((So, I dunno if anyone’s actually noticed, but my activity has been sparse here. Not for lack of time but for lack of motivation. Which I’ve been trying to fix but nothings been coming to me.

So I’m going to be trying a different angle, getting back into my OC ways. They’re not really anything to do with this fandom, but I like playing with all y’all so much I’ll be putting the promo here anyway, if anyone’s interested.))

"Honestly, I’m not even sure how we’re having this exchange since we don’t seem to be acting like we’re in the same place. But just in case, I’m going to go deeper into obscurity. Ta ra!”

“Well if she wants to punch me so badly, first she’ll have to catch me. To which I simply say, good luck.”

Who knows, if she were to actually get her hands on Yukari she might even let the impetuous twerp have that punch.

“You kill someone off in just one alternate dimension and they never let you hear the end of it, I swear.”

“There’s no need to get so angry, it was just some light-hearted ribbing. You’re actually a very lovely dog.” Boy those teeth look sharp, she doesn’t want that bark-a-thon to become a bite-a-thon.

But if that’s really what Yukari considers ‘light-hearted’, that’s probably a cause for concern in itself.

Yukari regarded the request but it was clear the marine was still following his aggressive thinking, even if the threat of an outburst had subsided.

“There will be no kill order, Sergeant.” The professional address remained, though a sternness took place of previously sharp tone. “Whoever this ice witch is, it’s the way of such creatures to antagonise and provoke trouble. I’ve managed to keep it a secret thus far, but it’s only matter of time before more people find out about your Oni, at which point you will be exposed to more provocation from beings like that witch. It would go against everything I’ve built here to silence them, so what needs to happen is for you to learn more control.”

The Moment the marine heard Yukari’s sharp cutting tone of voice addressing him. He blinked as he felt his rage subside but not completely go away. However now, he felt his mind was cleared of violent thoughts for the most part. He took a few moments to collect himself before answering her.

 “Madam… I’m requesting an investigation into seeing the motivations of an Ice Witch from Makai and whether or not a Kill order is required. I’m not sure if she was able to sense the oni and was attempting to deliberately provoke it to emerge.” His own voice was cool and steel like. The burning hot rage he felt before was replaced by cold, ruthless thinking. Already he was thinking of what would be the best way to take the witch out. His options were long range attack, likely with sniper rifle or if necessary, The M68 canon. For the former he figured a APFSDS round infused with fire magic would be enough to bring down the witch with one shot to the heart. For the latter, he figured a normal round would be more than enough to bring down a witch.

Yukari did indeed feel the mounting rage coming from the marine. There was really no one else she could have expected it from. However, her arrival was too late to witness the witch. All she saw was Reynolds growling to the winds and showing a distinct lack of control.

One thing to note about empathetic links, the other doesn’t just sense the emotions of the other, they feel them. Of course, Yukari was only feeling a slither of the rage from the marine and she is much more used to keeping her emotions in check, but it didn’t help the annoyance she was feeling for having to be pulled away like this.

Having appeared behind the marine, she wore a scowl on her face and crossed her arms, giving off an air of displeased authority. At the moment he finished his spiel, she demanded his attention with a sharp call before he could possibly continue his thoughts.

“Sergeant! What do you think you’re doing?!” Her tone was quick and cutting, not just to express her annoyance but also to quickly snap Reynolds back to his senses, using his rank to pull him back to the professional mindset of the soldier.

“What the hell do you take me for? An idiot? I might be Human for the time being but I’m not a fool… And you’re damn lucky that I haven’t done something either.” He said to her with an annoyed tone. Hearing her comment about how Makai and Gensokyo would survive, The Staff Sergeant’s eyes twitched from behind his visor. This witch really didn’t know did she? “You’re the one at folly here. Perhaps you didn’t hear me before, in my original time, The Covenant found and Burned Gensokyo, I saw it. The lasers the Danmaku patterns, The found this place and burned it. Who’s to say they won’t find Makai as well?” Lucas said slowly as his rage started to slowly boil over. Somewhere in parts unknown the great Sage Youkai would’ve emphatically felt anger from one of her Shikigami. It wouldn’t have been to hard to figure who it was. 

Hearing Mai’s comment about giving a friend of his a surprise. He was about to say something to the witch who was no longer there physically but may have still been able to hear him. However the marine’s words were cut short by the ice forming around the spring and firing pin. Which triggered the smart link system to flag the weapon as jammed. As well as the chil he felt when frost started to crawl inside his armored suit. The Staff Sergeant was surprised and even caught off guard by the latter. However somewhere in his mind, he regarded the witches words and what she had done to him. Then his mind made a connection that may have been errant but also likely, that the witch intended to do harm to one of his friends. And given her proclamation of being a petty demon witch… that ,in his mind, meant the harm could be lethal. 

The marine gritted his teeth even as the frost had spread under a significant portion of his armor. Then Lucas felt rage it wasn’t at the point of no return yet but if a voice of reason didn’t reign him in soon. Things could turn ugly fast. The frost under his armor melted immediately as magic surged through him, fueled by his own rage. “You Fucking Bitch…. I’ll fucking Kill you…. You hurt one of my friends I’ll fucking te̡ar̛ ̡y͘ou ҉to pie̡ces w҉i͞t͏h m̵y̴ ba̧r͝e̸ ha̕n͡ds. ̴  ” He growled as he felt his rage flash over into an inferno. A group of lesser animal youkai fled away from man, as a decidedly inhuman Aura shined through the human one like a candle within a paper lamp. His master, the sage youkai of Boundaries, would have felt the rage coming from him boil over, and something worse beginning to creep up. Calling, nay demanding for blood, for violence.

Hello all!! Only today have I have noticed the increase in followers on this blog & how much the follower count had grown. I hadn’t been paying that much attention to the blog in that sense & it had grown so much I had missed past milestones & It’s now at the big 300!! I didn’t even think it would reach 100 followers in all honesty. As most my followers know, I’ve been horde hunting for shiny pokémon, Murkrow in particular, but I ended up getting quite the few over the limit. I decided I’d make a giveaway thing tying into that by giving them away!! As well as a few shiny Foongus. So long as you, the mun, understand the consequences of your muse ticking off my muse your muse is allowed to be not nice to mine. Confrontation can be interesting and fun to rp! I welcome it! While you, the mun, should know better than to provoke my muse your muse might not and that’s okay! Mun does not equal muse and vice versa. When your muse provokes mine, disrespects mine, underestimates mine, I am trusting that even if your muse doesn’t know the consequences that you, the other mun, understand there are repercussions for your muse being an asshole.

“Yes. Since you’ve been such a help to Gensokyo in the past I felt you deserved some fore-warning.” Leaving the almost cruel teasing aside, Yukaris approach seemed to be purely friendly. Though the smile would shortly fade for something a bit more grim and serious, her next words nothing to make light of.

“Now I don’t know what rules you do know, but the most important would be that you cannot allow the human village to know you’ve turned. You’ve perhaps heard of the rule that forbids humans of the village turning into Youkai, I assume. While this may not necessarily apply to you since you live outside the village, we can’t have the status quo being questioned there, so do be mindful of that.”

This first rule probably doesn’t even apply to Youkai in general, but with an edge case such as this there was undoubtedly going to be some adaptation.

The Border of Change

The vampire witch did nothing but narrow her eyes at the gap youkai for a while, but eventually, Marisa relaxed her grip, a small amount of vampire blood dribbling between her fingers. The shift in mood gave her a small bit of relief, thought not much.

“Is that why ya actually came, to tell me that?” She didn’t actually know Gensokyo’s rules for youkai very well, seeing as she’d never actively saught to become one–actually, that wasn’t exactly true. Immortality interested her for quite a while, sure, but it wasn’t like she thought she’d actually achieve it. Looking back, perhaps it was a self-fulfilling prophecy: if she never actually looked into immortality, maybe this would have never happened. That was nothing but conjecture, though, and in the end, maybe it never made a difference.
