I really enjoyed your demo. I love mc and their dynamic with their family is so messy. I look forward to seeing their sibling and siblings bestie.

So far i think C is the cutestest but i think all the ROs seem interesting so far.

I must say tho I'm so superstitious. I'm the girl that would leave the entire house behind and all my belongings if i thought i had ghosts. I'm the person that gets frustrated at horror movies. So i would've been GONEEEEEEEEEE if i was MC.

Haha, I did, hello! I’ve never done like any of this before… took me a while to figure out that asks were even off. But now I hope anyone totally feels free to send them in! I’m actually so excited tbh- this is the first ask I’ve gotten!

You’ll be meeting MC’s brother pretty soon- he can’t just let his little sibling disappear out of nowhere (again)!

Okay, your ask really made me laugh lol. I haven’t intentionally written it to be spooky yet- but the whole situation is definitely inherently pretty weird! Who knows… maybe Mr. Wagner never left… haha.

Charlotte can certainly be a demon in some ways! I’m very excited to introduce her. She might have a few “Poltergeist” antics, but, doesn’t any baby?

The Fine Print - An Interactive Fiction WIP

Summary!!

You've finally escaped from your parents. Your whole life, you've been living in a gilded cage- now is the time you can change that.

When your best friend sets you up with a killer rental agreement, you know this is your chance. For a monthly rent that is practically pennies, you can live in a mansion. ...With some roommates. But everything has its drawbacks, right?

You just didn't know exactly what those drawbacks were until it was already too late. Only moments after you and your new roommates signed your respective lengthy agreements, your landlord-to-be promptly collapses to the floor- dead.

Only moments after his still-warm body is carried from the room, his lawyer helpfully informs the five of you that it is time to fulfill your contractual obligations.

What are these, exactly?

Well, the five of you now share possession of your landlord's entire estate. Yay!

You are also now all the legal guardians of his only grandchild- eleven-month-old Charlotte.

Perhaps you should have read the fine print.

Romance Options

Avery Jamie Day - Your best friend since basically forever. They've been with you through thick and thin- they were even instrumental in helping you get away from your parents. Has there been something between you all this time, that only now, in such a unique situation- and close quarters- is finally allowed to grow? Or is something new developing, creeping through your hearts like ivy across the old bricks of your new shared abode?

The first thing that comes to mind when you think of Avery is how familiar they are. It seems like barely anything has changed with them since you met them- you know, of course, it has. Their ash blond hair has probably darkened a little, became more of a light brown. Their lightly tanned skin is mostly the same, but maybe they are slowly losing their youthful freckles. They're taller, obviously, and they're certainly in shape- they make sure to be, for their work as a paramedic. But their bright hazel eyes, and that smile that always grace their face when you meet, seems no different. No different at all.

Shelley Bronte - One of your new roommates- regretfully. They seem to have a chip on their shoulder (if you are to use the nicer analogy...) constantly. You're supposed to be living with this person, but you don't know if you'll be able to manage it- maybe you'll wind up running back to your parents just to rant about their antics. Sometimes, though, when it's just Shelley and Charlotte, you see a side of them you never see before. Maybe they are actually worth getting to know...?

Shelley Bronte is rather short for their incessant complaints and insults. It sometimes brings to mind a typical, angry little chihuahua. Still, they are, admittedly, nice to look at. A Beverly Hills chihuahua, maybe? Shelley has curly black hair, brown eyes, and dark skin. They seem to incredibly used to luxury- you can't help but wonder why they needed this housing. Perhaps your differences aren't so stark after all?

Dorian/Delainey Fletcher - another new roommate. You've only met them once, but their personality already seems clear. They're cheerful and a little bit sly. The latter characteristic makes sense, you suppose- apparently, they are an aspiring actor. That makes sense too. Their face seems perfectly crafted for the camera- you can imagine them having a sizeable fan club whenever they make their big break. Even their clothes display their hunger for attention- they frequently dress in a myriad of bright colors, all of which somehow go perfectly with their strawberry blond hair and blue-grey eyes.

D has spent a long time dodging their responsibilities in favor of their lofty dreams. They can't do that anymore- you hope. Charlotte and everything to do with her seems to make them nervous. It seems they might just be the "weakest link" here. Still, maybe you can be alongside them in their journey to stardom. Further still, maybe you can help them acclimate to your new lives without having to abandon their longstanding dream...? Only time will tell.

Caspian/Corinne Hatfield - your final- rather elusive- roommate. You don't see them often. You're not sure if they're avoiding everyone, or if they're just not out much. Even when you are with them, their presence is often subtle. They go unnoticed. Their creations, however, do not. The mansion's enormous garden is nothing short of gorgeous, and almost all of it has been cultivated by them alone.

C has sleek raven hair, smooth, pale skin, and deep green eyes. Their subtlety is little to do with their looks. They seem to want to fade into the background, and focus their attention on their garden. But maybe, over time, they might become the one at the forefront of your mind. And they might find themselves thinking of more than just when to plant the next season's flower seeds.

Finnegan/Faye Kelsey - The only RO that is not a roommate- F Kelsey has been your brother's best friend for years. Though the two of them are quite different, they somehow get along perfectly every time. F has always been responsible. When they heard about your new, rather dubious, living arrangements from your brother, they decided to take it upon themselves to at least make sure that you are okay- potentially even to convince you to go home again.

F is exactly the kind of model human that your shared egregiously expensive private high school had wanted to churn out. Besides their honestly unfairly good looks- soft, wavy taupe hair, light brown skin, a perfectly sharp jawline and contrastingly soft eyes... F is a real catch, many would say. They're a doctor. They are good at practically everything. They're just generally a good person. But they just can't seem to understand you and your need to get away. It doesn't help that you've never been particularly close- regardless of your past thoughts on them. Maybe now is a chance to change that.

Background/Author Ramble

Hi guys! I'm Kat. I've never made an IF before, but have loved them for years, and have been thinking of this idea for a while now, so I figured I'd try my hand at it.

Buuuut I've never really made any creative writing pieces (except for some cringey fanfictions way back in middle school...) nor have I ever coded anything (boy, am I having an embarrassingly hard time with some of choicescript)... so. There is bound to be quite a lot of mistakes here. I'm always open to feedback, suggestions, and comments, though! So, please, do tell me what you think.
