

I have an autistic roommate and this is so important to me. She means the world to me and having this and having had to learn this first hand makes this post so much more necessary
Social skills: noticing when repetition is communication
So there’s this dynamic:
Autistic person: The door is open!
Other person: I *know* that. It’s hot in here.
Autistic person: The door is open!
Other person: I already explained to you that it’s hot in here!
Autistic person: The door is open!
Other person: Why do you have to repeat things all the time?!
Often when this happens, what’s really going on is that the autistic person is trying to communicate something, and they’re not being understood. The other person things that they are understanding and responding, and that the autistic person is just repeating the same thing over and over either for no reason or because they are being stubborn and inflexible and obnoxious and pushy.
When what’s really happening is that the autistic person is not being understood, and they are communicating using the words they have. There’s a NT social expectation that if people aren’t being understood, they should change their words and explain things differently. Sometimes autistic people aren’t capable of doing this without help.
So, if this is happening, assume it’s communication and try to figure out what’s being communicated. If you’re the one with more words, and you want the communication to happen in words, then you have to provide words that make communication possible. For example:
Other person: Do you want the door to be closed, or are you saying something else?
Autistic person: Something else
Other person: Do you want to show me something outside, or something else?
Autistic person: Something else
Other person: Are you worried about something that might happen, or something else?
Autistic person: Worried
Other person: Are you worried that something will come in, or that something will go out?
Autistic person: Baby
Other person: She’s in her crib, and the baby gate is up. Is that ok, or is there still a problem?
Autistic person: ok
