I will admit that for years Akita saying “My gratitude for returning 2-BO to its true father” has always intrigued me considering if Akita was referring to himself as 2-BO’s father due to the fact that he invented 2-BO then technically speaking Gyro would definitely be Boyd’s legitimate dad since he not only created Boyd, he cares for him and loves his son for who he is.

So, I'd like to talk about Gyro and Boyd in the episode "Astro B.O.Y.D!"

When I was watching this episode, I noticed a few details that I'd like to talk about.

At the beginning of the episode, when Gyro sees Boyd for the first time, he calls him 'it', as he still has memories of the events in Tokyolk and he still thought that everything that happened there was his fault.

He also calls Boyd 2-BO up to this point, but after the best hug scene, he finally calls him by his first name, acknowledging that Boyd is definitely a real boy.

(Also is cute that after asking "am I real boy?" Gyro replies with "definitely", and then Boyd always repeat his fathers words :³ )

NOW ABOUT AKITA AND HIS LINE!

Akita says "return boyd to his true father". What does this mean? Before that, in the episode Boyd was with Gyro, his co-creator. What does this give us? Hehe *evil laugh*. So he's almost directly referred to Gyro as Boyd's father, which is exactly what we wanted!

I also wrote about this in another post, but the fandom wiki says that Boyd is Gyro's son, and Gyro is his father, and Boyd & Lil Bulb are his only relatives.
