( Over the past week, I've been playing the countless hours of fun that is Assassin's Creed (1). Honestly, it is a super fun game with a horrible combat system for the harder 'boss' battles.

Still though, after (basically) finishing it (I sort of gave up and just watched the youtube walkthrough of Richard because jfkdsjagkasjgklsjakldhjaskj hard), I found it really enjoyable and I recommend it.

However, one thing stayed with me. 

And will stay with me for a long time to come.

Because goddamn, Altair/Malik is just.... so practially canon it SCREAMS homosexual undertones. I ship it. I ship it so hard. )

"My lady," Aragorn bowed his head respectfully to the Lady Arwen and smiled longingly to her. "How do you fare this day?"

A wide smile bloomed upon the maiden’s lips and with a graceful step, she curtsied just as formally in return. In green silks, the Lady rose to stand closer to her beloved. Her hand rested upon his strong shoulder while the other met his cheek - his beard tickling her palm and fingers.

"More better than throughout the whole of the day now that you stand here with me." Arwen replied, pressing a soft kiss to his warm lips. "How of yourself? I trust it was not too busy?"

Random suggestion for LotR/Hobbit/Silmarillion roleplayers and writers. Do not use “okay/ok” in your sentences. "Okay" is a colloquialism, the etymology is not certain but it most probably derives from the abbreviation of a misspelling ("oll korrect")....

Middle Earth History Meme:  {1/3} Elves:  Aredhel

Aredhel Ar-Feiniel, the White Lady of the Noldor, was the daughter of the High King Fingolfin.  Her skin was pale, though her hair was dark, and she was always arrayed in silver and white.  After two hundred years of dwelling in the hidden city of Gondolin, she desired to see the forests and open lands and left the city walls.  Wandering through the forest of Nan Emloth, she met Eöl the Dark Elf.

Partly of her own will, but partly from his enchantments, Aredhel married the Dark Elf and had a son, Maeglin.  Eöl would not allow her to leave the forest, but after many years, she escaped with her son and fled back to Gondolin.  Without them knowing, Eöl followed them into the city.  When the King of Gondolin, Aredhel’s brother, would not allow any to leave the city again, Eöl threw a poisoned javelin at Maeglin to kill him before he could ally with his mother’s kin.  But at the last moment, Aredhel stepped in front of the dart, and died in the middle of that same night.

People ask me if there are going to be stories of Harry Potter as an adult. Frankly, if I wanted to, I could keep writing stories until Harry is a senior citizen, but I don’t know how many people would actually want to read about a 65 year old Harry still at Hogwarts playing bingo with Ron and Hermione.

So I learn that Peter Jackson decided to bring Maeglin back in the LOTR films as a sort of looming presence for all the concocted romance he crafted.

Shockingly I had missed Maeglin’s appearances in my previous innumerable viewings of the films. You probably did too.

The way I look at it, if you’re going to cut out Bombadil and Glorfindel and give us six hours of Liv Tyler pouting intermittently why not bring Maeglin back from the Halls of Mandos?

So I go in for another look and sure enough. Look closely at the screen-caps above and prepare to have your mind blown.

Oh yeah, he also made a cameo in “Ghost”.
