I just watched all of @poseonfx in two days and it is SO DAMN GOOD. Have you watched it yet?! If not, WHY THE HELL NOT?! This week's #HOMwork was to put a goal or aspiration "out into the universe" with a space-related design! I've been inspired by the awesome online courses by artists like @homsweethom and @amandaarneill to make one specifically for lefties. When you're left handed, calligraphy and brush lettering comes with a big set of challenges. In my 3+ years of doing it, I've figured out lots of tips and tricks, and I want to share them! Can't. Stop. Playing. With the. Symmetry tool... At least I threw a little lettering in this one! 🤣 Swipe for a close-up! I know it's still technically Spring, but it was almost 90° today, so I was in the mood for some summer illustration! I'm not great at drawing, but I do have a little trick: instead of using an actual photo for reference, Google whatever the subject is and "doodle!" One of them was to try something totally different, so I busted out the symmetry tool in @procreate and made a non-lettering piece! I kind of let this go where it took me, and I love the way it came out! I just couldn't decide if I liked the white or black background better... I’ve been pretty open about going alcohol-free, and today I’m celebrating a whole damn year of it! 🎉🎉🎉 ... A year ago, I realized I was headed down a slippery slope. One or two drinks was never enough for me, and I didn’t see the point of drinking at all if I wasn’t gonna get drunk. I realized that if I spent a few more years on this path, that I could potentially be in a very scary place. Fast forward to today, and being alcohol-free has had literally ZERO negative effects! The thing I was most worried about — socializing while sober — was difficult at first, but it pushed me in a good way. No more using alcohol as a crutch to be a better, funnier, bubblier version of myself! Plus, fun non-alcoholic drinks taste waaaay better than a beer (I’m looking at you, @bigjerksoda)! ... I wanna hear from my sober comrades! What are you struggling with? What are you celebrating?
