How To Style A Modern Pompadour
The modern pompadour offers a cool twist on a classic hairstyle. As one of the most versatile and stylish haircuts for men in 2018, learning how to style a pompadour is crucial to wearing the cut right. This guide will tell you everything you need to know about the men’s pompadour hairstyle, including how to do all its variations.
From the pomp fade with a hard part to long hair with a beard, check out our step-by-step instructions to styling this sexy look.
Best Modern Pompadour Haircuts
While the modern pompadour still styles the little poof in the front, the latest trends focus more on loose, textured hair. And although a short pompadour is still perfectly appropriate and trendy, more guys are focusing on medium length to long hairstyles that provide a variety of styling options.
Pompadour Fade
One of the most common variations of the new pomp is the pompadour fade. With the sides faded and the hair on top longer, this fresh look has become very popular in barbershops. The extra length also means you can always change your hairstyle and style a comb over, quiff, or just leave your hair messy.
Undercut Pompadour
Like the previous example, the pompadour undercut shapes your hair short on the sides for a high-contrast style. Because the undercut hairstyle continues to be a major trend, this type of pompadour is a great way to cut and style your hair.
Side Part Pompadour
Also known as the comb over pomp, the side part pompadour is a slightly different take on the traditional look. Instead of combing your hair up and back, the comb over pompadour uses a part and sweeps your hair to one side. Combined with a matte pomade finish, this creative version blends classy and hot together.
Curly Pompadour
While most guys may think styling a curly pompadour is too difficult, taming your curly hair into the hairstyle may not be as hard as you think. With the help of some special pomade for curls, the curly pomp affords an awesome look.
Long Pompadour
For more height and volume, you may want to try the long pompadour. Longer hair has become more fashionable, and styling a pompadour with long hair is a great idea.
Short Pompadour
The short pompadour is made with a small poof. While the contrast may be less, doing a pompadour with short hair offers a beautiful balance of modern style and simplicity.
How To Style A Pompadour
The pompadour can seem like a hard haircut to get and manage. Fortunately, all you really need is a little styling product and a comb. Here’s a basic guide on how to do a pompadour.
First, towel dry your hair, but leave it slightly damp. The best time to style is after a shower.
Now blow dry your hair while combing it up and back.
With a little pomade or wax, run your hands through your hair. Start with the sides, then the top.
Slowly smooth in the product with your palms and fingers. Be sure to apply enough to to the hair in front.
Depending on whether you want a messy or neat finish, use your comb to create the look you want.
Combing your hair into a pompadour may take some practice, so until you’ve mastered the style, allow yourself extra time in your morning routine.
Best Hair Product For A Pompadour
Although some guys still like to use gel, we believe the best pompadour hair product to be a pomade or wax. Gels are flaky and stiff, and a good pomade or wax can provide the right amount of hold, shine, and flexibility. For these reasons, the best hair products for styling a pomp come from brands like Suavecito, Layrite, Uppercut Deluxe, TIGI Bed Head, Baxter of California, and American Crew.
Cool Pompadour Hairstyles
Because the pompadour comes in so many different lengths, hair types, and styles, there are several ways guys can get the look. Here are more examples of how to style a modern pompadour and make the hairstyle unique to you.

Wavy Pomp + Mid Fade + Line Up

Cool Men’s Hairstyles 2018 | Men’s Hairstyles + Haircuts 2018
Every year, barbers around the world try to outdo each other by coming up with new cool men’s hairstyles. These popular haircuts for men range from short to medium to long, classic to modern, textured to slick, and everything in between. And in the last decade, these talented stylists haven’t disappointed, creating some of the coolest cuts and styles to date.
For example, 2017 saw a surge in textured short to medium length hair. While the undercut and fade continue to be trendy options, tapered haircuts on the sides have grown more common. As for the hair on top, men seem to prefer longer styles versus very short cuts. Since longer hair translates into more styling options, the best hairstyles to get in 2018 will likely be the comb over, quiff, faux hawk, slick back, and crop top with a long fringe. All of these cool haircut styles can look good messy, textured, or neat.
Just remember that picking the hottest new trend to get also depends on your hair type, face shape, and personal sense of style. Although most of the top haircuts for men look just as fresh with straight, thick, wavy or curly hair, it’s always important to consider these factors.
Below, you’ll find a list of cool men’s haircuts for 2018. These stylish hair trends represent the latest and most popular styles for guys to try on their next visit to the barbershop!
Low Bald Fade + Spiky Fohawk + Heart Design
A faux hawk worn with a low bald fade offers a beautiful high-contrast style. The heart design in the neckline is a cool touch as well!
Pompadour Fade
The pompadour fade has remained an awesome men’s style. This textured variation, paired with a clean fade, is just cut and styled to perfection.
Wavy Faux Hawk + Undercut + Hair Designs
A short, sexy faux hawk and sweet undercut combine for a look that will stand out in any crowd.
Mid Bald Fade + Textured Spiky Hair
Every guy with thick hair should try this textured spiky look styled with pomade.
Short Crop Top + Fringe + High Bald Fade + Edge Up
This creative textured crop and short fringe combination make for a very unique look. Complete with a cool fade and line up, show your barber this picture for one awesome haircut.
Low Fade + V-Shaped Neckline + Spiked Blonde Hair
V-shaped necklines and dyed hair have become a hit as more men look for ways to create new styles.
Hard Part Comb Over Fade + Beard
The hard part comb over never fails to impress. And this version, with a fresh fade and trimmed beard, will have the girls swarming you!
High Drop Fade + 2 Lines Design + Spiked Top
This drop fade meshes perfectly into your neckline for a clean cut finish. Meanwhile, the half spiked and half textured hairstyle on top is one of the first of its kind.
Fohawk + Razor Fade + Cross Design
Shaved sides or skin fades continue to be a favorite in barbershops. The longer hair on top, styled into a fohawk here, also allows you to do a comb over, quiff, or pomp.
Long Slick Back Undercut + Handlebar Mustache & Beard
This modern twist on a retro style has become the ultimate hipster haircut. The slick back and undercut will always look good together.
Undercut Fade + Short Textured Faux Hawk
This cool faded undercut contrasts well with the short fohawk on top.
Comb Over Fade + Hard Part
The modern comb over has revitalized this old school look, and part of the reason is the fade and hard part twist.
Short Curly Hair on Top + Low Fade
For a low-maintenance and easy way to style curly hair, try a short cut.
Low Burst Fade + Dyed Short Hair
The messy short hair on top and low burst fade on the sides makes for an attractive choice.
Short Curly Afro + Low Bald Drop Fade + Shape Up
While waves and buzz cuts will always look hot on black men, even black hair is starting to trend longer.
Low Skin Fade + Spikes
Although some guys are experimenting with tapered cuts, the bald fade won’t be disappearing anytime soon.
Top Knot + Shaved Sides + Neckline Design
Although the top knot may not have the staying power of the man bun, the best part of this example is the shaved sides and custom design.
Thick Textured Hair + Low Fade
The low fade may be the most common type of fade because of its versatility.
Undercut Fade + Loose Quiff
The quiff haircut comes in many variations – short, long, modern, classic – and allows guys the opportunity to change their look on a daily basis.
Slicked Back Undercut
Many short sides, long top hairstyles can be styled slick or textured and straight back or angular. This ability to change your look is one of the many reasons longer styles have exploded onto the scene.
Short Quiff + Mid Skin Fade
If you have thick hair, we highly recommend a skin fade on the sides for a contrasting finish. Plus, this top balances between a quiff and longer crop.
Modern Flowing Side Part + Undercut
With hipster hair still trending, 2018 will have longer hairstyles worn in looser styles.
Classic Tapered Sides + Messy Pomp
The classic taper haircut offers a longer alternative to the fade. While fades are still the most popular way to cut your sides, this classic scissor cut may be an alternative worth testing.
Long High Comb Over + Part + Taper Fade
With loose and messy styles comes a chance for more volume and height. Try a long comb over styled high with a taper fade on the sides for a different approach.
Platinum Crop + Fade
Bleached hair for men has been a new development that will definitely carry over to the new year. Platinum blonde, grey and white hair definitely add a little something extra to any look.
Long Textured Messy Crop
If you’re a guy with wavy hair, don’t be discouraged because your locks are hard to tame. Generally, shorter haircuts are ideal for high-maintenance hair types, so try a messy cropped cut.
Short Curly Hair + Skin Fade + Line Up + Part
Textured Modern Quiff
Bald Fade + Messy Medium Top
Curly Fringe + Low Taper Fade
High Taper Fade + Brushed Back Hair
Taper Fade + Side Part + Side Swept Fringe
Comb Over Undercut
Textured Crop Top + Part + High Skin Fade
Blonde Slicked Back Hair + Fade

New Long Hairstyles For Men 2018
Longer hair and long hairstyles have become a growing trend. While last year was all about growing your hair out and styling it short to medium length, popular longer men’s haircuts will continue to be cool in 2018. And as more guys with long hair style these modern looks, it’s time we reviewed the various new ways men can wear their locks.
For starters, keeping your sides and back short with a fade or undercut and pairing it with a long top will always be a stylish approach. These medium length hairstyles include the quiff, comb over, pompadour, slick back, etc. However, most hairstyles for men with long hair tend to be at least shoulder length so that guys can put them up in a man bun or let them flow free.
For ideas on the range of new looks to try this year, check out our complete guide on long hairstyles for men.
Hairstyles For Men with Long Hair
If you’re thinking about hairstyles for long hair, then we have a number of cool styles for you to pick from.
Man Bun
The fact that the man bun continues to be seen is a testament to its staying power. No longer considered a fad, man bun styles work beautifully for guys who want a simple yet trendy way to rock their long hair.
Top Knot
The top knot came onto the scene around the same time as the man bun, but hasn’t enjoyed the same following. While the top knot is remarkably similar to a ponytail, the difference is the placement of the tie up and the often faded, undercut or shaved sides.
Man Ponytail
The male ponytail is one of the easiest and most common longer styles. Whether you’re in the process of growing your hair long or already have length, you’ll eventually try this low-maintenance hairstyle.
Long Curly Hair
If you have long curly hair but aren’t sure how to style it, why not let your haircut simply flow naturally. As one of the best long hairstyles for men with thick hair, this natural look can weigh down your curls while allowing them to add something unique! You may even want to apply some light pomade for a textured finish.
Shoulder Length
Cool men’s shoulder length hairstyles don’t have to be complicated to look good. You don’t need dreads, braided sections, or some hipster spin that requires regular styling. Instead, you can sweep your hair behind your ears, part it in the middle, or just let everything fall naturally.
How To Style Long Hair
Styling long hair for men doesn’t mean you have to follow some ridiculous care regiment or brush your hair a hundred times each night. Basic hair care really starts with a few key products to keep everything healthy. For example, a good shampoo and conditioner is a basic requirement. Then a quality styling product can make all the difference in getting the long hairstyles you want.
Best Hairstyles For Long Hair
Here are more examples of the best men’s long hairstyles you’ll love! From formal styles for proms or weddings to hipster or business attire, there’s something for everyone! And for good measure, we’ve also incorporated some medium length cuts if these others are too lengthy for you!
Brushed Up Hair + Faded Sides
Braided Man Bun
Messy Shoulder Length + Beard
Brushed Back Messy Long Hair
Low Taper Fade + Textured Modern Comb Over
Long Messy Comb Over + Tapered Sides
Long Middle Part Hairstyle
Curly Medium Length Top + Long Beard
Long Wavy Fringe + Shaved Sides + Beard
Thick Man Bun + Long Beard
Long Textured Quiff + Short Sides + Beard
Naturally Flowing Hair
Thick Brush Up
High Fade + Pompadour + Texture
Slicked Back Undercut

The Milkmaid Braid With a Headband: Hairstyle Raid!
Howdy, gang! We’re here today to help you add another easy hairstyle to your arsenal. It’s our mission to make sure you’ve got fabulous hair on the reg, after all! For this one, all you need is an extra-long wire headband and, well, your hair.
We’re using a wire headband from Colette Malouf, which sells so many adorable luxury accessories. It’s a little on the expensive side, yes, but it’s very high quality and so versatile! If you don’t have a wire headband on hand, consider a piece of ribbon or fabric. The wire makes it easier to manipulate your hair, though.
We think this particular hairstyle is perfect for those hot summer days when you want all your hair off your neck. It’s also great for poolside lounging or splashing, as it’ll keep your locks nice and dry. Or just wear it out on a day of errand running. This one’s certainly a contender for day two or three hair.
Tutorial: The Milkmaid Braid With a Headband
Step One: Divide Hair in Half Using your fingers or a comb, separate your hair into two sections. You don’t have to be too precise. We love milkmaid braids because they’re carefree and a little “lived in”.
Step Two: Wrap The Headband Around Your Neck and Braid Place the headband behind your neck, making sure it’s even on both sides. Then, divide the left section of hair into two sections. Using the headband as a third section, create a tight, three-strand braid. Repeat on the other side.
Step Three: Lift Braids Up Finally, lift both braids up and around the top of your head. Use the wire headband, and bobby pins if needed, to secure. We like to tuck the pieces underneath so they lie flat against the head, but you can also do some dog ears or play with different shapes. The wire headband makes it easy to manipulate into something super cute.

Half Up Topknot Tutorial – Let Loose With This Easy How-To
Hey everyone! This is Jenny from The Confessions of a Hairstylist and I am back to share another amazing hair tutorial with you. With topknots on their way out, we make room for the half up topknot! This look is fresh and almost every woman can rock it.
The half up topknot works great for women who loves wearing their hair down, but want to add a little bit of spunk to their down style.
This look is ideal for second-day hair or for you ladies that like a lot of texture in your styles. If you’re going for the “dirty hair don’t care” look on clean hair, then blast your hair with a little bit of dry shampoo for texture and volume before you get started. Now follow my easy step by steps to learn about this must-do hairstyle for summer!
What You Need:
– Your favorite dry shampoo (optional)
– A clear elastic
– 3-4 bobby pins
– Your favorite light hold hairspray
The Half Up Topknot Tutorial:
1. Take your pointer fingers and starting around your temple area, part your hair creating a crescent shape.
2. Pull all the hair above the temple area upwards and create a ponytail in your crown area.
3. Secure your ponytail with an elastic band
4. Since this is a half knot, you tend not to have as much hair in your ponytail. I suggest slightly teasing it for bulk and volume.
5. Now, create a bun shape by taking your teased ponytail and wrapping it around your elastic band.
6. Secure with bobby pins
7. To create a tousled texture, lighty tug on your hair to create a looser looking topknot.
8. Finish this look off with a medium hold hairspray.
Pretty easy, right? This is the perfect hairstyle for everyday wear, or even a special date night or girls weekend. I hope you’ll try this half up topknot tutorial soon! For even more fabulous hair tips and tutorials, come visit me at The Confessions of a Hairstylist and subscribe to my YouTube channel.

The Ultimate Mermaid Braid Tutorial for Beginners and Experts Alike
You don’t have to be a mermaid to have a mermaid braid! This is Melissa from MissySue.com and I am here to tell you that the mermaid braid is the newest thing in hair. They’ve been all the rage this season!
Just think of it as the upgraded French braid. This beautiful hairstyle can be dressed up for a night out or worn in a more casual way for an everyday hairstyle.
What is neat about this type of braid is that if you already know the basics of braiding and have mastered the French braid, then it’ll be a piece of cake to do.
The technique behind the braid is exactly the same as French braiding, but when strands are pulled in, they are thinner and smaller so that the hair underneath shows through. This gives it a more intricate and detailed look since the individual pieces are showing up a lot more.
Do not hesitate to give this mermaid braid tutorial a try. I guarantee you will love it and find yourself wearing it more than you think!
The Ultimate Mermaid Braid Tutorial:
1. Start with a deep side part and pull all the hair over the opposite shoulder. 2. Divide out a section of hair at the back of the head on the heavy side of the part. 3. Divide this into three pieces for the braid. 4. Cross the back strand over the middle. 5. Cross the front strand over the middle. 6. Cross the back strand over the middle, then bring in small section of hair directly below where the braid began. 7. Cross the front strand over the middle and add in a small section of hair directly in front of the braid. 8. Repeat steps 6 and 7, pulling in skinny sections until the braid reaches the bottom of the hair. 9. Once all the hair is braided, tie off the end with an elastic band.

The Easiest Knotted Updo Tutorial You’ll Ever Try
Hello! This is Melissa from MissySue.com and I am excited to share this ridiculously easy knotted updo tutorial with you today. For once it pays to have your hair all knotty because this hairstyle is done by actually tying it!
This knotted ‘do is perfect because it is one of those styles that can be worn with sunglasses and a pair of jeans during the day, or a little sequined dress and some heels in the evening. I am sure with everything we do all day, having a hairstyle that can transition from day to night is always a must-have in our beauty regimen.
This hairstyle really does require a little bit of hair tying, but the back portion can be changed up to accommodate any type of knot or wrapped bun. Just play around a little bit and see how it works out for you. This can literally be worn nearly anywhere and is the perfect everyday hairstyle!
The Easy Knotted Updo Tutorial:
1. Begin with a part on the right side, then separate off a square section of hair from the part down to eye level.
2. Pick up a small section of hair next to the part and divide it into two halves.
3. Cross the back half over the front so it creates a small space between the two strands.
4. Wrap the tail through the hole created so the hair forms half a knot.
5. Pull it tight so it lays against the head and pick up small sections of hair, adding them into each strand.
6. Create a second knot by crossing the back strand over the front, then looping the end through the hole before pulling it tight again.
7. Repeat step 6, bringing in hair and tying it into knots.
8. Continue tying knots until it reaches the end of the strands, then tie it off with a clear elastic band and pin it against the back of the head.
9. Pick up a two-inch section of hair at the center of the back of the head and wrap the strand around your fingers. Twist the fingers counter-clockwise so the hair forms a little knot.
10. Secure the knot in place with hair pins.
11. Next, pick up another two-inch section of hair to the right of the first knot in step 9.
12. Wrap this hair into another knot and pin it in place.
13. Next, pick up a section of hair below the second knot and create a third knot, securing it against the head with hair pins.
14. Then take a section of hair to the left of the first knot and wrap it into another knot, securing it with hair pins.
15. Finally, pick up the last section of hair and create one last knot, securing it with pins.

Best Razors For Men 2018
Whether you’re shaving your beard, head or chest, all men know that a good shave requires a quality razor. And while some guys prefer to buy cheap razors and blades, we believe trimming your body and facial hair is important enough to invest in good shaving tools. After all, even men with the most stylish and flawless technique need a little help sometimes, and that is where the best men’s razors come in. Top-rated razors can sculpt and sophisticate your facial hair, providing a smooth experience free of cuts and bumps.
Fortunately for you, the best shave of your life is right at your fingertips. But much like choosing the perfect men’s hairstyle, picking the right razor for your face involves making a few important decisions before getting that close shave.
After learning about the different types of razors and the pros and cons of each, check out our reviews of the best razors on the market.
How To Pick The Best Razor For Men
With so many factors to consider and razors for men to choose from, guys may find it overwhelming to research and review all the products out there. So before we jump into discussing the best shaving razor and blades, here are a few things to keep in mind when shopping around.
Types of Razors
Purchasing a new men’s razor becomes complicated when you consider all of the varieties available, but knowing their distinct purpose can make personal grooming a lot easier. There are four main types of razors available: safety, cartridge, straight, and disposable.
Safety Razors
Safety razors are popular, as they only have the end of the blade exposed to avoid unnecessary cuts to the skin. The double-edged safety razor is favored by beginners and experienced shavers for its ease of use, but the blade is kept at a restricted angle, making its versatility rather limited as a precise tool.
Cartridge Razors
Cartridge razors are extremely convenient, but vary in quality depending on the brand. You buy the cartridges of razors separately and replace them when the blade becomes dull. Constantly replacing the razor cartridge (e.g. blades) may become costly over time, especially if you prefer the closest shave possible without nicks and cuts.
Straight Razors
Straight razors are for obtaining the most precise, classic shave possible. This kind of razor is dangerous to use for beginners, since it is easy to cut or nick your face using this tool. The straight razor has been used for centuries, but even the most seasoned of shavers should approach this shaving tool with caution! Practice makes for the perfect shave with this type of razor.
Disposable Razors
Disposable razors offer a cheap shave for those who aren’t interested in investing in a more expensive or high-quality option. The blade and handle are one piece, and this razor is thrown away once it gets too dull for proper use. This is an affordable way to get a decent shave, but your skin may suffer the consequences.
What’s Your Everyday Shaving Routine?
Guy’s haircuts vary greatly, and your facial hair may take just as much time to perfect. Before you decide on a type of razor, take a look at your daily shaving routine. If you’d like to make your morning routine fast with just a few swipes, choose a cartridge or disposable razor for a quick, clean shave. Safety and straight razors are better for guys who like to take their time.
Identify Your Skin Type
Those with sensitive skin may not want to reach for a disposable razor, which can be harsh on your face. A multi-blade cartridge razor can lead to excessive skin removal and increased irritation and bumps. Reach for a safety razor for a close shave without too much wear and tear on your skin, or a cartridge razor with lubricating strips attached to soothe your face and effectively remove stubble.
Shaving Creams
With that being said, a quality shaving cream can go a long way. In fact, we’ve found that the best shaving creams absolutely enhance the experience, resulting in a close shave without drying your face out or irritating your skin. For example, Taylor of Old Bond Street’s Sandalwood Shave Cream actually prepares your beard for shaving and moisturizes your face in the process.
Get A Grip On Your Razor’s Handle
A man’s main focus is usually on the quality of the blade, but a razor’s handle holds equal importance. Make sure it has good grip to decrease the likelihood of a slip that could injure your face or ruin your beard design.
Price vs. Value
Your price range will determine your razor’s level of precision and quality. Buying a pack of cheap BiC disposables may get the job done, but investing in a better model will give you the ideal results. While the best razors aren’t cheap, they are certainly affordable. Remember, the top products in the market are built to last, so consider your purchase a long-term investment in taking care of yourself well.
The Best Men’s Razors 2018
There have been a ton of new razor brands emerging the last few years, but these top-rated products are the ones you should consider buying. Here are the best razors and blades for men in 2018. Check out these reviews before you invest in your next grooming tool.
Gillette Mach3 Turbo Razor
Gillette is at the forefront of the shaving world, and it’s no surprise that the Mach3 Turbo lands at the top of this list. If you are looking for a high-quality disposable razor, you have met your match. The Mach3 Turbo will cost you a little less than $10, and its advanced features reveal why this disposable razor costs more than other brands.
The Mach3 Turbo is designed to get as close to the hair follicle as possible, giving you a clean shave every single time. The blades are sharper than other disposable competitors, and this razor results in less skin irritation. The Lubrastrip soothes your skin as the razor passes over your skin, and when it fades to white, you know to change the blade.
This razor offers a ton of shaving power for the price, and it’s perfect for anyone looking for a quality product they can reuse!
Merkur Futur Adjustable Safety Razor
The Merkur Futur is bringing out the big guns. This intricate and seamless model comes from Germany, and it’s crafted to perfect a man’s most elegant shave. Not only is the Futur’s appearance sleek, but it can handle even the most burly of beards. It has six settings that allow you to customize your shave, from slight stubble to facial hair that would make a lumberjack proud. This adjustable safety razor also allows experienced users the ability to experiment with how aggressive of a shave they want.
This razor would have definitely taken the top spot if it wasn’t so pricey for most guys. Plus, beginners should be aware of its heavy design and super sharp blade. You may need to go slow if you are a safety razor novice, but the Futur can conquer even the most untamed facial territory. Priced at less than $60, it’s an all-in-one shaving tool!
Gillette Fusion Proglide Power Men’s Razor
Gillette is obviously one of the best razor brands men can buy. The Fusion Proglide Power is a powerhouse in the cartridge razor category. For around $13, you can get an extremely clean shave, quickly. This model comes with FlexBall technology, which provides thinner blades for less irritation and closer results. You are given the option of battery-powered micro pulses that take your shaving precision to the next level with a seamless glide. The Proglide Power even takes care of pesky stubble with microcomb technology.
The blades on this razor are surprisingly precise, and the lubrastrip provides an even stronger barrier against skin irritation. With five blades and a separate blade for edging, those replacements can start to add up. Nonetheless, this razor is powerful enough to look past any extra costs that comes with time.
Schick Hydro 5 Power Select Razor
Schick is another company that can’t be beat when it comes to good razors. The Hydro 5 contains five blades that work against irritation while achieving a clean, close shave. This razor offers a variety of settings to match your shaving preference, and the innovative gel reservoir keeps your face hydrated long after your morning shave is over.
This disposable razor comes with a price tag of around $6, which is remarkably affordable for its advanced features. The Hydro 5 makes the smoothness of your skin a priority, and even includes a flip-trimmer so you can reach every inch of hair. Don’t count a disposable razor out — the Hydro 5 has proven to be one of the best men’s razors available!
Merkur Heavy Duty Classic Safety Razor
This German-crafted brand needs no introduction. The 34C safety razor is perfect for those who enjoy expert grooming tools, and its features are designed for those who are getting accustomed to the intense shave of a straight razor. Despite its one-blade design, this razor caters to those with sensitive skin through impeccable blade alignment.
The handle’s pattern provides ample grip, and the blade isn’t as intense as the other Merkur safety razor model on our list. This two-piece razor is easy to clean and provides a seamless shaving experience. For less than $30, you really can’t go wrong, and the 34C safety razor has everything you need and more for getting started with a classic experience.
Feather SS Japanese Straight Razor
A straight razor is the best way to obtain the cleanest shave possible, and the Feather SS Japanese Straight Razor doesn’t disappoint. This razor’s blades are some of the sharpest in the entire grooming industry. They are easily replaceable, simply pinch the old one to remove and replace it with a fresh blade. The stainless steel design of this razor is timeless, and the silicon resin handle is easy to grip and heat-resistant.
Although this razor may seem intimidating to straight razor newbies, it’s extremely user-friendly design allows any man to get the cleanest shave imaginable. The rounded shaving head provides you with control, and you can get a modern shave in a flash. The Feather SS will set you back around $50, and this quality grooming tool is worth every single penny!
Dorco Pace 6 Plus
Dorco is not a widely-known men’s grooming company, but this review may change that. Fans of the Dollar Shave Club may recognize the Pace 6 Plus. That’s because Dorco is the manufacturer of DSC’s razors; the company just rebrands Dorco’s products as their own and then marks up the price!
This men’s razor contains six blades, which means you spend less time in front of the mirror. The Pace 6 Plus also features a tilting head for added precision, and a lubricating strip with lavender oil for instant skin hydration. For not much more than $20, you won’t find a cleaner, faster shave. This price tag also includes 10 cartridge refills.
Buying The Best Shaving Tools
The world of men’s grooming tools definitely evolved this year. These men’s razor reviews reveal that there is a product for everyone! So no matter if you like unruly facial hair or a clean-shaven face, these are the best razors to do the job.

Disconnected Undercut Ideas and Complete Guide (Updated 2017)
The disconnected undercut is when your hair is short on the sides and long on top. Instead of blending the sides with the top, there’s a sharp contrast or transition between the two, so the two sides are “disconnected” gives it a cool and edgy look. With longer hair, it’s usually slicked back or back and to the side, which is called a modern quiff. This is also referred to as simply an “undercut.” The length for this is best when your hair touches anywhere between your eye brows and the bottom of your nose.
Fades on a Disconnected Undercut
Typically, there will be a slight fade on the sides and back leading up to line separating it from the top. Lately, the fade has been getting shorter, almost to a bald fade at the bottom and a gradual fade up to a size 1 guard near the top. If you’re not comfortable with a bald fade, then ask your barber for the clipper to be set between one and three. A more modern look is to have a taper fade at the bottom, to give it more natural and clean look.
What to Tell Your Barber
Ask for the “disconnected undercut”
Let them know what kind of fade you want, if at all. If they use clippers, ask for anywhere between a 0 and 3.
Ask for to a taper fade around the very edges at the neck line for that clean and modern look.
Ask for extra space around your ears so that as your short hair on the side grows, it won’t grow over your ears as quickly.
Ask for them to texturize your hair for a messier look and if you have thicker hair, this will naturally thin it out.
Take advantage of their expertise and ask them how you should style it based upon your hair length, hair type, face shape, time and product budget.
Styling a Disconnected Undercut
Start with wet hair and add a control and volumizing product, also known as a pre-styler that sets the foundation.
Take a brush or comb and blow dry from front to back or to the side and back until your hair is dry.
Use a quarter size amount of a clay wax with a matter finish, texture clay or a pomade and rub all through your hair.
Either use a comb to comb it back for a clean look or use your fingers for a more casual, messy look.

Pompadour Fade Haircuts | Men’s Hairstyles + Haircuts 2017
The pompadour fade is a beautiful combination of two very popular haircuts – the pompadour and fade. While keeping the essential parts of the original style, the modern pompadour fade haircut offers many styling variations. For instance, guys can choose a high, mid or low fade on the sides; and then opt for a skin or razor fade. The taper is key to creating the high-contrast look.
Similarly, the men’s pompadour can be styled on top in different ways. For example, you can style a pompadour messy or neat, textured or slick, and combine it with a comb over or hard part. Ultimately, a faded pomp is versatile enough that you can transform your medium length or long hair into a number of other cool men’s hairstyles.
Check out these awesome pompadour fade haircuts for ideas on how to cut and style your next cut!
Razor Faded Pompadour
The razor fade is one of the most popular ways to wear a pompadour in 2017. Because the cut is clean and very short, guys find it easier to style. Plus, the shaved sides highlight the longer hair on top.
Low Fade Pompadour
Although this pomp offers a lot of height, the low taper fade on the sides makes it a more conservative look.
High Fade Pompadour + Hard Part
The hard part continues to pop up as one of the year’s hottest hair trends. The high fade and line up make for a fresh look, while the parted pompadour creates a stylish aesthetic.
Skin Fade Pompadour
The skin fade remains an awesome way to cut your hair on the sides. Because of this super short cut and the contrast it creates, people’s eyes automatically jump to the nice textured style of this neat pomp.
Messy Pompadour
The messy pomp makes for a rebellious version of this classic hairstyle. Textured and flowing, you can’t deny this pompadour haircut screams sexy and stylish with minimal effort!
Modern Pompadour Fade
This modern pompadour features a unique twist to the classic style. With a bald fade, hair design, and faded beard, all guys should try this trendy haircut!
Mid Fade Pompadour
This short pomp combines with a mid fade and beard for a look you just can’t go wrong with.
Pompadour Comb Over Fade
This example integrates two very popular hairstyles – the pomp and comb over, allowing guys to style a variety of cool cuts!
Razor Fade Pompadour
The razor fade makes for a hot addition to any pomp. Because shaved sides are more of a modern thing, this example offers a balance between classic and new.
Pomp Fade + Hard Part Comb Over + Full Beard
The comb over pomp provides a cool twist to a retro hairstyle. Guys with thick, straight hair are encouraged to try styling this look.
Messy Pompadour Taper
Not all pomp fades need to be extremely short on the sides. A classic taper works just as well, and this one features a messy textured pomp with height!
Thick Modern Pompadour + Undercut Fade
The beauty of the pompadour is that it styles great with any type of short sides, including an faded undercut. This version of the look adds in a bit of a slick back for a unique touch.
Mid Skin Fade Pompadour + Beard
The mid skin fade has been growing in popularity as a sweet medium between high and low fades.
Wavy Pompadour + High Fade + Beard
If you have curly hair and didn’t think you could style a pomp, think again! A wavy pompadour fade can be achieved with some strong pomade and a blow dryer.
Pomp Comb Over + Low Skin Fade + Beard
This low skin fade and hard part comb over add a distinct look that will make any guy stand out in a crowd!
Spiky Pomp + Skin Fade + Line Up
The spiky pompadour is a new variation you don’t see often, but should. We’d love to see more guys try this version!
Textured Pomp + High Fade
Textured hairstyles have been all the rage in 2017, and this is the perfect example why. For a more natural finish, try a matte pomade!
High Bald Fade + Shape Up + Slick Pompadour
A shape up is an excellent way to clean up your hairline while emphasizing your hair on top.
Back and Neckline of Pomp Haircut
Since most pictures focus on the front and sides of a pompadour haircut, we figured it made sense to give you a back and neckline view. This low skin drop fade blends perfectly into the neck.
