I'm giving up

I worked for a year with this horse, to fulfill my dream to compete in a dressage competition, but in this year the bad lessons were always more than the good ones. There were times where i thought i got it right, that from that moment on riding would go better. In the last period it went down, every time i rode him, i or we i( don't even know whose fault is anymore), it for worse. So...i'm giving up....i tried really really hard, i swear, i cried so many times because nothing worked, but i always went back, to try one more time, to give it another chance... just hoping. Nothing seems to work out and i don't know what to do anymore.

He stayed down and let me itch him while he rolled. Becoming this from the horse he was two years ago when he was hard to catch and constantly worried is such a huge deal. He’s a big ham now. Still worried around men and new people but much more tolerant and super trusting of those he knows as “his” people that handle him every day.
