A day in the Life of an Elementary Education Student
A day in the Life of an Elementary Education Student
– Can you tell me a little about yourself?
I am 23 years old. I have been an LLCC student at the Springfield campus since I was 18. I initially started my program (Elementary Education) back in August of 2018. It has taken me so long to complete my program – mostly due to myself. I went through two different periods of the whole “this is taking forever, so I am going to make it take longer and…

I have lived in Illinois all my life. Living in Illinois there are corn fields everywhere, maybe even a cattle farm or two. There are a lot of Illinois Preserves mostly in Northern Illinois. I am a Central Illinois girl I am always finding and going on lovely adventure, and the writer in me loves telling the stories about how beautiful the sunrises and sets are over the corn and soybeans. Read on to hear my uncharacteristically brief thoughts on the subject.
The Corn and soybean fields are found throughout the Midwest and more prominent in Central and Southern parts of Illinois due to Chicago and the suburbs being in a bigger area up north. Central and Southern Illinois is a lovely place for a long drive if you’d like seeing fields of crops, farms, the sunsets, or if you need convincing that, yes, there are hills here. The sunsets are extremely amazing to see, especially over or even through the corn in the fields, as well as watching the sky change colors.
As you can see it is so beautiful, as is our cows.
I love being able to have different perspectives of our cows and seeing them up close.
Although, I do advise you to always be cautious being around our girls and especially our bull!
You can see I can get up close to this little one, who was born just 5 weeks ago! This is noteworthy because most of the mams will charge at you because they don’t want you to hurt their calf. I should have gotten a picture but she was laying in my lap staying warm. Her mama is actually my best friend. She loves me and is protective of me, like I one of her babies. That’s why I think she was okay with me near her calf and that I didn’t keep the mama away either. Our mama’s personalities are very different but at the same time loves us because we feed them, care for them, and we are nurturing even to the mamas. We have so many different and wonderful stories from all of our cows. I love all my cows though, not one is alike!
We always keep them happy and comfortable. We usually keep them in hay and they have a wind shelter to be able to go under for any reason at all.
Ready to wrap it up with a life lesson? I’m an Illinois girl, so I think the cattle on farms are beautiful, though I don’t mind admitting that its beauty is less obvious than, for instance, the ostentatious glamour of lush Hawaiian gardens or majestic Swiss peaks. I love traveling to these gorgeous locations, but I think it’s good for me to live my day-to-day life on my humble farm. Why? Because these farms teach me to look for beauty in the here and now—to hunt for farm animals amid otherwise barren locations and to notice unique surprises along my ordinary path. They are there! But I have to look for them.
How can you look for beauty in your here and now?
I am an Illinois Girl I have lived in Illinois all my life. Living in Illinois there are corn fields everywhere, maybe even a cattle farm or two.

25 Days of Blogmas: Introduction
It’s Officially December! Which means to time of 25 days of blogmas. It’s time to transition from Thanksgiving to Christmas. This has always been my favorite time of year. It’s not winter until closer to Christmas, it sure feels like it though. We may not have snow but I have seen frozen puddles or frost on trees.
Christmas will be here before we know it!
So, let me help you get geared up…

How to be More Productive
How to be More Productive
Productivity is one the things I struggle most with. Especially around finals, I can’t seem to find proper motivation! And even once I find it, I can seem to get anything done. I sit at my desk with the best intentions, and before I know it, a 10-minute study break turns into an hour of reblogging stuff on Twitter. Needless to say that I don’t get anything done while doing that.
  So I…

Be Fit and Stay Smiling
Be Fit and Stay Smiling
Confession: I actually really enjoy working out. Call me crazy but I do. If I can get my lazy booty to my home gym; I enjoy it sooo much. The adrenaline is addicting.
Working Out: A blog post about working out. Where do I even start? I am not a work out expert by any means. Not even close. I’m an amateur on this subject. But I figured I could share some tricks tips to make the workout process…

This past week flew by incredibly too quickly. I say it all the time, but time flies. Seriously. Where does the time go? I can’t believe my week at home/break from school is already over and it’s back to hitting the books for the end of the semester. And boy will I be glad when this semester college thing is over and done with. Words can NOT explain.

5 Tips for When You are In Love
5 Tips for When You are In Love
You know those women who just make being in love and happy look like pure magic? Mary is one of them in my opinion. She makes love look so amazing, beautiful, and easy; she writes and her loves, food, and more on Eat Drink & Be Mary. When I fell in love, I didn’t even realize it until I read about it and other people had told me. I love reading her blog! For more about Mary follow her instagram (…

You Know You're dating a Country Boy When...
You Know You're dating a Country Boy When…
Country boys. I mean what is not to love? To be honest, I love my man. Country or not. I know he’s a true down home, country boy. Not this girl. I can’t get enough of it.
In the south the boys raised to be gentlemen, their accents are sweet and the sweet tea sweeter. They cook. They hunt. They can bait a hook and shoot any target They drive trucks and wear boots. What’s not to love? I mean…

So, I Fell In Love with a Firefighter
So, I Fell In Love with a Firefighter
Call me crazy, but I believe in love at first sight. But I don’t believe you love them, I think of it more  as crush at first sight. You can’t really love someone until you know them even if it’s only just a little. Sometimes you don’t realize it’s love until the second or third or two hundredth sight, but I believe the love was there during that first glance. I believe this because I’ve felt it.

My Ghosts of My Lovers Past
My Ghosts of My Lovers Past
Not to long ago, I read a post on Eat Drink and Be Mary by Mary who wrote a post on her dating horror stories & hosted a link up for others to join in.  Even though I’m way late to the party, like three years too late I still want in on the action.  So here’s my version. My Ghosts of  My Lovers Past.
It should be known I was not to be dating until I was 16 and he had to meet my parents before we…

How to Write an Amazing College Paper
How to Write an Amazing College Paper
Doing any kind of assignment is hard. At least for me, I am a procrastinator. I also don’t like doing essays because I never know when or how to start the introduction.
Once, I get started it is easy to finish. I have already written two papers out of 4 for my drama class. I would assume for my second English class I will be doing more. Here are my tips and advice when writing a college paper.

Living a Healthy Lifestyle
Living a Healthy Lifestyle
Depending where you live, you don’t always need that “bikini ready” body. With fall approaching quickly (a little too quickly, if you ask me), it’s easy to fall into a fitness slump, considering you can hide behind bulky sweaters and layers upon layers of clothing. But I’m here to tell you not to do that!
Staying healthy in college is a major concern for many people when heading away to college.…

How Do I Set Up my Planner for College
How Do I Set Up my Planner for College
I am not always good at staying organized. I really used to have mental breakdowns because I didn’t know what was due and on what day.
I know this because the first week of classes I was given all my syllabi outlined with their many assignments and told about the ones not on them and I practically died. Not because it was too much, but because I had no where to write everything down and keep it…
