Heyo! Here’s my November piece for @gfhunklescalendar! Plus the front and back covers, and the small extra picture that shows up on the grid!

I had a lot of fun with this one, sort of challenged myself with it as well. Took forever to figure out how to get the water to look right, but I’m really happy with how it turned out! Doing the calendar with everyone was a total blast!!

This is random as hell, but I really miss the month or so after Lost Legends and the box set came out.

As someone who didn’t get into Gravity Falls until after the show itself, and the Cipher Hunt, and the release of Journal 3 were over, that July was the highlight of my time in the fandom. It wasn’t just because of the new content itself - people were figuring out codes and posting them as they solved them, my dash was flooded with new fanart, and there was so much amazing discussion everywhere. People were writing meta, making new theories, assessing how old theories held up to new evidence… it felt like a glimpse into what the fandom had been like during the show’s run, like a glimpse into what I’d arrived to the fandom too late for.

But this time, I got to take part in it, and for that reason I’m so grateful to Hirsch and everyone else involved for releasing all this extra material. I’m just a little sad and nostalgic that the fandom might never come alive like that again, and that even if it does and there’s more content to be seen, there’s still going to be a finite amount of times like this, when we all get decode ciphers and make theories and freak out over new stories together.

Though I guess that just makes the magic of Gravity Falls stronger, in a way. Even if I could, I don’t think I’d change things.

Secret Santa piece for @rivvydarling in the @gravityfallssecretsanta exchange of 2016!  (click to embiggen)

The request was for a Mabel focus, and additionally, the grunks bonding with the niblings!  I love all of that too, and I love winter! :D  So here’s a family stroll in the winter woods around Gravity Falls, encountering some cryptids; mainly a scampfire and its little scampfirelings (and a surprise guest).  Mabel has come prepared with marshmallows!
