I’ve written 56 fics this year, all FirstPrince, which equates to almost 1,000 words per day (not including drabbles and WIPs.) This fandom has been so open and supportive and I’m so grateful for the growth I’ve had as a writer and the friends I’ve made along the way, especially @emmalostinwonderland @cactusdragon517 and @jackzimmermemes. Y’all were my biggest support systems this year and I wouldn’t be the writer I am without you three.

A 5+1 that has some of my favorite moments and quotes. My first attempt at something a bit longer. It’s technically a multichap but I was so tempted to post it as one long fic so I don’t know if I could call it that.

Started off with one of my favorite fics I’ve ever written. this is the start of boudie-verse featuring trans Henry and boudoir photographer Alex. I am so proud of this fic and I have more plans for this ‘verse next year. Shout out to Hann for the beautiful fanart I finally added to the fic in the past few days.

The Joys of Mild Narcissism (E, 3.7k, fluff and crack, movie/book fusion)

March also resulted in my first ever collab with the lovely @cactusdragon517. This was such a fun experience and I would do it again any time.

the stars are in your eyes (T, 6.1k)

My first intentional AU based off a lot of chatter in the brownstone and my first fic to really do numbers, which was so wild for me. I did not expect the reception on this one in the slightest and I was so thankful for it (and still am)

PURE FLUFF AND CRACK. A David POV that I have been talking about since I started writing for the fandom and I finally finagled the way I wanted it. Pure silliness. All vibes.

My first addition to the demi Alex Claremont-Diaz tag. I am very much a demi ACD truther and this was a super personal one for me. This is one of the fics I’m still most attached to, to this day.

Silly AU smut with librarian Henry and Drag Queen Alex. This fic resulted in my favorite and most wild comment ever so this one still holds a special place in my heart

Started April with the shortest fic I’ve written to date, not including drabbles. Some silly smut for @absoluteaudacitywrites ‘smut Saturday’ event.

Based on an idea from Ishita through the brownstone that they let me run with. I also consider this a bit of redemption for my first fic which was ALSO a dating app AU, but this one is definitely more well written and less messy overall.

The second part of boudie-verse and an excuse for me to try writing wax play for the first time.

tell me again when you don’t have a fever (G, 2.4k)

The first of many times I’ve written a fic with the express purpose of cheering someone up. This little fluffy fic still makes my heart happy

climbin’ on my desire (E, 4.4k, T4T firstprince, AU)

This fic was a combo of me needing a brain break from the angsty stuff my brain was focusing on at the time and wanting to add more T4T firstprince to ao3, nothing more deep than that, really.

My second cheer up fic! A cute, fluff-tastic, canon-compliant ficlet that really sums up what I love about Alex and Henry

May

The reason I only had 3 fics in May is because I’m 98% sure I was hyperfocused on my Royally Big Bang fic at this point AND I was in Japan for two weeks. I DID a LOT of writing on Shinkansens and hotel rooms—my husband can attest.

I also wrote a fic on the 14 hour flight to Japan, which is this one. It’s based on a twitter prompt and writing from Shaan’s POV was a challenge that I really enjoyed

see it all in bloom (T, 3.7k)

Based on a rizcriz prompt; I really leaned into Henry’s anxieties in this one and I loved weaving the theme of growth through the fic. This one is definitely soft.

graves in a different state (take your time) (T, 7.7k)

This is still one of my favorite fics, even all these months later. This was a prompt from Emma and I ran hard with it. June is one of my favorite characters in the book and i resonate a lot with her character and I really wanted to explore the relationships between her and her family while also exploring the “what if” of her and Alex having a falling out and how to reconnect. this and its companion piece in Alex’s POV (which I posted exactly a week later, I’m pretty sure) mean the world to me

An offering for pride and the brownstone’s RWRB Gender Funky Fest. This is trans Alex going through top surgery with Henry by his side and a showing of love, acceptance and support

took the long way back to you (T, 7.7 k)

The companion piece to graves in a different state from Alex’s POV. I speed ran this after a few people asked for it in the comments, which just speaks to how much inspo comes from my people pleasing tendencies /hj

My second offering for genderfunky fest due to Alex’s reaction to being called a ‘bride’, and the third part of boudie-verse. I really love this fic so much.

My first foray into the good ship dos bastardos with some boomer jokes thrown in for @jackzimmermemes

Another conversation on the brownstone spawned a fic. (It’s a recurring theme). I tried to make this pretty light hearted for a fic involving a cancer diagnosis without making a joke of it. This is really more of a commentary on the media and how they treat celebrities, which, ick

when did cupid start throwing real darts? (T, 2.1k)

I don’t remember what mood I was in when I decided to write Alex and Henry getting into a fight and making up later but I know I wanted to really focus on it being true to them rather than exaggerating it TOO much. I feel like this is more hopeful ending than happy ending because it isn’t truly resolved, but this is still one of my favorite angst offerings I’ve written yet.

rest your weary head (T, 2.6k)

This fic holds a special place in my heart because I’m just really proud of how I wrote it. I was also lucky enough to get the fic turned into a pod fic through a fic exchange and that really was a big moment for me as a writer—to hear my words read by someone else out loud. It makes my heart warm just thinking about it. This is based off art which is linked in the fic itself

July

scream to be heard (T, 4.4k)

I started July off with angst. So for those who DON’T know, being a therapist is my day job. I have touched on it in a few other blurbs but exploring relationship dynamics is my bread and butter, and I have some angsty head canons for Alex and family, pre-canon. This was one of them as discussed with Eli, Emma, and Chrissy.

This fic is a rewrite of my original concept for RBB, which I scrapped and then went with witsec. I loved this idea but I got intimidated by the idea of rewriting canon and telling the story about Alex and Nora instead. I sat on it and finally ended up with sad, single Alex way past divorce, and out and confident Henry and what their relationship would look like in that situation. I really love this one a lot.

you say sorry just for show (T, 1.4k)

Really went in on the pre-canon angst. I went with Ellen POV on this one, which was a challenge because I definitely have some strong feelings re: Ellen and her parenting and I think that comes through sometimes in my writing

i wish you knew me the way i knew you (T, 4.9k)

This was for a brownstone event and I think this is the first fic I created my own moodboard for. Writing for other people is a huge kick in the butt for me to put out my best work and I’m proud of this one

he always knows what i need (T, 2k)

My most popular fic to date and sometimes I’m like ??? in the most non complainy way possible. This was yet another cheer up fic (more of those coming up in the next few months) and it definitely shows off the non verbal communication Alex and Henry have.

it’s so easy to take care of you (T, 2.3k)

Started July with angst, ended July with fluff. This is just a sweet fic of Alex getting to spend time with pals and Henry taking care of him after getting sloshed. The friends included in the fic are borrowed with permission

August

do nothing days (G, 1.7k)

Started off the month with fluff! Based off fan art. I don’t have much to say on this one

Entirely based on CMQ saying Alex would be a rugby player in the Olympics and Henry would be on the sailing team. Also featuring cuteness aggression and smut

Another cheer up fic! This is based off Henry coming out of a depressive episode and how he and Alex navigate that. I gave it some post canon vibes and put them in Austin. This is a personal fave

I am so proud of this fic and this story and i have more plans for this universe coming next year. I really loved taking canon elements but making it an AU and finding ways to fit things into this world. This story definitely has my whole heart

This was for the brownstone server’s firstprince week. I PLANNED to write a fic a day but that didn’t happen because i was burnt a bit, but i did get some words down. This is a bit of feelings exploration for Henry and Alex being a good partner about it

Another firstprince week offering, this time fluffy with some hurt/comfort and canonically clumsy ACD. This one was very much a fic based on vibes

MY QUIRKY LITTLE BABY. This fic is definitely written out of love. I am a HUGE D&D/TTRPG NERD and I wanted to find a way to marry it into firstprince. This one is definitely NICHE, but the people who have read it really picked up what I was putting down and I’m so grateful for that

November

November was the month of Anywhere With You Fest. Three of the fics I’m gonna share were from that event. I volunteered as a pinch hitter twice and I’m so glad I did.

Like I said, one of my Anywhere With You prompts. I also wrote it as Demi Alex because it fit the story. I also had a wonderful experience with my beta and they really made this story better.

One of my pinch hitter fics for AWY. I had so much fun with this prompt and thinking about how to make it work

3/3 for AWY. This one was a challenge because I was asked to write strictly in movie verse which means no June, no Raf, or some other characters who I would’ve loved to slide in. I made it work and I loved writing a firefighter AU

Based off a Twitter convo, based on CMQ’s annotations about Henry’s panicked texts. I got to continue using the text formatting I learned. I had so much fun with it. A lot of people asked for me to add more and I feel like I did my best with it

Ended November on a VERY personal note. This fic is a bit autobiographical, while still being solely about firstprince. I had been working on the fic on and off for a while before the inspo came to me to really dig into it. And then I ended up posting it on my dad’s birthday of all days, so this one hits SUPER close to home and the response has been so kind

hello! I’m alive!! I’ve been terrible at being active on tumblr but for those who are interested I am writing. I finished my d&d isekai fic and it should be going up by the end of the month and I have a cute fic for Halloween in the works too plus my fics for @anywhere-with-you-event that are submitted and ready to go

Alex is also shocked because it’s so busy. Up until now, they were traversing through unpopulated locales. Phandalin is a ghost town in comparison to everything Neverwinter is. In a strange, fractured way, Neverwinter reminds him of how he felt when he first moved to Brooklyn. It’s chaotic and booming, but he’s sure there are quiet corners and secret nooks that are begging to be explored.

The thing is? They aren’t here for that. They’re here to find this unnamed wizard who owes Bea a favor (once she gives him an old spell book in return for something she did) and find a way for Alex and Henry to go home so they can go back to the lives they had before they woke up in Faerun.

Pez knocks Alex from his thoughts with the penultimate question: “So, Beadewyn, where is your wizard? We need to get our friends home soon. We can’t train them forever.”

Bea rolls her eyes. “He isn’t mine. And Athravras should be at The Cloak Tower. It’s a Wizard citadel in the aptly named ‘Tower District’.”

Alex notices Henry’s eyes on him, and he mouths the name of the Wizard. It doesn’t hit Alex initially, but once he turns it over in his mind his eyes widen, realizing what Henry might be implying. Sure, there have been some odd coincidences, but there’s no possibility it could be…

Henry shakes his head, pushing sun-kissed hair from his face, and Alex’s heart clenches for a second. The idea of this wizard looking like Henry’s late father is…not the strangest thing they’ve seen in this strange situation they’ve landed in, but Alex doesn’t know how it will affect Henry if it’s true.

No matter what happens, he’ll be there for Henry. It’s what he does. It’s what he’s always done.
