Candy Cadet’s Story and the Fruity Maze Girl

While making my previous post, as mentioned in the tags, I remembered I also had a file dump full of images from FNaF 6. I hadn’t checked it yet, so I figured “why not” and went into it, mainly looking for the Fruity Maze girl images. And…some things began to fall into place.

This is a screenshot of the FNaF 6 file dump. Originally this post was gonna be something different, and this image was take to show that the cat’s mouth moves in the 3rd phase of Fruity Maze. Then I started thinking.

Why cats??? Why does the sight of a damaged cat make the girl get distressed? Where else have we heard about CATS? And what’s with that…box…that appears in the 3rd phase as well?

Then I remembered: Candy Cadet’s story.

“Now I will tell you a story about a little boy. He had a red snake that he kept in a metal cage, whose hunger could not be satisfied. One day the boy found five baby kittens outside his house. He brought them inside and kept them in a shoebox. He knew that the snake might kill them, but could not bring himself to get rid of the snake. He knew that if he chose one kitten to feed to the snake, it might be satisfied, but he could not choose. So, he went to bed, leaving the cage open. The snake went to the shoebox, chose a kitten at random, and ate it. After five nights had gone by, the boy was full of regret, and cut the snake open. He pieced the remains together and put the kitten back into the shoebox.”

Candy Cadet is referencing to events of Fruity Maze.

That’s why there’s a smiling cat. It’s a kitten. A hurt but blissfully unaware kitten. And that’s why there’s a box. It’s a shoebox. THE shoebox. The one that holds 5 kittens. But again, why is the girl getting distressed? And where’s the snake?

Well we might have already seen and heard this snake. I remembered this line ever since I heard it because it sounded so weird:

How can I resist a promise such as this?

Named “HowcanIresist.mp3″ but titled “SpringTrap Line 6 - Take 2″ from the game files, this is one of Springtrap’s lines he speaks when he’s nearby. And I stuck with me so much because he holds the ‘S’s. Every. Fucking. S. And I always thought "He sounds like a snake…Why does he sound like a snake?” And when you listen to some of his lines again, he holds his ‘S’s quite a bit. Maybe not as obvious and long as he does with “How can I resist”, but you notice the ‘S’s. Like with the “Deceptive” line. And I don’t think that was on accident.

And during Fruity Maze’s phase 3, where there’s a dead but somehow still alive kitten, a shoebox, and flowers, who makes a surprise appearance behind the crying girl?

Everyone’s favorite murderous rabbit, Springtrap. With the imagery in the minigame, William Afton’s speech pattern, and the fact that he’s looming over a child in a seemingly dark room, I think it’s clear who the red snake from Candy Cadet’s story is. And the kitten he chose? Considering he’s looming over this girl whose description happens to match that of the thoroughly eviscerated kitten (blonde hair, blue eyes; yellow fur, blue eyes), I’m sure we know the kitten too.

As for who the little boy is and the significance of the shoebox, that I don’t know. I do know that Candy Cadet’s stories all show a constant pattern of 5 things being killed and 5 things becoming 1. So the ‘snake’ most likely killed all 5 because he wasn’t satisfied with one and the boy pieced them all back together to create one kitten. But what in FNaF used to be 5 people that became one? Ennard was a Afton creation and is made up of 4 animatronics, so they wouldn’t work. Especially since he didn’t kill his own daughter Elizabeth. Baby killed Elizabeth. So what used to be 5 and is now one…?

Candy Cadet's Kitten Story Corresponds to the Bitten Child Being Broken + the Box

So I think most people understand the correlation between Candy Cadet’s story about the coffins and Ennard - a man (William) had his 5 kids killed (Elizebeth is broken), so he stitches them into 1 (Ennard). The knock at the door implies that the kid(s) have come back, just like Ennard.

Now I’m still pondering over the key story (I think it has something to do with the Brother and FNAF 1/Golden Freddy), but I do know one thing that I don’t think any else has caught on to: The kitten story is what happened to the Bitten Child.

The boy (Brother) had a pet snake (Fredbear). He finds 5 kittens (the Bitten Child’s pieces). He keeps the kittens around the snake knowing the snake will kill one of them them (the Bite of ‘83). Five nights pass (FNAF 4 gameplay - or maybe FNAF 1, as it seems to deal with the Brother’s guilt). The boy than pieces the remains of the dead kitten together into one.

Elizabeth was possessing multiple animatronics, and she fused them into one. The Bitten Child has his plushies - which fade away, one by one, as he dies. The Nightmares correspond to the Bully’s behaviors, as if something controlling them knows about how the Bitten Child was treated. N. Fredbear and Nightmare aren’t on the map, yet they can still kill you and they have the laugh of a small child.

The Bitten Child was controlling the main 4 Nightmares like Elizebeth controlled the Funtimes - N. Fredbear is the fused result. And at the end, you get… a box.

Or, to put things more succinctly:

The boy was full of regret, and he cut the snake open. He pieced the remains together.

You’re broken. I will put you back together.

He put the kitten back into the shoebox.

What’s in the box? It’s all of the pieces put together.

It’s only now that i understand the depth of the depravity of this… creature, this monster, that I unwillingly helped to create. As if what he had already done wasn’t enough, he found a new way to desecrate, to humiliate, to destroy. 

As if the suffering wasn’t enough, the loss of innocence, the lost of everything, to so many people. Small souls trapped in prisons of my making, now set to new purpose, and used in ways I’d never thought imaginable. He lured them all back, back to a familiar place, back with familiar tricks. He brought them all together. Are they still… aware? I hope not. It keeps me awake at night.

I could make myself… ‘sleep’, but not yet. Not until I undo what he has done, and heal this wound. A wound first inflicted on me, but then one I let.. bleed out, to cause all of this. He set some kind of trap. I don’t know what it was, but he led them there, again. He overpowered them, again. And he robbed him of the only thing they had, again. I don’t know how those tiny breaths of life came to inhabit those machines, but they will never find rest now, not like this. 

I have to call them all back. Together. In one place.
