I finally came up with my own thought about what the aptx could originally be for and what the Miyanos came up with. I’m not the only person who came up with this theory on their own. TLDR, a lot of people kept coming to immortality as the reason to make the drug but was not only oblivious, but denied by Gosho. The only thing that would make sense to me is not immortality, but restorative regeneration. “Raise the dead against the stream of time” could also mean being something back to what it once was. Bring back the dead isn’t mortality, it’s restoring to what it was before. Rum attested to the theory by saying if the drug works like it’s supposed to, his eye would regenerate or in a way heal his eye. Think about it. The de-aging is a hint that it could be previously used to regenerate the body or turn back time. Then we go back to Atsushi the mad scientist. He’s definitely be considered mad if he made a possibly impossible drug that could bring back what once was like cure a diseased liver, reverse damage done to the body whether by force or aging. I mean look at a pregnant woman. How could a tiny zygote grow into a human and know exactly the right amount of everything. Genetics and such we get but if that’s possible to grow organs just from a few cellular and genetic instructions, it’s possible to grow organs period. It’s kinda hard for me to explain lol. But it all comes together. Aptx was used to restore things to the way they were. Healthy and functional. What an insane drug that would be.

i really want to know more about shiho’s dad, atsushi miyano. did he leave behind a memory piece for shiho to discover later on, like what elena and akemi did? he looks like a family man from the flashbacks so far, tho that doesn’t really mean he did leave her something. i wonder what research he did or for what specific reason, that people started calling him the mad scientist. shiho has always questioned her parents moral standing being in the BO and all, until elena got proven otherwise. but does she still think he was a mad cold blooded scientist too?
