Entry No. 21 - When God Calls You Names

A curious child one asked Michelangelo what he was doing with a large piece of marble that he was working on. He simply replies that there was an angel inside the marble and he wanted to free him.
Isnât that just like God? That in all of us, He sees the finished product? From the very first time He conceived the thought of you right from the beginning He started calling you things like âthe apple of His eyeâ, âchosenâ and , âdearly lovedâ. Isnât that just so mind-blowing? Whatever your background may be, whether old or young, whatever the names of the world that might be hanging over your head right now, there is one name  that is above all- Jesus. When the world calls you âstupidâ, âworthlessâ, hopelessâ, âan outcastâ, just know that the mere whisper of His voice drowns out the foolishness of the world. He calls you by who you are in Him: âHis childâ, â a prince/princess of the Most Highâ, ;a Kingâs kid, âvaluableâ, âone-of-a-kindâ, âa Masterpieceâ, âloved beyond all measureâ, âacceptedâ, âforgivenâ, âworthyâ, âhopefulâ, an âheirâ, âfriendâ, âfreeâ, âchosenâ, âborn againâ... the list just goes on and on.
God has started a good work in you. The names that He calls you are His tools, and He will not stop chiseling away at the lies and deception of the world until the final product emerges from the rubble- just as He envisioned you to be. Stay strong, be encouraged, and if God is for you... who can be against you?
Child of God
 Beautiful childâŚ
How I long to talk to you.
Look around youâŚ
Have you seen?
The signs and wonders-
Itâs a delicate fragrance
Of what is to come.
 Little childâŚ
Just to utter your heavenly name,
The name that I have given you,
Brings rejoicing to the hearts of angels.
Reach out your hand,
There is so much I want to give you.
 Dear childâŚ
I have clothed you
And provided for you.
Purer than gold
Your faith is,
And so bright is your love.
 Precious childâŚ
I will show you hidden treasures
That are only found in secret places.
My grace is sufficient for you
And I will protect you.
Come under my wing,
Put your head on my chest.
What do you hear?
Can you feel it quicken?
 My childâŚ
You are one after my own heart:
Asking for what is needed,
Seeking for what is not seen,
Knocking for greater opportunities.
All will be answered
In the timing of perfection.

Entry No. 20 - Breakthrough

Letâs face it. Everyone goes through hardship more than once at some stage in their lives. It is tough and unpleasant to go through, but it does not have to be seen as a bad thing. For example, the protea flower (the national flower of South Africa) can not  thrive and reproduce without the aid of fire that occurs in its habitat. Fire actually spurs on the next generation of growth and flowering. Likewise, a rose bush needs to be pruned annually otherwise its energy will be used up by things that are not necessary. In both of these examples, a level discomfort is needed- a removal of the old and dry to make way for the new.
So, too, in our own lives, God wants to remove the stuff that will not aid in our growth. when He does, it makes us a little uncomfortable- okay, maybe A LOT, but it really depends how you deal with it. Happily to say, that it is all for a season. Once the breaking down stops, growth begins. In due time, You will notice how much stronger you have become and how much progress youâve made. This is growth. When you start to flower and to bare fruit- this is the evidence of your growth to others.
In essence, this is what breakthrough is: enduring the hardship of the pruning process and the purifying fires, and embracing stronger growth along with the infinite beauty and amazement to follow. It is truly awe-inspiring to witness...
Rain Down
 ShhâŚ
ListenâŚ
In the distanceâŚ
There is a rumble.
It approaches quickly
And it comes to devour, kill and destroy.
 Be careful!
Clouds of gloominess and despair
Strike at your feet
With bolts of darkness.
Jagged lines of deceit
Desperately seek a chink in your armour,
But smash it with your faithful shield
And rebuke it with your sword.
There seems to be a heaviness around youâŚ
And a lack of warmth,
But in the surroundings
The colours seem brighter than beforeâŚ
More outstandingâŚ
In a moment,
A drop pats your cheek,
And then anotherâŚ
And anotherâŚ
 The heavens open
And the torrential rain falls upon you:
Filling you with His presence,
With His anointing,
With His Spirit.
Rain down!
Rain down!
Be drenched with the living watersâŚ
Be filled to the point of over-flowing.
Drop to your knees.
Lift up your hands,
And rejoice in the name of the Lord.

Entry No. 19 - Stepping Out

People fear change. It is a bold move to step out in faith- It means to act out on the Lord has said and embrace it without knowing what the end result will be, all the while trusting Him. It has the potential to change the course of your life, but the choice is ultimately in your hands...
I have discovered that God wants you to A.S.K.
A â Ask. Ask and it will be given to you (according to His will.) Ask the Lord whatever is on your heart. It is so simple. He has placed many desires in your heart, but He is enough of a gentleman to wait for your request before He goes ahead with anything. You may feel overwhelmed on what to ask and might have hit a blank. Here is a good question to start off with: âLord, please could You place in my heart the questions that You want me to ask you.â Without fail, He will give you those questions. All you need to do is sit and wait on the Lord.
S â Seek. Seek and you shall find. After asking, wait- and watch, and listen. Stop thinking about how He is going to answer your questions. It is futile. Beyond your thinking capacity. Godâs ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts. Just be alert- and prepared to have your mind blown! Be warned- patience is the name of the game here. He will answer your prayers in His timing, not yours. It might take days, months or even years. He will answer them. Trust Him! If you have asked anything that is in line with His will, He will act on it- when you are ready to receive it. Donât stop seeking. Go about your everyday things. Also, God needs to prepare you for His answers. You with eventually find what you are looking for-but it might be  in a different shape or form. God is faithful.
K - Knock. Knock and the door shall be opened. There are things in life that may cross your path. Whether you ask for them or not. Life happens, but God uses all situations- both good and bad- for His glory. They normally come in the figurative form of a âdoorâ, and they have the potential to change the course of your life as you know it! So, how do you know if the door before you is from God or not? Simple, just knock on it. Apply for that job. Answer that email. Say âyesâ, or say ânoâ. Watch how the situation unfolds- or doesnât. The âdoorâ will either open by itself (which will be by Godâs will), or remain closed. You can ultimately try and force that door open, but you will never have the sense of peace in that situation. The choice is yours. As a christian, the act of knocking is also known as âstepping out in faith
It basically means to act out on something that seemingly defies human logic and hold on to God and God alone. A story from the bible about what Iâm trying to illustrate:
Matthew 14:22-33Â
22 Immediately Jesus made His disciples get into the boat and go before Him to the other side, while He sent the multitudes away.23 And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. Now when evening came, He was alone there. 24 But the boat was now in the middle of the sea, tossed by the waves, for the wind was contrary.
25 Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. 26 And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, âIt is a ghost!â And they cried out for fear.
27Â But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, âBe of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.â
28Â And Peter answered Him and said, âLord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.â
29 So He said, âCome.â And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, âLord, save me!â
31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, âO you of little faith, why did you doubt?â 32 And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.
33 Then those who were in the boat came and worshiped Him, saying, âTruly You are the Son of God.â
To end off, testimony from my own life:
I was in a dead-end job. I was getting on in years, and with the salary that I was getting, I could not even live on my own. Let alone support a family, or own a house. I shared my heart with the Lord and He simply reassured me to just trust Him- which sometimes feels easier said than done. I made one thing very clear to Him: that I wanted His will and His will only to be done. I then simply left it in His safe hands, and carried on with life. I did remind Him of this here and there (as if He really needed it), and there were a few âdoorsâ that came by, but nothing came about those. From previous experiences I had learned that I dare not try and force them open.
Then one day, out of the blue, one of my colleagues said that there was a positioning opening up at a very prominent retail store. I would have to start at the bottom, but there would be a huge amount of room to grow. So I knocked on that door, by sending my CV in. Then another door opened, then another, then another... God had opened the doors as soon as I started stepping out, but I needed to be in a place of readiness first. Needless to say, in the end, I got the job.God is faithful. He knows what He is doing  So the new part of the journey continues...
Step of Faith
As the wind howls,
Your little boat rocks back and forth
On the treacherous wavesâŚ
All seems helpless,
But wait!
A man approaches you on the water.
 Donât be afraidâŚ
He smiles,
And introduces himself.
With his hand out-stretched,
He calls to you.
Take that first stepâŚ
With your eyes locked onto him
You start walking.
A gust of wind brushes your cheek,
And you look aroundâŚ
Youâre walking on water!
But thatâs impossible!
Instantly,
You get that sinking feelingâŚ
 Full of fear
You cry out to him.
Immediately he grabs your hand
And pulls you up.
Both he and you approach your boat-
Still being battered and beaten.
The wind falls silent
And the waves return to its placid state,
As soon as he touches your boat.
 Dearly belovedâŚ
When the Lord calls you
Into a greater walk of faith,
It will be like stepping on water.
So keep your eyes firmly on Him!
Donât look at the circumstances around you,
And stop worrying!
Have faith!
Trust in Him!
Heâll give you that peaceâŚ
A peace beyond all understanding.
Allow Him to be the rudder in your life.

Entry No. 18 - The Holy Dove

There is one in our walk with the Lord that is over-looked one too many times. He is called the the third person of the Trinity, the Comforter, the Teacher, the Helper among many others. Of the Trinity, He is the One who introduced Himself to me in a very intimate and personal way. I call Him the Evangelist of Evangelists, but to many, He is called the Holy Spirit. I was In a place of desolate hopelessness before I met. I was at my lowest point in life- jobless and isolated from society. The Lord almost always uses His people to reach out to the next. If they are not available, then He will use anything He can to reach out to you. In my case, it was a book. A simple, humble book. The Holy Spirit made all the experiences in the book so real to me. More real than anything than I have ever experienced! More particularly, a man told his corroboration about heaven. I have never read anything more beautiful in my entire life! He talked about the experiences that he saw: a bright light, great joy, incredible love and the realization that the scars of Jesus were the only man-made things in heaven. When I read this, I was amazed at how real it all was, and how beautiful. As real as heaven seemed to be, I couldnât bare to even begin imagining what the âother placeâ was like. As soon as I thought of this, the Holy Spirit spoke to me in the deepest parts of my consciousness. It was not a physical thing, but rather a spiritual one. It is the best way I can describe it.
He said to me, âI put you on this earth for a reason, but it is up to you where you want to go.â A stern choice was set before me. Will it be stay or go? Yay or Nay? Life or death?
The choice was easy enough- because I was desperate enough to make it. I chose to follow The Lord! I never looked back since. It was never easy, but each day still draws me ever closer to Him. I thank the Holy Spirit for His instigation. If He did not do what He did, I would be in the same place- or worse.
Now, a choice lies before you. Are you desperate enough to make that decision. You will never have made a more important one. He is calling to you. Can you not hear Him? And He is waiting for your answer...
The Holy Spirit has many parts to His personality. In the poem below, it is the gentleness of His personality that is mostly focused on.
Holy Spirit
 Hey thereâŚ
Come here, o dainty one
May the Master send you towards me.
Embrace me with your presence,
Your beauty so divine
And your elegance so graceful.
 Your cooingâŚ
So softâŚ
So soothing
In the silence of serenity,
But quiet are you
In the hustle and bustle of the world.
So distantâŚ
Almost invisible.
 Come hereâŚ
I seek you
Sweet SpiritâŚ
With all my heart
Lead meâŚ
Help meâŚ
Teach meâŚ
Perch yourself upon my shoulder,
Whisper into my earâŚ
O precious dove of God.

Entry No. 17 - The Stain Remover.

Another quirky poem. I was spending time with the Lord when I realized how much of a stain-remover Jesus really is! He does not deal with the surface stuff like the conventional remover, but the stuff that is in the depths of our hearts. In its quirkiness, the poem is in the form of a peculiar advertisement. Enjoy!
Ever-Cleanser
 Hey there!
Do you look like rags?
Are you worn out and dirty?
Full of stains and/or grimy?
Looking for change?
Do you want to be white instead of crimson?
If so...
Look no further!
 Let me introduce you
To JesusâŚ
Cleanser, restorer,
Healer, stain-remover,
Lord and Saviour.
Let Him redeem you!
His blood will change you from red
To white in one easy choice-
In fact a white so bright
That it will glow in the night.
Donât forget about ever-lasting life too!
He will submerge you time and time again
In the living waters.
Let Him care for you,
Love you, nurture you,
Allow Him to wear you
And to call you His own.

Entry No. 16 - In His Will

I had a fairly difficult upbringing. Partly my own doing. Partly not. Social connection was a nightmare. I was extremely timid and very depressed. It felt like everywhere I turned, there seemed to be walls, and they were closing in slowly. Life as I knew it was pushing me in its own direction- and I was there just for the ride. There was no drive, no ambition, no purpose. Every road that I looked down in search for some sort of future, of some hope was met with a form of discouragement and the statement: âWe donât have money for that.â I hated the question: what do you want to be when you grow up? It was so awkward. I will let you know as soon as I find out, was usually my thought.
A day came when everything changed. At a major cross-road in my life, I met Jesus- and He challenged me in ways that I am only too grateful for. He gave me purpose, a hope to carry on with the flare of His glorious life.
Even then, while walking with Him and slowly growing out of my social awkwardness, I gave the Lord a set of demands of how I think my life should be like. Especially in the area of jobs. Being as He is, He fulfilled every one of them. Still there was no satisfaction, no peace. Every time that I brought my  concerns ( which is just a nice was of saying âcomplaintsâ) before the Lord, I was met with the same question every time: âDo you trust Me?â and at first I carelessly answered with a quick âYes.â His return would be: âThen follow me.â
The more He asked that question, the more reverence and the more convicted I felt before I answered it. A weird feeling, and this the best way that I can describe it. Today, He still asks me the same question, but I now answer it with, âYes, my Lord, please show me what to do.â His response now is, âWatch what I am about to do.â
You see, walking with the Lord has not only given me life, but purpose to live. I still get asked about what goals I have for my life, but my answer is now quite simple: âPeople grow up wanting to be a fireman or an astronaut or doctor (any other occupation, please fill in here), but my greatest goal in life is to be in the will of the Father. Then I know exactly where I need to be and where I am going because He knows the plans that He has for me and they are for peace and not for evil. Being in His will gives me a future and a hope. He does not say that it will be an easy ride, but a necessary one- and in the end I will be molded and formed into the person that He has intended me to be all along.
Brotherly Savior
 My friendâŚ
Listen to my voice.
This is the path
You should go, follow it.
Walk in my lightâŚ
All will be revealed to you.
Take a look at the road signs carefully.
I have placed them there,
Please obey them.
 Be careful!
From here the road is bumpy.
Ready?
Letâs go!
There is a pebble up aheadâŚ
Go this way around it.
Turn here-
Donât go through the detour,
It could be the death of you.
 Alas!
We are near,
Just a few more hillsâŚ
And the Kingdom you will see!
By your simple obedience
And your faith made pure,
You have done wellâŚ
Congratulations!
 Gracious FatherâŚ
This is my friend,
Whom I am proud
To call my brother.
He has done many things
For your kingdom.
He is a fervent prayer-warrior
And a dedicated soul-winner.
For this I declare him ready
To be a resident of Heaven.

Entry No. 15 - Unity

I once saw a spat between two friends. The one was more mature than the other and therefore knew better due to experience. The younger other, disagreed to what she had to say and was offended along with the customary water-works that come with it all. It is amazing how when one of your piers is hurt, they will quickly gain the support of the others- myself included at the time.
It got me thinking though... how a simple misunderstanding can turn into offence, cause people to choose sides and cause near devastation to the body of Christ. In order for the Body to function properly, all of its members need to be united in truth and in love. Too many times there has been the pursuit of a VERSION of the truth and not THE truth itself. We are of one flock, but in too many folds. Each with its own interpretation of the truth. However slight it may be. We are of one body, with Christ being the head- each with a different function to display. No one can tell the next that their role in the body is more important.
1 Corinthians 12:14- 20
14 For the body is not one member, but many. 15 If the foot says, "Because I am not a hand, I am not a part of the body," it is not for this reason any the less a part of the body. 16 And if the ear says, "Because I am not an eye, I am not a part of the body," it is not for this reason any the less a part of the body. 17 If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole were hearing, where would the sense of smell be?18 But now God has placed the members, each one of them, in the body, just as He desired. 19 If they were all one member, where would the body be? 20 But now there are many members, but one body.
We can go one further. Instead of just members, but cells. We need to work together as one so that the Body can perform well. If anything is out of alignment, then the Body is sick. It makes it weaker and unable to function properly. Worst case scenario, a split, or amputation, occurs. Far too many times, unfortunately. Somehow, by Godâs will, the Body still functions...
In the case of my two friends, they made up, settled their differences and forgave each other. Nothing more came of it. They still remain friends to this day. Thankfully.
Unity
 BrotherâŚ
SisterâŚ
Examine yourselves in every way.
Lest there be any foreign growth
That has taken root on you,
Let it not suffer the body!
Remove that worldly tumour
Before it is too late!
Do not let it grow too deepâŚ
Otherwise the inevitable will occur:
Amputation!
O, that crippling cancer!
How can the body function properly
Without all of its members?
Members must also perform their function
In the way they are designed to.
In other wordsâŚ
How can an eye move fingers
When it doesnât have any to begin with?
Each member must perform their functionâŚ
With love,
And in co-operation with one another.
After allâŚ
We are one body!

Entry No. 14 - The Return...

Right at this moment, God is calling to you. What is He saying? There is a longing in His heart- a pining, if you will... for you to come back home to Him. He will not relent. Day and night, He will not stop looking past the horizon- waiting. Can you just imagine the hope in His heart? The faith? The unconditional love...? For you.
You have many questions, but God has more answers to the questions that you are willing to ask! May He put the questions in your heart that He wants you to ask Him. I can not express the incredible love that He has for you! He So desires to lavishly pour it over you. He is not stingy at all.
Come as you are. Warts and all. Dirt and stench. In all your sin. He is not ashamed of you. He wishes to continue the good work that He started. He is not finished with you yet. Far from it. He did not trade His Sonâs life for yours in vain. Jesus did not shed His blood for nothing! It has the ability to cleanse your soul like nothing on this earth- that is power! It has given you victory over all your enemies. The war is already won. So donât let the stragglers trip you up. God knows your limits, He will push you, but He will not break you. You are stronger than what you think...
It takes just a step back toward home, and God will take you the rest of the way. So hold on tight, and be in awe at the wonders that He has in store for you!
A Fatherâs Calling
 My childâŚ
O, my child!
If you only knew
How much I love you.
My heart sinksâŚ
Every time your back is turned towards me.
My spirit grievesâŚ
When you reject my voice.
 Here I am!
Iâm down on my knee.
My arms are wide open;
Waiting to wrap you with my warmth,
Waiting to embrace youâŚ
Waiting to forgive you
And to hold you firmly.
 Whatever your iniquities or your troubles are;
Take themâŚ
And place them in my hands.
I will help you!
All you need to do
Is to take that first step towards me,
Even a small one.
I will take you by the hand
And I will lead you the rest of the wayâŚ

Entry No. 13 - Be on Your Guard

Peace. Itâs a beautiful thing, but if you are not too careful it could be the death of you if you do not stay close to God. Itâs the extended times of peace where one needs to be alert. Whenever we are going through a testing time, where do we run to? Into the arms of Jesus, right? We tend to spend more time with Him during these times. Now, during an extended period of peace, we tend to slack off. Maybe a bit too much- especially with our times with the Lord. It is one thing that we can not miss out on.
I can think of two biblical examples that hahave gone through such a thing- King Solomon and King Asa. The latter, who is less known, in his early reign ran to seek the council of God when enemies surrounded the borders of Israel , and He rewarded him with no war and a peaceful reign for the rest of his years. However, he slacked off. He started seeking the council of people instead of God. Again and again God tried to bring him back to Him, eventually allowing calamity to come on him in the form of a foot ailment- but to no avail. Asa sought the presence of physicians instead.
The enemy is very cunning. and will attack when you are least prepared and you are least expecting it. When we tend to slack off during a lengthy period of peace, we are at our most vulnerable. That is why we need to be prepared and alert at at all times. Having peace is not wrong in fact, it is always welcome. Jesus is known as the Prince of Peace, - and never, ever let go of Him.This is what the poem below tries to depict: keep close to Him whether through peace or trial, and when in times of peace, watch what you are being tempted with in exchange for your relationship with the Lord. It can be a suttle thing at first, but remember that God is more suttle than the devil.
John 10:10
"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.
Phillipians 4:7
7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Word of Warning
 In the stillness of night
A garden looms in the distance.
So quietâŚ
How beautiful it is!
The flowers hide their faces,
A breath of wind exhales slowly
Through the trees.
A light shines in a clearance...
In its brilliance kneels a man, weeping.
What pain he must be in,
Such sorrow on his face,
Such agony...
A shadow looms in the backgroundâŚ
Waiting for just the right moment to pounce.
A little further onâŚ
Hidden from view,
Three men lay dormant and unawareâŚ
 Beware, weary one,
Take heed of its peacefulness,
For trouble can easily consume
The unprepared.
DO NOT ignore the warning that is given:
Watch and pray
That you would not fall into temptation.
The spirit is willingâŚ
But the flesh weak.

Entry No. 12 - When the Spirit Flows...

The following poem is quite special to me. It was written after my first external encounter with the Living God, and the start of a new beginning. A visiting evangelist made an alter call for anyone who wanted a Holy Spirit experience. At this time, I had not had such an experience and was super hungry to receive anything from God. I was one of the first to be prayed for. At first, nothing happened. Zip. Nada. Frustration tried to creep in, but I was encouraged to keep on pressing in- and Iâm glad that I did. After a while, there was a welling from the core of my being and I just wept like a baby. I have never been the same. Future poems that I have written were never the same either. Not only did I write poems for Jesus, but now I started writing poems with Him. It is a beautiful relationship that continues to this day.
A few days after this experience, I felt an immense urge to write. It just flowed and flowed like water. I could not stop. Finally, the poem that you see below was birthed. It supposed to be a parallel between Jesus and the sun and the similar characters that they possess. This is what I can understand of it, but to be honest, I donât really fully understand it myself. I may sound some what confusing, but it is the best way I can try and explain it.
Sunlight
Awaken risen sunâŚ
Get up and welcome the dawn of a new day.
Creep up your mountain,
Reveal your head
Over its peak.
Stand upâŚ
Let your glory illuminate
Upon the beauty of the earth.
Bless your people with your presenceâŚ
Let no-one be in darkness,
Let all receive your warmth.
All those who travel:
Look straight ahead,
Your paths have been enlightened.
Look upon him and be awestruck
At his simplicity!
As a child,
Reach outâŚ
Receive his touch.
Shout it out!
Rejoice!
Give him praise!
Accept his lightâŚ
So that you too
May have life!

Entry No. 11 - The Song of Your Heart.

Some time ago, I attempted something that Iâve never done before- I wrote a song. The worship team at my church were brainstorming about new songs and by that time we had already begun singing two original songs. So, naturally, I tried my hand at writing one. Just to see. Eventually, I completed it, complete with chorus, verse and bridge; but the tune now long forgotten. It may not seem much (and the Worship Leader had never laid eyes on it), but it came from my heart. Every word of it.
It kind of got me thinking though... Right at this moment, what is the song thatâs in your heart? Is it drawing people closer to you or pushing them away? Are they saying âI want what you have.â or âI want none of that!â
What about God? What is He saying about the song in your heart? Does it fill Him with joy or does it hurt Him with sorrow? Believe me He has most certainly danced to your tune and He has wept too- even to the point of making Him angry.
What about Jesus? He so desires to be the melody in your heart- and God yearns to put Him there... He loves you so. Sometimes that melody that youâve sought for many years needs to be learned slowly- one note at a time... and not seeking inspiration in the wrong places. Having Jesus as your heart song it is impossible to remain unchanged, and people notice it- and want to either pursue it or repel it- simply because they donât understand it.
To conclude, whatever your song is, that is how people will react to you. Having Jesus in your heart will make a world of difference. Donât be fooled: it is not an easy song. Some of the notes sequences are incredibly complex, so lots of practice makes perfect, it will push you to your limits- and man, if you have the courage to pursue it, what a beautiful song it is!
Give Him Praise
As we come into Your presence
Let us bow our knees
And lift our hands unto You...
 As we sing in worship,
May Your name be glorified.
When we are faced with trouble-
To You we will turn
And Your name we will praise.
Our enemy has fallen...
A blow is delivered
With each prayer.
We worship you with all our hearts O, Lord.
 Give Him praise!
Give Him praise!
Through You O, Lord
There is nothing that we fear.
Your hands are firm
And You never let go!
 We thank You Lord
For who You are
For Your love-
So undeserving,
But by Your grace
We are saved.

Entry No. 10 The Treasure Map

You are given a  treasure map. What would you do with it? Wouldnât you want to explore it and see what the treasure could be? I would.
Set with a basic set of instructions- and even a guide, and you are set on your way. You need both of your assets. They work hand in hand. Without either one of them, you are lost. On the way, you gain much knowledge and tons and tons of smaller gifts. Then the treasure, the one that you were aiming for, and is just amazing!
The realization comes to fruition when you start to see that the big adventure was really just a bunch of mini-adventures... and at the end was not just one big treasure, but many smaller treasures compiled into one. In fact, it was not about the destination, but rather the journey instead.
Such is the Word of God! The Lord gave you a set of Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. The Bible. With it, He gave you the Holy Spirit to guide you and to help you understand His instructions. He gave you an unique life through His Son Jesus- hence the treasure map. â â For I know the plans that I have for you,â declares the Lord, âplans for peace and not for evil to give you a future and a hope.â (Jeremiah 29:11). There is only one route that is true to your destination, and it is often the one that is overlooked:  "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.â - Jesus (John 14:6). The final destination- coming to the Father, and the entire purpose of the journey is this- to know who He is and the love that He has for you.
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.â Â (John 3:16)
The Lord and His Word
 In the beginning...
You were there for us
The emptiness was gone, and day had arrived;
Moulding and preparing us
One day at the time.
 You are the Cornerstone of our foundation- unshakeable;
The precious Milk of Life- Nourishing and refreshing;
The Sword and Armour of Your army- impenetrable
It is our wisdom at all times- faultless!
It is the text book
For our spiritual walk in your divine presence- righteous.
 Through it, covenants are revealed-
Both old and  new.
Prophesies are fulfilled...
Even today!
The visions, dreams and revelations
Show your boundless creativity!
You have shown us the authority that we have,
Given to us through Your Son.
Through your Holy Spirit...
Its secrets are revealed!
Your Word, Father God,
Is with You...
And the Word is YOU!

Entry No. 9 - The Heavenly Feast

A short one today. It is amazing how the Lord moves- and how He wants to grab your attention. When He has given you your fill for the time being, He stops so that you can process it all. Such is the poem below. It started so elaborately, yet ended so quickly, and leaves so much to wonder in its simplicity...
The Feast
 Come one, come all!
Come dine with me.
Those who are hungry... eat.
Those who are thirsty... drink.
When you are filled, drink some more!
Come, weep with me...
Laugh with me...Be filled with my Holy Spirit!
"On this mountain the LORD Almighty will prepare a feast of rich food for all peoples, a banquet of aged wine-- the best of meats and the finest of wines. On this mountain he will destroy the shroud that enfolds all peoples, the sheet that covers all nations; he will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign LORD will wipe away the tears from all faces; he will remove the disgrace of his people from all the earth." (Isaiah 25:6-8)
"I tell you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it anew with you in my Father's kingdom." (Matthew 26:29 || Mark 14:25)
"For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom of God." (Luke 22:16)

Entry No. 8 - In the Mirror

As I was spending time with the Lord, I was sitting on the floor of my tiny room facing the wall. I was prompted to âturn around and look into a mirrorâ. So I turned around and after a while I saw the the bedroom light in the computer monitor (which was turned off). Being the only mirror that I could find, I then sat on my bed and looked into the âmirrorâ. I noticed that when I looked down, my face was in a shadow and when I looked up, my  face was revealed in the light. The impression that I got was that God was saying to me was this: âNever look down, youâll end up in darkness; always look up and allow My glory to illuminate on your face just as I illuminated the face of Moses.â
John 1:4
In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men.
Psalm 34:4,5
I sought the LORD, and He answered me, Â Â Â Â Â Â And delivered me from all my fears.
They looked to Him and were radiant,       And their faces will never be ashamed.

Entry No. 7 - Have You Ever Wondered?

From time to time, the most random thoughts pop into my head that eventually end up as a poem. Like the one below. If God the Father and His Son, Jesus, had a conversation, what would it be like? And what would they talk about? As I mulled over the topic in the presence of the Lord, this below is what materialized...
Father and Son
 Dearest Son of Mine,
To whom I have given the worldâŚ
It is through You I have forgiven.
Through Your blood
I have cleansed man.
It is Your divine light
That chases the darkness
And consumes all evil.
Your obedience is honoured by all,
Including Myself.
Your willingness to please
Has made Me glad.
Your Faith has filled Me
With immense joy.
You have done well, beloved Son.
 O loving Father,
Your lessons are truly a blessing,
Road signs in the path of life.
I have given to the poor
And I have fed the hungry.
In the authority that You have given Me,
The blind can see,
The lame can walk,
Bondages have been broken.
There is nothing that pleases Me more
Than to serve you.
For You, I have humbled Myself
As an earthly man,
Who knew no sin, born of God.
For Your love of man
My body has been broken
And My blood has been shed to cleanse them
Of their sins.
Whoever calls upon My name
With a sincere heart
And confesses with his mouth,
That I am Lord in heaven,
Saviour on earthâŚ
My spirit will live in him.
I thank You Father,
That it is Your will
And not the will of man that is done.

Entry No. 6 - Patience is a Virtue

Iâm sure that just about everyone can agree with this statement: patience is one of the least prayed prayers.
How many times have we prayed such a prayer as, âLord, give me patience for such-and-such a situation.â, and at that moment (sometimes your prayer has not fully exited your lips) a situation where much patience is required arises- and we donât like what He has given to us. Therefore, we avoid praying for it as it will most certainly put us in an uncomfortable position. Personally, Iâve discovered that whether you pray for it or not, God will put such situations across your path anyway. So Iâve learned to endure them patiently and let Godâs will just take its course.
What we donât realize is that there is no such gift as âpatienceâ, because God does not give it to you... He teaches it. It is, however, a fruit. As a fruit goes, it is the most difficult and the most undesirable of all the fruits of the Spirit, I think. If it were a physical fruit, I would compare it to a lemon- it is tough in the beginning to endure, and can be difficult to keep a joyous face while eating it!
Like the beginning of any fruit tree, it starts off as a seed in the ground. That seed needs to die to self- or germinate- in order to grow. Likewise, for you to grow, you need to learn from the situations that the Lord is teaching you. this may take a few situations at first to grow, it is ultimately your choice take in what God is showing you (the nutrients being His Word), leading to your growth. He can not alter your will- only you can do this, by your submitting to His will.
Donât be discouraged if things feel like they have remained the same- remember what grows from the seed first. It is the roots, unseen, establishing a firm foundation in the soil. Only then does the shoot start to grow, and change is noticed. As your tree of patience grows, bigger situations arise and whatever you learn and endure gets added to your growth.
There will come a time where people are inspired by what God has done in your life and how you have endured past situations- this is your fruit. The product of your patience, your testimony concerning this particular fruit (of any of the fruits for that matter). They may ask âHow did you do it?â, and by telling them and what God has done for you in certain situations, you are sowing the seeds of your patience onto the fallowed ground of their hearts!
Now, isnât God just THAT awesome? He knows just what we need at the right time!

Entry No.5 - The Wedding

I was pondering on an up and coming event in history. What is it going to be like? What are we going to experience... and how? Just thinking about it again gives me shivers. I went before the Lord and asked Him for more about His Sonâs Wedding.
So, here is a piece if my heart, and the the heart of God too :)
The Wedding
Brothers and sisters!
Get readyâŚ
Prepare yourselves!
All are invited-
Few will accept;
Nobody knows when,
But all will seeâŚ
The marriage between
The Son of our Father...
And His bride.
Here is the groomâŚ
So pure at heart,
A light to us all.
Clothed in majesty and love
Both inside and out,
How eager and nervous He looks!
Our Father has planned this
Since the beginning of timeâŚ
WaitâŚ
Here she is!
The bride has arrivedâŚ
All in unity;
Wearing a dazzling white dress.
It surely is a sight
That must be seen!
Angelic voices start to sing,
The trumpets are blowing.
She glides down the aisle
Towards her husband,
They embrace with a holy kiss.
The two have become oneâŚ
One body,
One soul,
One spirit.
(Romans 11:36)
Revelation 19:6-9
6 Then I heard something like the voice of a great multitude and like the sound of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, saying,
âHallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns.
7 Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready.â 8 It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.
9 Then he *said to me, âWrite, âBlessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.ââ And he *said to me, âThese are true words of God.â
