I did not even know this image existed until I updated my blog earlier and searched through some of the concept art of the wiki. Why wasn’t this addressed in Inquisition? This is a much more accurate portrayal of what being an apostate during the rebellion would look like. The Templars are a fucking army. The mages are just people who’d very much like to live their lives. Look at that super dangerous mother running away with her infant child. Gosh, who let her out of prison? The most disturbing mage in the image is the blood mage, and they’re clearly terrified. They think they’re about to die. They think a mother and child are about to die. Meanwhile, the army of Templars on the horizon nearly made me shit my pants. Those are people ready to kill indiscriminately.

But yeah, this conflict is morally grey.

What are your favourite things about leliana??? I enjoy her character and want her to be my warden's romance but I've been finding it really difficult to become attached to her :(

She is so full of optimism and really is your party’s light of hope (it’s heartbreaking to see how this changes in DA:I when she is so full of grief over Justinia’s death, and the weight of being the Inquisition Spymaster)

Her empathy, the way she cares for total strangers as if she’s known them all her life, always feeling there’s time to help others

How enthusiastic and passionate she is about telling stories

She’s one of the few examples of a good Chantry person, and an example of what the Chantry should be about instead of politics and vying for their own power, and she is quick to point this out herself, too

Her inner strength and resilience is inspiring; she’s the epitome of the Troubled Birds’ “I’ve been through hell and come out singing,” like IDK if you’ve played the Leliana’s Song DLC yet but you totally should. (There are no big spoilers, you can play anytime, and it will give you good armour for her in the main game if you complete one of the side quests)

How she responds to being told what she was saying was racist, sincerely analyzing her privilege, realizing why what she said was wrong and apologizing for it without making it about her/getting defensive. Then from that point on she is not a repeat offender because she legitimately cares

In fact she goes on to be one of the best allies to mages and non-humans, especially notable in DA:I and especially if she becomes Divine

Before Cassandra, even before Ariane, she was the franchise’s first example of a Strong Female Character not having to sacrifice her femininity and vulnerability to be a stone cold badass

She’s so unapologetically bi and happy being bi and open about her love for the warden regardless of gender; this was the first time I had ever seen such in media when I first played DA:O, and Leliana will always hold a very special place in my heart for helping me come to terms with my own sexuality as a lesbian

Family~ Just couldn’t bother with full armour for everyone. I saw the Sacred Ashes-trailer not long ago and since then, Morrigan’s robes in the trailer became canon for me. (You know her personal mission when you get a robe for her whith better stats - the first time I was so happy, “wow maye she can cover up a bit now”. Boy was I disappointed. (Then I went through the same thing with Jack in ME2.)) Also, I don’t have any DLCs (ugh) so I’ve never played with Shale, but I still love her. Will probably neverrr colour.
