I'm trying to collect and compile a list of transfeminine works and reviews or discussions of said works. I've found there to be very little discussion or consensus around these works, and very little attention on them overall. I want to do what I can to change that. Please if you would on the notes of this post or in my inbox, mention any transfeminist literature you've heard of and what you've heard about it. if you've read it, please give me your thoughts on the work as well, but don't be ashamed if you haven't been able to read something or finish it, I'd rather have some information than none at all. My current goal is to aggregate works which can be shown and recommended to others as core to understanding trans feminism. Any works welcome but I am especially interested in what you found beneficial about them and what audience you would recommend them to. I'm looking for personal thoughts and experiences, not other aggregates that lack context. Thank you I'll start by sharing a few works I've read and found insightful or seen discussed positively myself. Please do provide your own thoughts on the works mentioned as well. If I get enough feedback I will make an update with concise explanations of each work and what they're good for or where they may fail first, though its not about transsexuality, Demarginalizing the Intersection of Race and Sex is of core importance for understanding intersectional concepts such as transmisogyny Girls You Can Hit A Brief Materialist Look at Transgender Oppression The Third Sex Hot Allostatic Load Faggotization and The Extant Gender Ternary A Socialist, Feminist, and Transgender Analysis of Sex Work Why are AMAB trans people denied the closet? Transgender Marxism Whipping Girl Marxism and Transgender Liberation A Short History of Trans Misogyny

not sure if this is anything i just started watching yellowjackets like 2 weeks ago and my brain is still in the throwing things at the wall stage BUT. van died seeing her younger self's smile. laura lee died doing what her faith led her to believe was her purpose. natalie died rejecting the groupthink-fueled denial of agency everyone else was engaged in and thus reclaiming her sense of self. they all died doing the things jackie praised them for in ep 1....

so significant imo that nat is the first person to kill someone directly because nat is the person who rejects the idea that the wilderness has agency and the yellowjackets do not. the group unintentionally lets jackie die and intentionally lets travis die and they excuse the latter by insisting that "the wilderness chose" but nat expresses to ben that she let javi die. she owns her agency. even in their plan to execute ben they let "the wilderness" choose who will kill him via card draw instead of anyone taking responsibility (and tai, when selected, even hands over the responsibility to "other tai" instead of facing the act head-on). and then they choose not to kill him and keep him alive in torturous pain instead because "it" sent akilah a vision. nat is the one who defies this collective abandonment of agency and takes it upon herself to kill him as an act of mercy. just as she will later defy this abandonment of agency and sacrifice her life to save lisa. this refusal to ascribe her own choices to the will of the wilderness, this ownership of her actions, is what will drive her to despair and attempts to numb the pain in adulthood. but it is also what makes her the moral core of the show. not because she is always good, but because she acknowledges that she has moral agency at all.

"the corrolary of this is that abled people have an obligation to perform the labor to provide that care and resources."
So you think disabled people existing exploit abled people? Or what? Because I can't really tell what you're on about.
not at all, quite the opposite in fact.
there's a certain ideological faction on here- the antiwork crowd- who fully support the first part (that disabled people who can't work deserve resources and care) but are unwilling to follow it to its second part (that abled people should be obligated/incentivized to perform labor to provide this resources and care).
due to my extreme distaste for antiwork ideology and it's short-sighted first-order thinking, I feel a need to remind people of that corrolary as a tactic to ward against antiwork ideology taking root.
for every positive right we have or should have (to housing, education, healthcare, etc) there's exists a matching collective responsibility to provide that positive right. if we want to effectively provide those rights (and we should), we need to accept those responsibilities.

All my other posts have stagnated so I'm making a new one. I'm a disabled Black lesbian and I recently started a new job after a month and a half long medical leave at my old job. Ive been on medical leave on and off since last november bc I've been very sick.

My wife is a Trans lesbian and she also recently resumed work after a 2 month medical leave after she got really REALLY sick.
My gas has been off for a few months and I really need to turn it back on before the temperature drops more. Also I have a gas stove so I haven't been able to actually cook anything either. I'm a diabetic so I rly wanna be able to cook healthy meals again.
Please help us out if u can!

that misogynist on twitter who talks about women that way because it benefits him won't see your tirade about goon-brained spiritually unsalvageable masturbation addicts but your friend who jerks off six times a day and is just like a nice and chill person will
