So writers joke a lot about "drinking the tears of our readers", but I want to be so honest with you when I tell you that making you cry isn't our real goal. Making you feel is.

may I ask why you don’t support the HTTYD live action? (i’m not trying to be mean, i’m genuinely curious)

Of course!

Because supporting this slop will convince more and more studios who were founded on animation- to keep making these live action remakes instead of the original content they were known for. They only care about money at the end of the day, dear.

I will admit I love the Disney live action remake of the Jungle Book! (Not the Netflix one; I didn’t like it as much.)

But that was made and released before this trend started, and it really is the only one I like. Besides the Alice in Wonderland ones, maybe…?

Either way, I refuse to support the current ones. Lilo and Stitch, Httyd… no.

The original movies are beloved gems to me, and I really do need to rewatch both soon.

They’re being desecrated by the fans who are supporting the live action remakes. And the studios are counting on this, counting on people to be gullible and nostalgic and easy to please. It’s just…

I hate it.
