Grand Slam Thank You Ma'am

The Bronx Bombers have won game one of the ALDS against the Tampa Bay Rays. Gerrit Cole was superb in game one as he pitched six innings and only gave up three runs with eight k’s. Not his most dominant start, but it was more than good enough to hold the Rays’ great hitting numbers at bay. The Bombers lived up to their name by hitting four homeruns and scoring 10 runs last night. GIANCARLO STANTON was the Gas Sports player of the night hitting a 9th inning grand slam to secure the win.

Miami marlins

The Miami Marlins season has been riddled with highs and lows such losing a total of 5 relief pitchers from a span July 23 – Aug 18. Being amongst the corona epicenter and being forced to refrain from playing games through a stretch early in the season. The resilience shown by the marlins has been nothing less than extraordinary squeaking in the playoffs with a .517-win percentage (tied with 3 teams of the same record). Marlins fans not only are rejoicing that their team is in playoff contention for the first time since the 2003 season. Posting a rather subpar .244 team batting average, but the stats do not tell the entire story of their historic rise to the playoffs this year. Brian Anderson and Miguel Rojas have led the team’s offensive turnaround, while Aguilar, Jon Berti and Garrett Cooper have shown they can be rather productive in clutch situations. The pitching staff has been electric with their young core including Alcantara, Pablo Lopez and Sixto Sanchez. Expect to see great pitching and promising offensive moments from a team on the rise in search of their third world series appearance.
