I know I just reblogged it but I wanted it on my blog for yaoi reasons... lando looking at max doing the thumbs up at giving the press con outside. and you can just See he thinks max is so cool. there's always a bit of lingering hero worship from landos end between them, just in a when you have a mutual you think is cooler than you way

and then lando starts with "I-" which would've been the real answer he gives later "I think it's pretty unfair" but then decides to go for the joke "deserved it" and everyone laughs because it's taken a joke but he still looks at max to confirm he knows that landos joking (we can't see it but you just know max is also smiling), then lando continues with the bit going "foul language." then serious mode that he doesn't agree with any of it, and that it's unfair max got a penalty for it at all

everyone wanted lando/max to be in shambles after austria, but max decided that he likes lando too much, and lando just feels too guilty when a person thinks of him poorly, so we get them chatting in the paddock and max supportively (menacingly?) grabbing lando by the scruff of his neck after another flop. honestly, what has lestappen or maxiel done to the economy, except charles got lapped for 3 races and riccifhdrn wants to be un-fired. craziest thing is that max’s view of lando probably improved, because he “respected that a lot” or whatever other gay thing that man said, and lando proved to him that he’d put his ego aside for their paddle games and late night flirty texts (read as friendship). charles gotta defeat his own demons first, before concentrating on max

you have to realize . max woke up EARLY -- max who likes to sleep in -- on monday to talk it out with lando only to see lando had Already texted him. meaning lando didn't even need the apology from max or any of that, he extended the olive branch before even max could (and max was ready to! he thought lando was mad at him and wanted to give him space to cool off)

I knew they'd be cool by silverstone but max's reaction of I #respected that so hard im going to tell the entire press SEVEN times that the only relationship I care about is mine and lando's 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫 what an all timer. i did Not see that coming. norstappen on TOP ⬆️

max fans were going on about how norris is actually doesn’t care about being max’ friend and how he is childish, only for him to turn around and be the first one to contact max and go to the media with “i overreacted” 😩 i know i don’t have that much willpower for something this difficult in my own personal life, let alone when it concerns competition and ambition

i know max fell in love when he saw that text. he treasures loyalty so much, of course seeing lando contact him first, effectively showing max how much he values their friendship, is going to make him go 🥰🥰🥰

max saying I respected that A Lot and lando saying max has nothing to apologize for yeah. yeah. they're kitten friends, your honour. i think this is also the first time i can recall max so actively stressing they are friends and how important it is to him to maintain the friendship. max waking up early to text lando to clear stuff up, only to see lando's already texted him. like wow this is so reciprocal. they like each other so much.

I find it really annoying when max's own fans try to act like he's a victim from his own friends, girlfriend etc. or that he deserves so much better/none of them deserve him, like we (all of us) are observing from the Outside In. he's the one actively making effort to keep them in his life, so maybe he knows better?

russian grand prix 2019 drivers parade

jenson is asking who he should ask a question to first and chooses lando. lando's about to say max (as in ask max) and max goes 'norris' and pets lando's head unprompted and lando just repeats him "max...norris? 😀 why max norris?" and then max gives the most bullshit answer of all time

you can see lando's brain short-circuiting in real time as max pets them and then he's careful placing his own back and touching max's

norstappen always compels me but this season has made them even MORE compelling i love the way max talks about lando

There's just something about them that has always been compelling to me, and this season has just upped it to 10000000000000.

The way Max speaks about Lando actually drives me insane at times because just tell him you adore him to his face Max, be brave.

Their whole friendship and relationship is just something that I love. It fascinates me. I love how sincere Max seems talking about Lando, and the fact Lando messaged Max first after Austria still lives rent free in my mind

Alpine:

to make things easier on everyone Esteban requests off camera that they be given two separate eggs, Pierre rolls his eyes and says actually HE has no problem working on the same egg as Esteban because HE is a team player so then Esteban is baited into going with one egg to prove he’s not the one w the problem

They keep finding an issue with the other’s ideas and ultimately agree to just put the egg in a ziploc bag filled with water. there is too much water in the bag and it explodes on impact, the egg rolls into a pillar and cracks

Aston Martin:

Fernando mines Aston’s social media manager for ideas while Lance lounges on the couch behind him. The social media manager procures a toy car that Fernando tapes the slightly cushioned egg to. Lance says looks good nando 👍🏻

The idea is the car’s wheels would roll and distribute the force but in practice the egg just breaks. Fernando says something cryptic that tiktok users perceive as a reference to him causing a crash and/or killing someone but really who can say

Ferrari:

Ferrari has 2 separate eggs bc Charles and Carlos don’t understand why they would do this if someone doesn’t get to be the winner

Charles crafts a little cushioned bucket for the egg and attaches it to a parachute which would have worked but unfortunately the parachute detaches before the egg safely floats to the floor. he is very upset

Carlos laughs! he has made the same design but obviously he secured his parachute properly duh. his parachute works but he didn’t put quite enough padding underneath the actual egg and it still gently cracks on impact, which Charles rules a DQ to much contention

Haas:

does haas have the budget for eggs in this economy?

assuming yes, Kevin and Nico will one day learn from their daughters how to do this after they do it in school but in the meantime I don’t think they try very hard, they wrap the egg in a towel and hope for the best, tossing it without much care to which way it lands (egg smashes, someone has to deal with eggy towel now)

Mclaren:

Oscar has the energy of someone who paid attention in school so I feel good abt his chances he’s probably done this before. he secures the egg in a padded basket, puts the basket in the middle of of cube made of straws. adds a parachute for good measure

Lando draws a face on the egg and tells Oscar which colours of materials to pick during construction. he claims full responsibility for the success of their drop and Oscar let’s him do so to keep him happy

Mercedes:

Lewis does not participate his contract gives him an out. also not sure how this challenge fits into practicing veganism tbh.. kinda wasteful overall :(

George forges on, thoughtfully considers several design ideas and makes the egg a brace out of straws in triangle formations which probably would have worked but unfortunately the egg was not secure enough in the middle and after the initial landing it pops loose from the triangle structure and cracks :( he is a good sport about it on camera tho

Red Bull:

Max might enjoy doing this in his personal time and would tell you a long story about the advantages of different egg protection strategies but he’s not very interested in doing this for grill the grid. he and Checo use elastic bands to secure sponges multiple sponges to the egg and it works fine but isn’t that interesting

Sauber:

Valtteri and Zhou very reasonably pack the egg into two cups with filled with tissues to absorb the impact. the egg survives the drop but the kick stake sauber f1 team employee who opens the cups to check on the egg drops the egg :(

VCARB:

unfortunately Daniel drops their egg while pretending to juggle with it as Yuki is assembling a bag full of cotton balls to put the egg into. egg would have broken in this bag regardless but

Williams:

Alex goes to hospitality and gets a jar of peanut butter to put the egg into. cheating? maybe but it worked didn’t it? Logan says maaaate and is lowkey disappointed he didn’t get to build something but he forgets to say so bc Alex is making him laugh by disparaging other drivers who spent 20 mins on this activity
