have been playing red dead redemption 2 and i'm enjoying the story and characters so far but unfortunately the mechanics are so tedious and unintuitive i keep getting annoyed with them to the point of just quitting the game

#it's especially jarring because the last game i played was witcher 3 which despite all its faults is a game that is actually Fun To Play

halfway through my second tw3 playthrough and think i've finally settled on my personal Feelings about it which are overall i enjoyed it and will almost certainly play it again HOWEVER. it really does feel like Misogyny: The Game a lot of the time

#and i knew this was what i was getting myself into but it was somehow more egregious than i expected lol #but there was just enough there outside of it that i still had fun and am cautiously excited for tw4 #because i did deeply love yennefer and ciri despite the criticisms i have re: their writing and character design #and i'm also desperately curious to see what a witcher game with a female protagonist made in the mid-late 2020s looks like
