Clay Moorington is implied to be autistic, and I'm actually analysing it?!

Okay, first I want to mention the fact he's canonically attached to the knights code. I mean the whole episode of him being that attached to it, that it completely hurt him when the book blew up during the nexo power scan to get it into Merlok's systems. It's also canon he keeps the book close to him majority of the time, almost as if he has the obligation to make sure it's there.

Clay's VERY schedule driven, he got slightly annoyed at Macy for being 2 minutes late to the practice coordination drills. (If I remember correctly), and also sticks to schedules even when he's NOT practicing or training. (When he stuck to "relaxing" in knight out, and still ended up NOT doing that..) I mean he's more than just schedule driven.

I'm just saying, he's VERY fixated on the knights code. (And also incredibly fixated on his position as a knight, dedication is something he takes seriously.. to the point that if he fails he'll just break down in a way, and completely feel as if he's done something wrong.)

(also there's the scene from ep 27 when he starts infodumping about art, but that was probably to piss Lance off to some degree.)

There's no reason they would just imply clay as autistic like this, realistically it was intentionally implied that seemed to be something that the show and the fandom can see.

I could totally write Nexo Knights fanfiction, these fuckers are so easy to write dialogue for. Unfortunately all my ideas are for shitty crackfics that no one would find funny but me.

Clay moorington makes me so unwell, because there’s something about him that’s genuinely interesting, and I think it’s the way he and grey don’t see each other as the same being.

It’s as if in the time Grey is the active.. source? Host? whatever it is, it’s them being in control of the body that was zapped to life by Monstrox, they’re the one in control and also remind the knights that they AREN’T clay.

maybe I’m overthinking something, but the thought of Clay being completely dormant in a way, especially with Grey being in control of the body is something that is definitely really interesting. Fuck I don’t even think Clay MENTIONS grey after he breaks off from the magic stasis, but there’s no way grey is just gone.

Also it’s really interesting how Clay and Grey don’t even see eachother as the same being, more of separate beings who are more or less in the same body. Especially with Clay saying “It’s a grey knight thing” and Grey saying “I am no longer the one you call Clay.”

They’re seperate people, they have their own personalities and traits. Clay is this heartwarming rule follower, he does the right thing and he tries his hardest for the team.

Grey ISN’T they’re more cold, and distant. They have no attributes to Clay, (other then being a complete corn ball..) ..

(Maybe I’m overthinking this.. somebody keep them away from me..)

I’m going to stop here, because I am a professional waffler and sometimes cannot contain what I say..

Either way, they are the ultimate corn balls.. (yes I know technically it’s Clay with a mustache, but please.. I think it looks funny..)

The Grey/Clay analysis (Except I am still professionally waffling)

I said last time about Clay and Grey, especially with the difference in their personalities, because of one reason. They’re separate beings, they’re going to have separate personalities.

Grey is known for being impulsive and rushing into things. (While I don’t know if people would agree with me when I say stranger in the halps, that’s what we’re going with.) They want to rush into things, and immediately get things done (ie; destroying of the stone army, and going a little over the top?)

Clay is the opposite, (in terms of he’s slightly impulsive but not a lot), he follows a schedule because thats how he rolls. (The knights code is potentially my best reference for this) He’s VERY schedule driven, and not as fond of rushing into things.

They both have very different takes on the knights code, Clay is very VERY driven by it. Grey realistically doesn’t give two shits about it, yet seemed to be pushed away from controlling clays body when it was mentioned?

I know this isn’t a TON, but if you understand my waffling, I could definitely do more (rewrite my other analysis’ about him..)

Nexo Knights but their hair changes color when they power up In this version Macy would have the same hair color as her dad and she'd get that supercool red ponytail when she powers up. I just think they should all have cool hair (like macy)

Although it is in some ways more episodic and comedic than the other two well-known CGI-animated LEGO shows, Nexo Knights is surprisingly good at making it’s characters both comedic and archetypical… yet also quite complex. Among these characters, Lance Richmond is one seemingly shallow and flat character, but quite complex and interesting if you really analyze his characterization, behavior, and background … which is exactly what I’m going to do.

First of all, he’s a survivor of abuse - and not that different from Jestro.
