Peter sighed. "Patience is a virtue, Raeken. Try to have some." He explained. "Colin is a dear friend. He's got plenty of money and connections around that Liam is perfectly safe and sound." He moved to get in the driver's seat, starting the car. "At least we know he's here and he's safe." He leaned back in his seat. "Where shall I take you? Do you have anything set up living wise?"

Peter gave a chuckle. “Born wolves are a big way of continuing bloodlines.” He replied, eyeing the paper. “If I’m right, your brother has found himself staying with Mr. Wallace. Which means I need to be the initial contact on this. You can keep watch from afar, but Colin dies not take well to random people and if Liam has said anything, you may be very much in for some trouble.” He said. He sighed; of course things would work out to where Colin had found the pup. He led the way towards the car, humming. “Your brother is safe, that much I can assure you of. Colin will protect him.”
“I know, bloodlines are important. Still a lot of kids.” he said shaking his head with a small smile as they walked before tilting his head. “I’ll do my best, but I’ve waited a long time to talk to Liam. But I’ll do my best to keep myself under control and away from the apartment.” he said shaking his head.
“Who is this Colin Wallace anyway? And how do you know him?” he asked, questions filling his head as he wondered why a man would cause him trouble talking to Liam. He smiled at least knowing that Liam was safe, but he didn’t really trust the Colin character.

Peter arched a brow as Theo grabbed one of the bottles. “For starters, helping yourself to my liquor isn’t good. I’ll start making you pay for them.” He took a slow breath, shaking his head. “Well, I was aware the pair were together. They’re actually very well matched.” He answered honestly, going behind the counter to place the bottles along the back shelf again. “I should have known you wouldn’t listen, though. Impatience doesn’t look good on you.” He chuckled to himself. “I got a call about your little attempted conversational visit. I was highly amused by it at first. Now, I’m a little annoyed. There’s a method to my madness, Theo. Colin has a right to be protective of Liam, he has been taking care of him while Liam was all alone.” He explained. "In more than one way."
“Colin is a damn strong druid, there is no doubt about that. Never was. From the time I met him, I knew he’d be powerful. You’re lucky he trusts me enough to let me smooth things over. I promised him I would speak with you once I found you. Seeing as I don’t know where you are, I assumed you would find your way here when you were ready to tell me.” He took the bottle and poured his own drink before setting it out of reach. “However, when it comes to your brother, you will need to trust me. He’s nowhere near ready for seeing you. He almost attacked the club the other night when I mentioned you.”

Peter was in the back, counting his inventory, when he heard Theo’s voice. He sighed, almost certain he knew what this was going to be about. He set the bottle of 2006 Merlot back on its shelf and turned, locking the door and heading up. “Theo, what a pleasant surprise. How can I be of assistance today?” He asked, setting his clipboard on the top of the nearest hightop table he passed.
“Yeah, so I couldn’t just sit around in my apartment for another day wondering about Liam. I went to see him, and save the lectures and I told you so. I already got my ass handed to me by Colin. Apparently, and you’re going to love this if you didn’t know it already. They’re Fucking.” he said shaking his head as he looked through Peter’s assortment of supernatural strength drinks.
“Fucking, Fucking Hell.” he said shaking his head as he poured himself a drink. “Did you know about this? Oh of course you did.” he said sighing as he sat at the bar. “How’d you find out?”

Theo shook his head, walking into “Halefire” he looked around for Peter. He’d broken the agreement to let Peter make first contact but he couldn’t just sit around and wait any longer. It was impatient, stupid, and a bad idea but he’d sat around his apartment for a week doing nothing but talking in a mirror; trying to figure out what to say. But it all meant nothing.
He didn’t see Liam, he didn’t even get in the front door before Colin; the guy Liam was apparently fucking. Shut him down completely. Given that Peter knew Colin; he knew going to see Peter was the first thing he needed to do.
“Peter!” he called. It was mid-day so he figured Peter wouldn’t be too busy to have a talk right now.

Peter leaned back, blue eyes closing. "We are, I promise, Chris." He said, tilting his head to kiss him. "I'm sorry, it's just a little different this moon." He didn't want Chris to worry about him, but he was honestly a little worried about himself. He laughed softly, nipping lightly at the other's neck. "Mmmm, I wonder how many we'll break here." He teased quietly, looking at Chris with a smirk. "If we break too many, I'm voting we get a metal canopy bed."

“What are you doing out of bed? I thought we were going to enjoy a little private time, just the two of us?” He teased, coming to wrap his arms around the wolf’s bare stomach. “I was going to invite you to test the strength of the new headboard by fucking me as hard as you could while I was holding on to it.” He teased.

Peter greeted the younger ones mostly by name, before they were led to the alpha, and a young man, Varen, spoke with them about the little Omega in question. Varen had a photo from a street camera and moved to show it to the two wolves. “I believe that’s right.” Peter said, looking to Theo for confirmation. Once it was confirmed and Varen explained the kid had been seen around Manhattan but kept safe, Varen offered no other options outside of a small piece of paper. Peter took it with a nod, shaking the young man’s hand and going through the heartache of telling each of the near countless kids and adopted wolves goodbye before heading out. “There are at least six kids I did not recognize here.” He shook his head, chuckling. “Either way, we have an address. Or a possible one. Varen said our pup was spotted with the one who lives here.” He pulled the paper out before arching a brow.
“Well, if Liam is staying at this address and if he has said anything to this one, you’l be lucky if you get a hair in the door.” He whistled low. reaching up to run a hand through his hair. “And I am going to have to make sure I talk to this person before you make an appearance. So he hopefully understands a little.” he chuckled.
Theo kept quiet, watching Peter say his hellos before heading to see Varen. He nodded. “Yeah, that’s him.” he said as he tilted his head, wondering how Liam had been surviving here in the city for so long. Obviously he wasn’t undetected as he made his way through New York but it was odd. He must have been staying with someone; his suspicions were confirmed when Varen handed Peter a piece of paper.
Obviously Liam couldn’t afford a place but the address should lead them to whoever he was staying with. Theo thanked Varen and walked out; waiting for Peter to say goodbye to all the small kids. “I counted thirty.” he said rolling his eyes as he walked. “But the address is good, we just have to find out who lives there with him.” he said before pausing.
“Wait, you know the address? Why? Who lives there?” he asked, questions pouring out of his mouth. Great, just what he needed. Another obstacle standing between him and Liam.

Liam paused, his mind and heart racing but he took Peter’s outstretched hand. His own hands were shaking and he knew his heart was pounding as he relaxed; his mind thinking of Colin as he calmed himself. He wasn’t sure why it worked; he just met the older druid and he had a crush on him sure. But his anchor? He thought Peter was wrong but how could he be. He was calmed by just the thought of the druid.
“I guess…its just a crush….” he paused before shaking his head. “He saved me…twice…I guess….” he said, his breathing slowing down, less rapid. More in control. “I guess…I guess he makes me feel safe…like I’ve got something to stay in control for…” he said looking up at Peter. “I really, I really do like him.” he paused before shaking his head and putting it against the brick wall. “Fuck….”
“No, he just taught me how to control the wolf. Never embrace it; and I thought I was doing fine with control…but, Theo…” he said shaking his head. “He…he’s not my brother….” he said, but he was doubting himself in the statement. He didn’t think he heard Peter’s heartbeat falter when he told him. “I thought I was going to attack the whole bar, the counter would have been the least of the worries.” he said shaking his head before nodding. “Train me…please…I don’t want to lose control like this…I don’t want to hurt anyone….I don’t want to hurt Colin…”
The contact of beta to alpha had Peter relaxing. This kid - even if he wasn’t officially pack - was connected to Colin and it was a good enough connection that Peter could relax when Liam began to get control. He gave a slight smile. “See? IT works the more you focus, doesn’t it?” he asked, nodding slowly. As the boy spoke, the alpha found a wave of relief washing over him. He wasn’t a beta who couldn’t speak after a near break, good. That’s something Peter found as a good sign, a good possibility the human side of this beta could hold and control the wolf while enjoy being one.
Hearing the words had him chuckling. “You feel connected to him, it’s a good thing. Your crush makes it easier to ficus on him. And we need that until you’re training has you able to reign in the wolf with the mere thought of him. Right now, you’re still inexperienced with the shift, scared of it. It makes it take longer to calm you. By the time training is finished, Colin will essentially be your biggest mental resource in terms of staying human. Even on a full moon. No more chains by then.” he explained, nodding. “You do. I could tell by the way you reacted when I brought him up, even in the office.”
Peter could recognize the early signs of a mate’s bond forming; he’d seen them with his nephew and Stiles, with Scott and Allison, Jackson and Lydia, Erica, Boyd and Isaac. He could see the subtler hints of it; the way the eyes lit up, the twitch of lip, the faint simmer of wolf color behind unknowing pupils. The anchor thing locked it in, but Peter didn’t want to overwhelm the kid by pointing out the mate bond. Yes it connected and wound fast, but Liam was still scared of the full moon. “I will train you, kid.” he said. “It’s alright. I know this isn’t easy to hear, I know what happened. I may not have been present, but I know what happened. But wolves of shared blood have similar scents. And right now, finally meeting you, your scent is reminiscent of Theo’s. I know that’s worrisome, but I promise you, you are safe.” He would bet his life on it, and swear [although technically he had] that if Liam died or got severely injured, to let Colin kill him if he failed.

Theo nodded, listening to where those betas came from. He felt less guilty hearing that they were from a pack rivaling the one that helped them find Liam. “I feel less guilty now.” he said with a small smirk as he listened to the inner workings of the New York packs and their territory. “At least you’ll get your old stomping grounds back rather than have to fight to reclaim it.” he said. “Well, we will.” he said with a shrug as he put his hands into his jacket pockets.
“Got it, don’t mention all the little kids.” he said as he followed Peter; holding back a sarcastic comment about how fucking many there were. He really wanted to comment that these people should get a different hobby but they helped him find his brother so he kept his mouth shut.
Peter greeted the younger ones mostly by name, before they were led to the alpha, and a young man, Varen, spoke with them about the little Omega in question. [To; Petey]: What?! Is he okay? I'm on my way. Fuck. Tell him I'm on the way. Tell him it will be okay. And that I'm coming for him right fucking now.
[To; Colin]: Calm down, you sound like a teenager. He's calm enough to take back inside, but I may need to expand to have a side bedroom to crash people in. No body count, he's fine. A little confused, but he's absolutely safe.
[To; Colin]: I told you I wouldn't let anything happen to him. Although for the love of gods, make a move. You're this kid's anchor for crying out loud.

Once Peter stopped talking to the Beta; Theo threw him against the wall and just smiled and brushed the scared wolf off. “Here is what you’re going to do. Spread the word. Two Alphas in town making a pack. Anyone who goes after them, their pack, or that little Omega ends up like your friend. If they’re lucky.” he said before stabbing his claws into the Beta’s stomach. “You’ll live long enough to deliver that message and if you’re lucky, live.” he said before he sliced sideways and dropped the bleeding Beta to the ground before walking over to Peter.
“I needed that.” he said as he wiped the blood off his hands. “I don’t like people who threaten my family.” he said as they kept walking. “So, confirm the information and find out where Liam is staying. Then we can plan out something from there.” he said shaking his head. “I really hope New York isn’t as stupid as those Betas turned out to be.”
Peter chuckled. “Well, then we’ll get along just fine. Family is the focus point off my pack. My mate and niece are here and I need no trouble from the pack those fools are in. The Markinson pack is nice enough, but those two are from a small pack of maybe nine that ar feuding with the Markinsons. The Markinson pack has claim to the Brooklyn area mostly. When Laura was here back when I was in a coma, she had claim on the Coney Island Manhattan areas.” he explained. “My friend here is in that area. The contact that gave me info, Varen? He and his pack are very knowledgeable and actually took the territory over temporarily. Varen knows my return means an alpha will have the land back and then his pack won’t be stretched as thin. The pack is far larger than even Scott’s used to be, but the land area is vast and Alpha Markinson does not want her pack to be solo on patrol. It’s how she lost her sister.”
He moved with ease, finding the way t a large mansion hidden behind a large wrought iron fence. The gate was left open and he walked through, motioning for Theo to follow him. “Do us both a favor here, and don’t make any comments on the amount of younger ones. There are roughly seven mated pairs here and all of them have at least two children; not to mention the new additions and betas taken in that aren’t mated.”

Liam looked at Peter as he followed him out, he stepped back against the wall and tried to focus on Peter’s voice. He was going to lose control, he was going to freak out again. Theo didn’t even have to be anywhere near him for him to mess up Liam’s life. All he had to do was show up. Liam wanted to lose control; let his wolf take over but he knew he shouldn’t. But the sweet loss of control was what he wanted so much.
Then he heard Peter speak, he started talking about Colin. Liam shook his head, no. No he didn’t want Colin to see him like this; so wild; so out of control. He didn’t want Colin to see the monster that lurked within himself. He took a small breath; then a few more before quietly starting to talk. “Colin…..” he said, as his claws slowly retracted.
He couldn’t lose Colin; not to Theo, not to himself, not to anyone. “Colin…” he said once more as his hand started to heal. He slid to the ground against the wall and looked up at Peter, holding his knees. Liam’s eyes were yellow; it was clear he was scared and confused. “I…I…I didn’t wolf out…not fully…why..why did that work…?”
Peter didn’t seem phased as Liam backed away. The kid was terrified of the inner wolf, of that much he was certain. He needed to set a place up where he could train the kid to control the wolf; translate the inner noise and control the ability to shift even when the moon glowed bright. But first? First he needed to get Liam calmed down and back inside. “Liam, you’re still a pup but you’re scared. You don’t have to be scared. I promise Colin and I will keep you safe here.” He kept his hand outstretched, palm up. A sign of trust.
“Yes, Colin.” he assured, muscles relaxing as Liam began to focus. He watched the pup change back. “There you go. It’s okay.” He moved closer, carefully moving so that he could read any sudden movement from the beta. HE’d been right on a quick guess, and he hoped it pulled through in the end. He moved to kneel by the wolf, reaching out to lay a hand on the boy’s shoulder. “Your anchor doesn’t have to be physical, like pain. It doesn’t have to be anger or even some magical trinket you carry around.” he explained. “Your anchor can be someone who means a great deal to you. Someone you care about and could never harm even in the most feral of states.”
“I took a gamble on the fact that it was Colin, kid. Just like I’m guessing Scott never trained you to embrace the wolf. You panicked so fast when you realized control was slipping I thought you were going to break my bar counter.” he admitted. “But panicking gives the wolf more control. You have to learn how to tame it but still be able to let it go wild when you need to. I’ll have to talk to Colin about training you. I don’t trust anyone trying to do so, as strong as you are as only a beta.”

“What do you mean? And of course I’m fun to be around. I’m a fifteen year old werewolf. If I was boring, I’d really, really want someone to hit me.” he snickered before listening to Peter tell him about his mate. He didn’t want to be the same way but he didn’t want to lose the best thing he’s had in a long time. He’d lost two families; his own and his former pack. Liam really didn’t want to go three for three but he had to take a chance. “I’ll talk to him…” he said softly.
Liam could hear Peter’s voice trying to get through to him but he shook his head slowly. “You…I….I…” he said, he could barely breathe and suddenly he could; he took rapid breaths, his claws digging into his skin as he drew blood. “H-he followed me here….I’m not safe anywhere….he’s going to do it again, he’s going to take my life away…again….” he said as he stumbled to the back; trying to get out behind the bar before he lost it.
Theo, Theo ruined everything once. He’s going to do it again; he knows it and Peter brought him here. And now he was trying to be told that Theo was his brother. No way, no way he was related to that monster. Liam stumbled out the side door and stood behind the bar; he was away from people. He needed to get control and fast. “I…I….I don’t know what to do…” he said, his voice cracking out of fear.
Peter could see the pup breaking down. Fuck. He didn’t have an anchor, even Peter could tell that much. Or did he? If he was even close to being right...he had one chance to hopefully bring the kid back. He was quick to shut his bar down and follow the pup, tracking him to the back door and slipping out and moving slowly towards the boy. “Pup, come on now, I didn’t mean to upset you, I was being honest. I’m not going to lie to you.” he explained. “Listen to me, I don’t want to pull rank, so I need you to focus on just my voice. CLose your eyes and listen to me.” he explained, not afraid of the wolf and muscles were poised to chase and catch the pup if he tried to run.
“Come on now, you have to get in control. Colin wouldn’t want you going around killing people because your wolf says so. I’ll ask him to come, but I need you calm first. Colin can’t heal like we can, and I don’t want you to regret going after him if he gets here and you’re out of it. So focus on being calm for him, okay?”HE reached a hand out towards the boy, blue eyes watching him. “BReathe. Just breathe and think about Colin; he make you happy, right?”

“It wasn’t screaming nonsense. And hey, a girl’s gotta get off, doesn’t she? It’s not like I have a boyfriend or girlfriend. And what’s that song say? Something about loving myself?” She grinned. “I’m pretty sure you said ‘please Katarina, please keep calling me Petey because realistically I know that you’re never going to stop, ever.” She pointed out, shrugging.
“I don’t know, Petey. I bet I could show you and Chris both a whole new world. No need to go letting the silver fox outta this. Come on, Peter,” She hopped off the counter, invading his space. “You telling me you’ve never been a tiny bit curious?” She pouted, looking up at him.
She took the card he offered, smiling. “I’ll be there. You know I’m never one to turn down a bar opening. Especially not when my favorite alpha will be there. Speaking of Silver Fox, is he going to be there too, I haven’t seen him inforever.” She complained.
"Fairly certain is was nonsense." Peter countered, nodding. "One would think a girl would lock her front door to keep predators out." Not that he doubted Kat could handle herself. She was a Wallace, after all. He chuckled, shrugging. "Yes, well, it was worth a shot, Kitten."
"I can assure you, there's no need to be taken to any world other than our own." He smirked. Cocking his head to one side, he gave a sly grin. "Are you upset that I haven't, Kitten? You're a sister. Beautiful and able bodied, no doubt good in the bedroom, but very much still my sister." He replied, reaching to ruffle her hair as if to prove his point. She wasn’t related by blood, but she was Colin’s sister, and Peter saw Colin as his brother.
He arched a brow at the woman, but nodded. “Yes, he’ll be there, Kitten. It wouldn’t be fair if my mate wasn’t there to celebrate with us.”

Liam laughed a bit. “Sounds like fun.” he nodded and grinned. “Seriously, I thought it was just the poison stuff in wolfsbane; made us weak mixed with alcohol or something to get us drunk. But yeah, starting with forty-five sound work out a lot better for me.” he smiled, he wasn’t used to this life just yet. But he enjoyed it immensely. For the first time since he’d been bitten he was truely having fun with Peter, Colin, even Kat. Phobe he hoped would come around to him eventually.
Peter knowing about his crush made him blush a bit. He smiled. “I figured, uh; still…I don’t know. I want to say something, but I also don’t want to ruin things. We have a good thing going…but…I don’t know.” he sighed. “I like the Dragons but I’m wondering if I should just stay quiet about my crush.”
He suddenly stopped and shook his head. “No…no…you’re lying…..Theo’s not here…he’s not my brother…” he said; breathing heavy as his eyes flashed between his own and his wolf. “He’s not here….no…not again….” he said balling his fists; his claws digging into his skin. Liam shook his head, his breathing increasing as his eyes settled on their yellow color when he realized he was losing control.
Peter nodded. “It is, trust me.” he assured. He chuckled, shaking his head. “The wolfsbane isn’t big enough to effect the taste, just to ease the healing so we can feel the actual effects of alcohol.” he explained. “Yo’re a lot of fun to be around, pup. Much different seeing as you haven’t been turned that long.”
The alpha arched a brow. “Kid, let me tell you something. I knew my mate when we were teenagers together. I danced around telling them how I felt. And in the end, I lost him. For years that I can never get back, I was lost without him in my life. In hindsight, I think my lack of faith that he felt the same drove me to regretting never saying it before he left. Trust me, you don’t want to sit with the what ifs and the what could have beens. Tell Colin how you feel, it’s always worth a try.”
“Pup...” Peter could sense the control slipping, reaching out to kay a hand firmly on Liam’s and squeezing it, leanign in so his eyes bled red without anyone but the kid seeing. “Liam, calm down. I’m not going to let him or anyone hurt you. I promised Colin that much.” he assured, the words nothing compared to what Peter might have to say if he couldn’t settle the boy. He wasn’t big on using alpha commands because this bar wasn’t some kind of power play. Liam was safe in these walls, or anywhere, really, between Colin’s affections and Peter’s loyalty to his friend. “You’re safe here.”

Peter couldn't help the soft laugh. "Oh, pup, Colin and I will have you wanting hundred proof in no time. I can't get drunk unless it's laced and Colin holds his liquor like a damn pro shot master. You'll be fine. And the wolfsbane isn't what makes it strong; it just enables us to be able to get drunk by weakening our ability to heal. Its the proof of the alcohol that makes it strong. I'll remember you need something weaker than ninety-seven proof to start. Let's try you out on a forty-five proof." He said, changing bottles and pouring a new glass.
"I doubt Colin would try that here. I make the calls about it, and I think he knows how resourceful I can be." He chuckled. Tilting his head, he gave a slow, deep sigh. "I am probably the last person who should be telling you this. You have a half brother. Theo, for all the hell he's caused. And he's not the most talkative or good at planning things, but he cares. And he made some huge mistakes, but he wants to change. He helped bring my niece back." He explained. "My debt was repaid by getting him information on trying to find you. Luckily, the Markinsons didn't feel the need to swoop in and claim an Omega with no alpha." He said, shaking his head. "I haven't seen him since we confirmed you were around here, I'm not sure where he is, honestly." He glanced over, nodded at a waitress and made the order, placing the six drinks on a tray and handing it to her. His attention went to refill some other drinks before he returned to Liam.
"All in due time, little pup." He promised. He couldn't help but laugh. "I might call it a little more than like. Your body is racked with nerves and pleasure and I'm a good three feet from you." He replied. "You may want to say something. Colin doesn't often just let people into his home." He gave a grin. "It is adorable, though. I think you'll like being in the dragons. They're well organized and despite being a jackass, Colin has many loyal people. Myself included."

Peter gave a small smile. “Perceptive. Adorable, for a pup. Apparently very easy to read from time to time.” While the alpha hates playing matchmaker, he knew he would be able to catch things Colin couldn’t. Perhaps slip a bit of fun facts and observations when he saw Colin. He managed a small smile. “Well, I can add understanding to the list of growing good qualities.”
“Next time, bring Colin. I think you’d be surprised how much liquor the man can handle. He almost puts a wolf to shame.“ He chuckled, finishing his drink and setting the glass in a little sink under the far corner of the bar. “Someone who has some news for you. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s talked to you, or tried to, already.” He said. “I do apologize for any inconvenience, but your brother helped me and I owed him. I don’t like owing people anything.” Unless he owed something to Chris, which he would always enjoy. “Colin is the only one I had, and I would rather have him on my side than anyone or anything else. He’s my best friend, more like a brother.” And hopefully that was a good basis for asking Colin to be his emissary.
“Uh-uh-uh,” Peter said, raising a hand to sway his finger with the syllables. “You’ll have to be patient, little pup. I don’t break that easily.” As he listened, he arched a brow. If he hasn’t been certain before, he was more than certain now. The pup had it bad, and he already knew Colin wanted to have the kid, but Peter wasn’t sure how to set this up. His matchmaking was not the best by any terms. “Sounds like he made an impression.” He said, smirking as he moves to make a drink for another customer. “So you’re staying at his place?” He asked, going back to the pup and watching him for any other unconscious signs of Liam’s emotion towards the druid.
“Thanks, I think.” he smiled as he finished off his drink; making a small face before putting the glass back down. He coughed slightly and shook his head. “Yeah, I think next time I’ll have something with a bit less wolfsbane.” he said. “Work my way up, because that was really, really strong.” he said before nodding. “I can add a few traits to a growing list for you as well.” he said laughing a little.
“I’ll ask him about it, see if he wants to head over here. Though he’ll probably either try to get me carded or make a designated driver.” he snickered before pausing. “Brother? What the hell are you talking about?” he asked pausing. He had a mom and a dad; bastards for parents. But no other family. “Who did you bring here….?” he asked, now a bit curious who had earned Peter’s good favor enough to find Liam. “Because I don’t have a brother.”
Liam nodded. “He’s a good guy. And fine, I’ll be patient but I still want to know.” he said rolling his eyes. He then nodded slightly, blushing a bit. “Yeah, I guess so.” he said; coming to the same realization that Colin had made more of an impression than he first thought. “Yeah, I’m staying on his couch; its not that bad. Couch is comfy and the food isn’t bad; mostly grilled food, some take out, etc.” he said before sighing. “Yes…I like him. Stupid freaking wolf senses….” he said, already aware he was either giving off the scent of attraction or making it obvious by how he talked.
