to add two cents: acknowledging that there are people who are suffering and seeing their lives in peril is the very least anyone (not directly affected by the occupations happening in the world right now) could do.

to be so detached that you’re unwilling to face your own privilege at this time is not only cowardly, but scarily inhumane. it is the exact type of phenomenon that will have history repeating itself for the generations to come.

be present now. may the time come where you are silenced and left to the humanity and empathy of others, you'll be praying others don't check out for sake of their own comfort. be here now. speak now. for the sake of innocent lives. the lives of children.

this is into the void frankly but my 1:27am thought is that it absolutely blows my mind that i have seen other people vocally tell other people to be quiet about what's happening in palestine because that's not what they want to see right now. it takes a certain amount of gall to look at a group of people who are being relentlessly targeted + look at people advocating on their behalf, and to fix your lips or twitter fingers or what may have you and tell them to shut up because that's just not what you wanna see right now. i think it's most daunting to me because the privilege here is that you have options. you can, actually, filter what it is that you wanna see, fun fact. you can click "not interested" on tiktok videos, instagram posts, or even take day long breaks off of social media just because it's too much (and these options have their own sets of implications, mind you; especially if you're not acknowledging what's happening at all). but to publicly groan about people advocating for a community that has been pleading for people to keep watching, keep donating, and keep looking, no matter what your priorities are, is a level of narcissism that i truly cannot even begin to articulate.

all i have to say is this: i don't really think this aligns with anyone in my "audience" (my mutuals and i mainly), but if this happens to align with you and you read this all the way through which again i don't foresee that being the case but like: one day, you are going to be suffering. you are going to be truly fucking suffering and you are going to be begging and pleading for someone or something to acknowledge your hurt, to gather help, or to take that pain and suffering away from you somehow. and in your deepest moments of like sorrow or suffering or whatever the fuck it is that you go through, i hope, with everything in me, that someone simply looks you dead in your face and tells you to just shut the fuck up.

aaron bushnell set himself on fire outside of the israel embassy in washington d.c. yesterday as an act of protest to palestinian genocide and died for the cause, yet so many of y’all were whining and complaining all of last week because participating in the global strike for gaza.

Aaron Bushnell died. The active duty US soldier who self immolated in front of the Israeli embassy died of his wounds - he died screaming “Free Palestine” as he burned. He said he no longer wanted to be complicit in genocide. This is the second person to self immolate because of Palestinian Genocide and I hope his story doesn’t get swept under the rug like the first.
