Okay so I saw Thunderbolt* last night (first of all I loved the movie), but I was a bit in shock about Bucky having an argument with Sam over woh the real Avengers are?

I think that they actually did not fight over this topic but made a deal that the Thunderbolts/New Avengers will be the Media or Government Avengers. They have a lot of pro like using technology of the government and getting intel over who the new big bad is.

Sam on the other hand will lead the “regular Avengers”. They can freely choose what’s their next mission will be. And with the Thunderbolts in the center of media attention the bad guys maybe won’t notice them that quickly.

Sam and Bucky will be in contact to discuss information the collect and if one of the teams need back up they can always fusion to a big Avengers Team.

‘Cause let’s be serious I don’t think Bucky would wear his hair THIS styled if it wasn’t for a greater plan behind all of this. And Sam and Bucky are both part of the old Avengers. They wouldn’t fight over which team is allowed to call themselves Avengers.

also just him helping everyone getting out of the elevator shaft, him staying with Yelena and waiting for her to do their plan and he didn’t leave even when she didn’t show up when he expected her to, and him pulling hurt Ava behind him after she fell on the trunk of the car after the cars chasing them used sound machines, and him jumping in to shield Bucky from bullets AND carrying him out of the building — John says a lot with his bravado, this is facade he puts up, but when you look at the little actions he does, you can see that he genuinely cares about people.

Oooo, that's a really good take. I like that part where maybe the reason why their conversation doesn't go well is because Bucky might be holding on to the plan they are scheming because he doesn't wanna burden Sam.

By the way, I kinda took the narrative of Bucky's apprehension (Yelena, John, Alexei, Ava, and Bob might be included, I'm not sure but mainly Bucky) with Val and Government through the pattern on how he reacts to the Government. He wasn't just gonna enter Congress just to pull some shitty joke on his character arc but because his experience as a Winter Soldier gives him a one of a kind knowledge on how the Government works its core. He knows that deep inside that the Government is far rotten than what the ordinary people or even people who had experience with government being rotten but not the same experience with Bucky expect to be.

Remember that in Iron Man 2, Senator Stern is fricking part of Hydra. And maybe, maybe there's more dark shit going on that wasn't in the light yet. He has deep intel, and the conversation in the Gala seems to hint something from the way he operates during his short team as a Congressman. In my speculation, maybe this "New Avengers" is trying to dismantle the rotten core from the inside. They have complicated and unconventional way of responding on a goal they are presented with, so maybe it is also the reason why he didn't fully give it to Sam because their plan might involve something that isn't really legal, structured, ethical or even morally right.

After the second post-credits scene. I have a few points to make when it comes to the "New Avenger" and "Avenger" dispute between the Team that Sam is creating, and Bucky and co. is currently in:

1. I think Sam's problem with the "New Avengers" wasn't only because they are using the name 'Avenger' but because they are basically under government—through Valentina—although we kinda get it that they are ambushed by the media and Yelena even said that they now hold control with Val because of the stunt she pulled. It is just that the whole affair in CA:CW and Brave New World about Super Team being under government puts the "New Avengers" in a tough spot—Remember the Accords? So I get why Sam would be mad.

2. I am also sure that Sam wasn't mad because those who have dark past are now announced as "New Avengers". Sam is not an idiot and he know the dark past of those in the New Avengers—they didn't choose for it to happened. He's just really mad that the government seems to got a hold of them and seems like that they are being monopolize by them.

3. The title of Avengers cannot losely be given by the government just like how they tried doing with the mantle of Captain America. Remember, Avenger wasn't even under the US government when it first started. It was built by Nick Fury when he was a Director of Shield as EARTH'S DEFENDER not AMERICA'S DEFENDER.

4. I think what we hear in the Post-credits is just a teaser about the argument when it comes to the title of Avengers. Sam and Bucky surely will talk about it more just like how they do. I mean—the convo that Bucky seems to be referring in post-credits might just have been a phone call and it might not have not end well because one might be occupied in a situation and they didn't really get to end the conversation because it was cut shortly before they even discuss it further. (I'm just speculating—goshh, I don't want them to fight). Surely, Bucky and Sam's relationship are not that malleable and they are tight knit. I mean aside from FATWS we saw the I Love You in Brave New World, right? Sam surely wasn't angry at Bucky and co. maybe he was just in a pickle because he is now put in between the situation where he needs to handle this complicated situation, just like how Bucky and co. were figuring out how they can handle the difficult situation they are ambushed with. (Also I think the reason why they didn't immediately clarify that they were not being planned as Avengers and Val is a heinous criminal is because they are trying to play the long game and really nail the end of what evil schemes Val might be trying or the Government might be trying. So they continue to play through the act because they might be embodying the "keeps your friends close and your enemies closer" referring to Val and to the government whose trying to use Avengers as one of its opportunistic agenda).

3. Going back to my argument that Avenger is Earth's Defender and it cannot be given loosely. The US Government cannot just issue that they have rebuilt Avengers. Avengers is EARTH'S DEFENDER not AMERICA'S DEFENDER. Fights aren't only happening in New York or only in parts of USA. It's literally all over Earth or even outside the Earth. Avengers are kinda the representative warriors of the world.

Thus, with that I assume that the title 'Avengers' shouldn't be gatekeep. They should have multiple divisions across the Globe—just like in the comics. Heck, there's Asian Avengers in the comics—and even Young Avengers is in the MCU now. So all they really need is to talk it out. They shouldn't fight, the last thing the Earth needs is for its potential protectors to fight each other when huge supervillains are about to knock on Earth's atmosphere.
