Synopsis of Episode 3: The Butler, dispatched/on loan: anime vs manga

Breaking the taboo, Sebastian and Ciel investigate the "Forest of the Werewolves," and an abnormality appears in their bodies.

Ciel undergoes a purification ritual conducted by Sullivan but becomes weakened both in mind and body.

Sullivan presents an unexpected condition to Sebastian, who continues to request the master's treatment.

We are now on to the nitty-gritty part of the arc, where Ciel has to face his past once again.

Notice Ranma's reaction to seeing Akane in her traditional wedding kimono.

After the initial blush and heart throbbing, his expression is so soft.

When this wedding is sprung on him, he doesn't deny wanting to marry her. We get that character growth we've all been longing to hear indirectly stated.

Sadly, we never get Ranma's completed sentence.

We do, however, get him reminiscing about how cute Akane looked.

This. As much as I enjoy Shampoo's character, I also believe she will lose interest in Ranma, or in helping him get his strength back if she is in that arc. Akane is the only one who willingly went there to help him without other motives and even continued trying to do so by walking into that tornado to get the chart.. even after being told by Ranma that he didn't even want her to be there, to witness his weak state. Akane might be the 'weakest' of them physically but her conviction and care for Ranma is much stronger than any rival/suitor.

About the whole bashing of Akane by Ranpoo shippers/Shampoo stans, I wonder if Shampoo was made absent by Takahashi in the Ranma made weak by Happosai arc is because Cologne knew Shampoo would lose interest in Ranma because of that. I'm not saying Ryoga or Ukyo are perfect either (Ryoga even attempting to murder Ranma!) but I know they and Akane wouldn't be shallow enough to drop Ranma just for being weak. If Shampoo stans think she "deserves" Ranma more than "abusive" Akane because she's stronger or "prettier" then they have missed the whole point of the story.

This is so true. Shampoo does not actually care for Ranma. She thinks she has a right to him and they need to be married because he beat her but besides that I don’t think she actually likes him. I do think she also may be more interested in him because of that fact that he has a fiancée so it’s just another thing for her to win. Also yes of course Ukyo and Ryoga suck no matter how much I love them but I think they’re the only 2 where personality is the main reason they fell for Ranma/Akane. Kodachi is debatable because of Ranma’s kindness but we honestly don’t see enough of Kodachi to give her any great moments. Yeah Shampoo would not give one care about Ranma anymore if he was weak.

I've been preparing for this possibility too ever since the twins got revealed. 😭 Lizzy was among the pile of dead bodies in a panel talking about O!Ciel's chess pieces, so this, with all the things that happened so far.. Makes it an possibility 🥲

Another Theory

Foreshadowing and Lizzy’s death. I made a theory that Lizzy might die at the end of Black Butler a while back but now I’d like to share another possible foreshadowing of it with official art by Yana. Again it’s a theory and Manga SPOILERS🚨

As you can see in the picture. Cielizzy are in bride and groom outfits looking dead/empty.

My theory is that Lizzy will die in the end considering I see this art as a reference to Frankenstein. A short partial summary of the story(not the overall meaning of story) is Victor Frankenstein marries a girl named Elizabeth. For the people who know the story, Victor also created a monster. That monster kills Victors bride.

So basically Elizabeth is caught in the battle between Victor the creator and The monster. I think the monster can be considered in the black butler manga to be either of the twins or both since metaphorically both twins are killing Lizzy. Or O!Ciel could even be considered partially creator of what’s currently going on because of the contract made after the events while R!Ciel can be considered the monster created. In the photo notice how undertaker is holding a skeleton and Sebastian has something that looks like eyes under a platter? It kind of reminds me of how it’s the Monster was made in Frankenstein. Which was with parts of someone/people who died and a mind he developed after a series of events. Undertaker helped bring back R!Ciel but R!Ciel has a grudge against Sebastian after what happened as shown in the manga. If Lizzy died due to being in the crossfire of both twins I think it’s safe to say that would ultimately break O!Ciel considering how much he cares for her and said he’d protect her.

Anyways what do you think? I personally think it’s a bit too coincidental but that’s just me. Also if Lizzy were to die I think it’s possible she could throw her life away in order to protect O!Ciel(not only because she’d do it already based off how we’ve seen how much she grew to care for him but maybe also because of guilt for not being there for him when he needed it.). We haven’t seen anyone turn into a shinigami in the series yet so it’d be interesting if she was the one to turn into one by the end of the series.
