Ēostre or Ostara is a Pagan Goddess of the Dawn and the bringer of Spring. Her name means “to shine like a star.” She oversees the fertility of the earth. Her symbols include eggs, rabbits, flowers and seeds. As the story goes, Ostara was late bringing spring one year. As her energy swooped across the land, she came upon a little bird whose wings had been frozen in the snow. Filled with compassion for him since he could no longer fly, she turned him into a snow hare and gave him the gift of incredible speed, to flee from the hunters. I had an unexpected visitation from the Goddess last night in my “dream.”. I call “her” the Goddess because the energy was Divinely Feminine in the presence before me. I was making amends with my past. Loving unconditionally and forgiving every single event, person, my Self and especially the collective Heart. I was on my knees and crying as memories streamed across my cheeks and I let go. The Goddess said to me, “You care for all these Beings don’t you?” She wasn’t asking me. She was confirming with me. I said without words “Yes. I love them all so much.” With a quiet power, She lovingly responded, “Send your medicine to the moon.” It was the most potent response I have ever heard in my heart. I rose up and looked toward the full moon and realized my love was my medicine, my power. And it was time to shine it to all who needed the Divine power of grace and love in their lives.
