Business Development Director
http://micecareers.com/job/business-development-director-you-search-select/
Business Development Director
Tumblr media
If you’re happy and you know it clap your hands,
If you’re happy and you know it, oh, I see you’re not clapping,
Is that because whenever you tell people you’re in ‘business development’ they roll their eyes and say, ‘that’s just sales’?
Well, unfortunately, that’s the kicker of being a top performer, people want to knock you down, but if those people are within your organisation then take it from me, it’s time to move on.
If you’re reading this and you know there’s nowhere to go up in your company as your boss isn’t going anywhere and you’ve become part of ‘the machine’ without even knowing it, it’s time to move on
If an opportunity presents itself to lead from the front, recruit your own team and create, develop and implement strategy sat with the MD not underneath, then only you know if it’s time to move on.
Which leads me not so subtlety to the opportunity we have.
Let us be frank, this opportunity is all about sales, strategy, marketing and winning new business.
It takes a special kind of person to stand up and say, yes that’s what I’m all about and I love it.
We know why.. money, fame and glory?
Well, that’s a by-product, of course, however, the person who’s going to take this job wears their heart on their sleeve, loves working with a team and is champing at the bit to have their ideas listened to and most importantly, acted upon.
Based in Central London this Live Events agency has a reputation for punching above its weight, bloodying the noses of the so-called ‘big boys & girls’ because they understand the client is the most important entity, not who shouts the loudest.
They need your help though. They need the help of a successful BD professional who is looking to take more of a leadership role in both sales and marketing as well as working on the NB strategy for the group.
Yes, that’s right, the group.
Although this agency might seem small from the outside, it has revenue of £2.3m and is part of a £30m group that leaves it to its own devices. Add on a 20+ year trading history and more well-known brands as clients than you can shake a stick at means you will be armed to the teeth the next time a prospective client asks you, “can you show us some case studies please” or “prove to us you have the experience”
So, there you have it.
A bona fide business development opportunity that isn’t knocking on doors, banging the phones until your fingers bleed and playing the numbers game, but is, and let’s not ignore this, going to be a tough gig at the start but with a 2-year plan to the top table on offer, a great chance to write your own ticket.
If this opportunity sounds like your cup of tea, please get in touch for a confidential chat to.
If this role doesn’t sound like you but you know someone who’d be keen, please share as we run a £1,000 referral scheme.
About YOU Search & Select (the recruiter)
With more than 16 years’ experience in the recruitment and events sector, we’re ideally placed to help people find the right role for them and their career.
We understand looking for a new role isn’t about words on a piece of paper, it’s personal and as such needs a personal touch.
We place people in roles that match their individual aspirations and motivations with companies who are looking for the right personality as well as skills, we call this FitabilityÂŽ
Our website has a full list of live roles so please have a look or share with a friend as we also run a £1,000 referral scheme. www.yousas.co.uk/vacancies
