We coax our throats with honey days, ambered sipping summer sleep. Or we meet our thirst in tidepools, cupping the gasping, dripping scraps of what yesterday has left behind-- all liquid, anyway, all too loose to hold. Now our time comes in downpour. Watch it catch on the window panes, days and days in endless rain. Though we will only catch the errant drops, we tilt back our heads all the same.
