My sympathy for people with internalized phobias honestly ends when those people start doing harm to others like them.
If you join up with a group of people whose sole purpose is discrimination and hatred towards people like you, that sucks that you have that much self hatred, but honestly fuck you too.
This applies to a-spec people who join up with aphobes, this applies to trans people who join up with T(W)ERFs, this applies to NBs who join up with truscum, this applies to m-spec people who join up with monosexists.
Your self hatred is now hurting me and I refuse to fucking tolerate that.

Repurposing cheap Christmas decorations for my dark needs. I can’t decide if it’s better to make them look like this is their authentic, shitty factory paint, or if I should put effort into them.

✨ Chai spells ✨
Now that it’s getting colder I feel like it’s time to post about chai spells!
✨ Basic recipe for chai ✨ - ¾ mug of milk (or milk alternative) - ¼ mug of water - Any tea that goes with milk (so no green or fruit teas) - Sugar or honey to taste
Heat up your milk, water and sweetener, once boiling whisk in your tea. If using black or milk oolong tea then do not exceed 45 seconds of stirring - it seems like a small amount of time but your chai will be bitter if you go over this time! Any tea other than black tea would be alright for a bit longer, but you shouldn’t need much time at all!
Pour the chai through a strainer and serve! Drink this while hot for the best flavour (though it doesn’t taste bad if it gets cold either)
_
For the following spells, use the milk, water and sweetner and then add the tea specified! Feel free to personalise your blends!
✨ Self love chai ✨ - Black tea - Culinary dried rose petals
✨ Protection chai ✨ - Black tea - Cinnamon - Ginger - 2 peppercorns
✨ Banishing chai - Black tea - Basil leaves (chopped) - Ginger
✨ Sleepy time chai ✨ - Culinary lavender - Culinary dried rose petals
✨ Happiness chai ✨ - Black tea - Cinnamon - Orange peel
✨ Confidence chai ✨ - Black tea - Nutmeg - Cinnamon
✨ Divination chai ✨ - Milk oolong tea - Peppermint
✨ Purity chai ✨ - Milk oolong tea - Coconut
✨ Lucky chai ✨ - Black tea - Cardamom - Cinnamon - Clove
_
Happy brewing everyone! Enjoy many cups of magical chai ✨

“to be a witch” falsehoods
there are a lot of misconceptions going around lately on what someone needs to be a witch, i just want to clear some up.
you do not need:
fancy tools - or any tools at all, really. all you need is yourself and your intent. sure, tools that fit your aesthetic are nice, but you don’t need them. if you have the ability to buy and you want to, there’s no stopping you, but please don’t feel like you have to go out and buy yourself an etsy broom or a cauldron. and don’t stress yourself out over making one either! they are but trappings.
appearance - in witchy aesthetic photos, it’s usually a slim, white girl with long hair. and that lack of a more diverse representation can give the impression that you need to look and be a certain way, but please know it is untrue. it does not matter what your race, weight, hair, or anything looks like.
aesthetic - you don’t need to dress “like a witch”. a witch can look like anything. if you want to indulge in the black cat, black clothes look, fine, but you don’t need to confine yourself to it if it’s not your thing, you can look like whatever you want to.
gender - there are some in the community that will fight tooth and nail to make it seem you have to be a cis female to call yourself a witch. don’t listen to those terfs. anyone can be a witch, regardless of gender. male, non-binary, agender, trans, demi, etc.
black cat - you don’t need a black cat. you don’t need to have a familiar either. those are unique relations that should not be forced to happen
dark, mystical attitude - you don’t need to suddenly start talking like chaucer or put effort into having an air of mystery. you don’t need to be holier than thou, or act like you know it all. witchcraft is a journey that takes time to learn.
cursing - no, you don’t need to curse. but you don’t need to shame someone for cursing either.
on a spiritual path - witchcraft does not have to be spiritual! you can practice magic without having to worry about being “spiritual enough”, because each craft is unique and deeply personal, you don’t need to force it to be something that you’re not invested in.
religious - there are many witches that wonder where the power comes from if they don’t call upon a god. the power can come from you. you do not need to devote yourself to a god
wiccan - wicca is not the only way to do witchcraft, it is only one way of practicing magic. there are many people who think the only way to do witchcraft is to be wiccan, but they are misinformed. if you do not want to work with wiccan influences or traditions, you do not have to.
initiated - some practices, some traditions, initiation is needed. however, to be a witch in general, you don’t need to go through any ritual to prove yourself one. be wary of those who insist you do, they are often trying to take advantage of new witches.
straight/cis - some traditions you’ll encounter have homophobic roots/influences. while it is discouraging, you dont have to listen to those, or you can work with others to rework phobic traditions
a “natural” witch - some people will claim to have “witch’s blood” or “the flame”, meaning witchcraft has been in their families for generations. this does not make them superior or more of a witch than you. anyone who wants to be a witch can, no matter their birth circumstances.
labelled - a lot of witches label their craft, “herb witch”, “space witch”, “storm witch” etc. you can be as many as you want, or none if it pleases you. you do not need to label your craft however. some people can’t put their craft in a box.
td;lr, you do need:
to want to be a witch
your intent
that’s it! happy casting!

Faerie 101: how do you start? part 1

How does one start working with fairies? Part 1
For those that may be confused
Faerie 101: Part 1 What are Faeries?
“A fairy (also fay, fae; from faery, faerie, “realm of the fays”) is a type of mythical being or legendary creature in European folklore, a form of spirit, often described as metaphysical, supernatural or preternatural….” -Wiki
There are various fae-like or fairies from different cultures and mythologies all across the world, though the word “faery” originates from Europe.
So you wanna work with fairies! but…how do you begin? I would suggest the following steps
Research (read folklore, personal experiences of others, etc)
learn how to protect yourself
how do you want to work with them? religiously? purely work-based relationship? other?
where?? here or over the fence? (in their lands)
You can learn a lot about fairies from folklore, both historical and modern. Take time to read about them and to get a feel for them.
Some things I suggest learning about
Trooping, Solitary, and Exiled fairies
different kinds of fairies
what fairies like (things that can attract them)
what fairies don’t like (things that can ward them)
how they can act
how they can treat people
what to do and not to do around them
Trooping, Solitary, Exiled?
The trooping fairies contain the aristocracy of the fairy world, including the Irish Aos Sí.[7] They are known as trooping faeries because they travel in long processions, such as the one from which Tam Lin was rescued.[15] But the trooping fairies also include other fairies of lesser importance; a trooping fairy can be large or small, friendly or sinister.[16]-Wiki
Trooping fairies are basically fairies that live within a group. They are the courts, the clans, the communities. They are also known as social fae.
Solitary fairies are basically what they seem to be. Fairies that live alone or in very small groups (usually family groups of around five or under). They live alone or live around people. A lone brownie in your home is an example of a Solitary fae.
The Fairy Queen banishes from Fairyland any fairy who disobeys her orders. Then the exile wanders about alone through the land in search of companions. As the queen’s subjects shun the banished fairy man or woman, he or she must needs make friends with human beings.
-source
These fairies can either be solitary or migrate into a new trooping. They were once apart of a group, but were banished by their rulers.
Planning
Its also a good idea to figure out how you want your relationships to be. How will you treat them? How do you expect to be treated? If you plan on inviting them into your home, you may want to create a “rule list” that will be followed.
It is your domain. The fairies might be a guest, but they should respect your home and land.
You may want to physically make a rule list and place it in your home.
I would also suggest coming up with a “face name” or something different that you use around the fairies. Fairies have many names, so they most likely will not notice if you use a different name around them.
Local, Wandering, Arcadian?
The next step is to figure out if you want to work with fairies in your local area? Travel to see them? A combination?
How I categorize Fae: Part 1 Location
-Local Fae: These fae exist and live on our side of the fence, within our own realm. They willingly (but not always) came to our realm to physically live.
-Wandering/Traveling Fae: Traveling Fae are wanderers. They constantly travel from realm to realm in a nomadic-like lifestyle.
-Arcadian Fae: The fae that exist and live on the other side of the fence, within the faelands. They, on occasion, do travel into our realm, but usually for specific purposes.
Depending on that will help narrow down what you should do.
Next Parts:
part 2- Working with Local Fae
part 3- Working with Arcadian Fae

Earl Grey Shortbread - cookies for prosperity and peace
Here’s a pretty simple recipe for cookies that I make a few times a month for my salon.
1 cup butter (room temp)* 2 loose leaf earl grey tea bags 1 cup confectioners sugar Cream ingredients together until “fluffy” *(if using unsalted butter, add ½ tsp salt. Salted butter: no salt) Add in 2 cups flour little by little until dough forms and fully mixed.
It may be a bit crumbly, but take the dough and press it together, but try not to overwork it.
Split into 2-3 balls and roll into tube shape in a piece of wax or parchment paper and refrigerate for about an hour until firm.
Take out a roll and slice into ½" rounds and put on prepared baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees (Fahrenheit) for about 10 minutes.
When you see a thin golden brown ring around the cookies where they sit on the sheet they’re ready.
To frost, I use confectioners sugar (start out with about ½ cup and add more as needed) and add a little Creme de Violette (Violet liqueur made by Rothman & Winter) and mix until smooth. Should be toothpaste consistency and spread on the cookies.
To clarify, the black tea helps with prosperity, and the bergamot herb has use for drawing out peaceful dispositions. Violets draw out love and happiness. Sugar for sweetening positions and thought processes, and wheat for multiplying and fortifying the other components.
So these cookies are simple to make, delicate in flavor, and make you feel fancy af.

Excellent history fact to remember;
Niccolo Machiavelli and Leonardo Da Vinci, most likely at the behest of the Borgias, once conspired to steal a river.
That’s right folks. They planned to change the course of the Arno River so that they could steal it from Pisa and make Florence accessible by sea.
Please take a moment to imagine that.
Please.

If you feel like bad feelings hang heavy in your home, one solution is a little friend who will soak up that negativity. This squidgy buddy will absorb bad energy like a sponge absorbs water. Make sure to focus on your intent as you make it, and don’t leave it to suck up negativity for too long, or it might start expelling it!
