omg poor pete 😭😭😭 this whole time i was so confused about where the knife was that i just believed pete when he kept insisting it was his fault 💔 like i thought he got a hold of the knife somehow and since it always hits its target and he wanted her dead so bad it hit her. i’m sorry pete I should’ve known it would have been something like this

hiiii I love this series so much and can’t wait for the rest of the finale so I just completed a total reread of EVERYTHING. and getting through the folie bit reminded me that i never totally understood how lauren died?? maybe i’m missing something but i keep rereading the passage and i don’t totally understand where the knife is or where it goes or how the lightning striking it kills lauren. i feel like this is such a big thing that I must be misunderstanding or not comprehending something but i’m finally admitting my shame and asking you lol. and of course love the series hope progress on the finale is going well!!!

re: Lauren -- having reread this I think you're valid, this is worded a little confusingly. So what I had in mind was this:

overwhelmed with emotion, Pete conjures a lightning strike

Not Patrick is running for Pete, ostensibly to do damage

Patrick panics, goes to stop the egrigor, knife flies out of his hand when he stumbles

lightning hits the knife due to metal conductivity

electrified knife kills lauren

(bonus) Pete decides it's his fault forever because he did want lauren dead even if it was a looney tunes series of events

this is DELIGHTFUL news i'm glad you're enjoying it so far!!! I also love gtting people into shit through fanfiction -- I got into bandom in the first place because my buddy sent me a panic at the disco fanfiction before I listened to any of these bands, so I'm so happy to carry on the grand tradition.

i assume you won’t get to this with the apocalypse taking the forefront and everything but I was rereading bits of older chapters and notpatrick seems to take a similar interest in pete that notpete has in patrick but has obviously never had the same opportunity to act on it. I know the whole plan is to torture pete through his loved ones because he’d feel better if he was suffering in the place of patrick, but the egrigors kind of have desires outside of their “mission” so I was wondering if anything was ever going to come of that? or if we’ll ever see notpatrick and pete interact for longer than a couple sentences at a time? i’m just generally really into the weird dynamics between the egrigors and the band, obviously excited for whatever’s next regardless! can’t wait for the finale!

I would love to put something ominous here but to be honest, I'm not sure how far their dynamic will go. I have definitely thought about what you're saying -- and you're correct, Not Patrick definitely wants the kind of extended time with Pete that Not Pete has had with Patrick outside of their "mission" as it were.

I definitely have plans to explore more stuff with the egrigors, but I haven't got all the details hammered out yet. So I guess... we'll both have to wait and see!

Omniscient: Chapter 13

“Hey kid,” Ryan called out the window. “Need a ride?” Brendon jumped a foot in the air, then brightened immediately when he saw Ryan. Ryan’s heart thudded unevenly in his chest. He did that. He made Brendon’s whole face split into a smile. “I actually do?” Brendon said. “My bike has a flat-” “I know,” Ryan said. He tapped his temple pointedly. “Put your bike in the back. How late can you be out?” “It should take me an hour to walk back,” Brendon said.  “You ever had a flat before?” “Not recently, why?” “Call it two hours, your parents’ll never know,” Ryan said. Brendon only looked a little scandalized, which Ryan took as a good sign. He had to be a little rebellious, Ryan guessed. He had, after all, joined a rock band with a couple of heathen Catholics.

the last chapter was so crazy and i’m so glad things are picking up!! still filled with dread every time there’s a new chapter and still no closer to having any idea what that “major character death” tag is all about. I know we got extensive discussion of future deaths in this chapter but I feel like it wasn’t the true answer (or maybe it was and that’s also troubling…) anyway so excited for more whenever that may be!!!

on the bright side, my original plan for the season was way more stressful, lol. There's definitely still reveals to come this season, so stay tuned and, you know, try not to hate me when new chapters drop.

I really enjoyed the latest chapter! You do a wonderful job of like setting everything up, whilst building tension and still keeping it high paced!

I super enjoyed Pete's power being electric, not lightening in particular!!!

I also loved the scene with not!fob Vs fob with poor MCR in the middle!
