thing is you guys are taking what winter said way out of proportion?? i mean it is obvious she just meant that korean pop should be a korean-dominated industry because it is korean pop LOL,, of course kpop takes influence from black culture OF COURSE like it is so obvious but winter just said that from her side as an asian person, she acknowledges the racism perpetrated by other people and views the korean industry as a way to see these talents flourish
i mean even now, i see so many amazing korean movies be made; better than western ones, but they are put down because "they dont speak the same language as us" now how is THAT fair
it's the same with bollywood
only difference with america and uk for example is that (a) america is a country based on immigrants (b) uk is increasingly multicultural therefore immigrants being famous isnt unheard of
but even THEN, asians (and black people) are always put down, even if theyre more talented bcos theyre not "pure" or whatever bs these racists spew
korea is largely homogenous, with a racism problem a huge one in fact and i cant deny that, but all winter is saying is that it is natural for only asian people to be in an asian industry
same with desi people being in bollywood
people have different avenues to succeed, it's just wise to look at all perspectives before making a judgment call and essentially labelling someone as a racist
nonetheless no one is stop anyone from being an idol, are there better avenues for you succeed if youre non-asian? yes of course, no doubt but it is your life and nothing anyone says can deter you from it
there also of course needs to be a serious discussion about cultural appropriation in CURRENT kpop ofc seo taiji and boys took influence from hip hop culture but 2000s kpop was hyperpop
anyways, i just wanted to let everyone know that their opinion is valid because ofc it is! but wanted to highlight that winter is NOT racist nor is @theit-girl111 because they never put down another race, thats all!
if you disagree or feel that im misinformed about something, let me know!
EXACTLY TYSM BAE

Yes dw some anons said I had anti-blackness, does that mean i hate my own family or some?

One thing I always didn’t like about the community is how many non-Asians clearly fetishize East Asians and always want to be idols when they have no ties to any of it what so ever? Like you said it’s because it’s trendy, as if other countries don’t have musical acts, solos, groups, hip hop dancers, etc. I also don’t like when people pretend that k-pop is the only industry or country that makes music inspired/copied/appropriating off of black Americans. Because yes, it is true that black people started majority of genres but let’s not pretend that the Korean industry is the only one who copied it
Thx u. I admit black culture is really stereotyped & used in kpop and its kinda weird to see asians with box braids misusing aave in their songs.

Bro this whole race thing is getting so tiring. Like why do y’all care? Oh right bc you’re a potential racist but doesn’t wanna seem racist. Just stop with it all bro. Asians are asians, mixed asians are asians (and I’m not talking about no 1%), other races born in Asia are not Asian racially but nationality wise they are. Stop fetishizing it, y’all will never experience the hate and racism they do, so stop cause it’s honestly demeaning reducing them to the “glamour” and what’s worse is that if kpop and asian entertainment and culture are no longer “trendy” y’all wouldn’t want to be Asian anymore.
Sorry to sound so mean but I’m sick of it and I’m not even an loa blogger. But anyways, on a lighter note: Hey bae <3 what is your dream vacation? (Sorry if it’s so sudden, but I’m just tryna change topics 💀)
FINALLY!!! You wanna be included bc its trendy not bc its korean or pop. Just bc its trendy & popular.
Probably Hawai or Guadalupe since i have family over there!

I totally agree with what you said about Asian pop staying Asian. I’m Korean and seeing people (especially white people 😭 sorry Not sorry) wanting to become kpop idols is so weird to me,,, kpop is Korean pop not western pop and music is a big part of our culture. I just don’t want kpop to be colonized or westernized
Umm I understand, I also saw some experimental groups with white idols and it was... uncommon ig ?

hi i love your acc & your takes 💕💕 I’m not any of your previous anons but I’m curious- what do you think of poc in Kpop. Specifically black & Indian girls?? i don’t mean any disrespect but I’m genuinely curious to hear your opinion :) please don’t be offended!!! 🥺🥺🥺 I also sent this ask to winterscoquette bc you’re the only two who are in the industry
Black ppl obviously can be in the industry if they are korean or from any asian country (ex : blasians)! & indian ppl can be in the industry as well since they are asian & from asia. What I mean is ppl that literally aren't asian can't be part of the industry since this isn't for them.

this anon has it all wrong. what people mean when they say non asians should not be in kpop has to do with their race (how they appear physically to people) even if you someone was white and born in korea with white parents that were also born in korea DOES NOT make them asian RACIALLY, they’re nationality would be korean but their race would be white. being born in an asian country does not make you asian racially if you identify as another race.
i am black but i could be born in japan for instance, racially i am not asian but my nationality says i’m japanese
race does not equal nationality or ethnicity
i really wish people would stop justifying the whole change of race thing. respect asian people and they’re culture and just respect kpop as a whole and accept that it was made as a way for asians to share their arts and talents. appreciate kpop as your own race PLEASE!
Agreed. Finally someone that get it.

Can y'all literally fucking stop? Someone asked me for my opinion, this isn't a debate. Stop trying to force your opinion on me. If you are gonna say weird shit ( calling me names, racist , calling me slurs & literally harassing me with the same ask) in my asks at leats show yourself & don't go anonymous ☠️. This is why los bloggers close their asks & delete their blogs.
