The Kids Are Alright is great for many reasons but my personal favorite reason is Kadaj literally being shot, with a gun, and his reaction basically being "bro wtf why'd you do that"

do you think genesis is coming
I'm still not sure. I WANT him to show up. And with the recent news about Gackt doing some character voice acting, I think the timing is VERY sus. It's certainly possible. With that said, the pessimist in me thinks that the new character will probably be for Before Crisis. Idk, I just have a gut feeling. We're not going to know for sure until the anniversary, which still feels centuries away with how slow the game is atm. I still can't believed they skipped a story update for an entire month and will likely skip AGAIN for anniversary month. EC drives me bonkers sometimes.
Anyway, don't lose faith, anon! I'm sure Genesis will get here eventually. We'll see what happens.

Just got done reading “The Kids Are Alright: A Turks Side Story”.
Without divulging anything plot-wise, there was a part where Kadaj says, “Sephiroth? Yes, I know the name. I felt him in the Lifestream, though only faintly. I didn’t care for him.” This echoes the same disdain or even sense of jealousy that Kadaj expresses for Sephiroth in AC when speaking with Rufus.
This has always seemed strange to me. I asked myself, “Why does an entity that’s supposed to be an extension of someone with some serious megalomania hate him?”
Two things (finally) occurred to me. One was a simple reminder of the fact that Kadaj is the Remnant meant to represent Sephiroth’s madness. The other is how the trek to that madness began–or at least became openly apparent–in Sephiroth’s natural life. It did not begin in the Shinra Manor’s basement. It began in the Nibelheim reactor, when he saw the Makonoids and felt compelled to ask, “Was I created this way, too?” His body language is a tell, suddenly lashing out at the pods, possessed of hatred for the very thing he in that moment saw as his origin, and by extension, his very worth.
And it finally dawned on me: Kadaj hates Sephiroth because Sephiroth’s descent into madness started with an overwhelming tide of self-loathing. His susceptibility to megalomania may have been because his actual uniqueness made it the clearest escape route from his initial terror.
#as the Kadaj expert I approve of this message#it's also worth noting that Kadaj is an independent being and also hates Sephiroth purely out of jealousy#and the fact that he wants to have his own identity outside of Sephiroth

Body types for the firsts?
Genesis is like a lovely 6'2 and, by all accounts, is pretty built. But he's the tiniest member of the First trio and it drives him absolutely INSANE. He's wiry and sleek for the most part, designed more for speed and agility than pure brute force. In combat, he mostly relies on his speedy swordplay and magic attacks in order to win. Genesis is the most prominent magic user of the trio with the highest level of skill in terms of utilizing Materia.
Angeal is a TANK. Stocky, beefy, hairy. Absolute Daddy material. He's got the largest upper body mass and us generally considered your main man when it comes to raw brute force. Which also means he's the slowest in battle. He's the best when it comes to physical attacks not involving weapons because he could easily wrestle his enemies into submission. Angeal has the weakest skills with Materia overall. And he's actually very body conscious since he's not as soft and pretty as Sephiroth and Genesis. You're perfect just the way you are, Angeal!
Sephiroth is like the perfect combination of both his friends. Lean, yet very built. Fast on his feet, yet TEEMING with raw physicality. Great with materia. Great with a weapon. Lithe and quick, yet an absolute powerhouse on the battlefield. He is obviously the strongest member of the trio, and by an unattainable landslide. Genesis manages to squeak past him in magical talents simply because Sephiroth prefers not to rely on magic as much in a fight. Sephiroth is also taller than Angeal, but only by a few inches. Honestly, it's really not fair comparing him to his two friends. He never ASKED to be leagues beyond them. Oh well.
