The voice spoke again.

"You chose wisely. Now, take off the blindfold"

When Jude finally recovered his sight, the last thing he expected was to see those sims standing in front of him.

He stayed there, paralized from the shock, while the others cheered loudly.

Jude: what the hell...

"Jude Legacy, welcome to the Order of Enchantment"

In the middle of the congratulations, Jude only had eyes for two sims, who were staring back at him, waiting for him to say something.

Well, Jude thought, Luzía and Apollo had a lot of explaining to do.

Jude waited for something to happen, thinking about how heartbroken his poor mother was going to be when she heard about his death.

"Jude Legacy, the sprites have accepted your delicious offering"

Jude: my offering... the cookies!? What are you talking about!?

"The sprites believe you are worthy of joining the Order of Enchantment and that is why you are here tonight"

Wait. The Order of Enchantment? Was that the name of the Secret Society?

And a tray of cookies was all it took?

Jude would have laughed from the absurdity of the situation if he wasn't fearing for his life.

"Jude Legacy, do you accept to join the Order, fulfill your duties as a member, honor the sprites and keep the secret until the end of your days?"

Jude: wait a second, I-

"Speak, now"

Jude wanted to scream. How was he going to accept just like that!? Those people were insane!

But then, the figure by his side moved closer to him and whispered into his ear.

Apollo: Jude, just accept, it's ok...

That voice... the familiarity of it made Jude calm down instantly.

Jude: fine. I accept

A distorted voice spoke and that made Jude stop screaming.

"Jude Legacy, the time has come"

Jude: oh my Watcher, are you going to kill me!?

"Kneel"

Jude: fuck no! I am not going to be executed!

But a hand reached around his nape and forced him down, so he couldn't help but obey, trembling like a leaf.

Apollo knelt beside him and Dorian, who was having the time of his life (Initiation nights had always been his favourite), walked to stand beside the others.

Somewhere under the UBrite buildings...

Jude: let me go! I don't want to die, I still haven't written my best-seller! Please!

Another hooded sim had joined the first one and they were dragging Jude through the catacombs, trying to ignore his screams.

Soon they would arrive to their destination and they would stop hearing the pleas he had not stopped shouting the whole way.

Jude: you will pay for this! You have no idea who am I, you bandits!

Dorian, whispering so Jude couldn't hear him, looked at Apollo in annoyance.

Dorian: so noisy... we should have gagged him

Apollo: shut up

Finally, they opened the door and entered a room where another three figures were waiting.

The Initiation could finally start.

A hand over his mouth muffled Jude's scream and he could only kick his legs desperately, trying to free himself from the hooded figure's hold.

Hooded guy: ssssh... be a good boy and don't scream...

Before he could even think about using his vampire abilities, Jude and the hooded sim disappeared in the shadows.

The hooded figure smiled and started walking.

A whispering sound interrupted the silence and Jude stopped, realizing he had not crossed paths with a single sim in a long time.

A shiver ran down his spine; something was not right.

Unfortunately, he didn't have time to do anything about his bad feeling.

The next night, Jude was studying at the Darby's Den library, because some people at the dorm were throwing a party and he couldn't concentrate with the loud music.

But his concentration was broken when a message popped up on his screen.

"𝔗𝔥𝔢 𝔞𝔫𝔰𝔴𝔢𝔯 𝔶𝔬𝔲 𝔞𝔯𝔢 𝔩𝔬𝔬𝔨𝔦𝔫𝔤 𝔣𝔬𝔯 𝔦𝔰 𝔦𝔫𝔰𝔦𝔡𝔢 𝔱𝔥𝔢 𝔠𝔦𝔯𝔠𝔩𝔢"

Jude: ... what???

Jude spent some minutes trying to make sense of the strange message, when suddenly he realized what it meant.

The circle at Gibbs Hill where he stumbled upon those weirdos with the capes!

Without stopping to think who had sent the message or what they wanted him to do there, Jude got up.

He could have spent some time asking himself some questions and suspecting about how weird everything was, but Jude only had one thing in mind:

He was going to get to the bottom of that mystery, and he was going to do it tonight.

So, under the dark night sky, Jude took the path towards Gibbs Hill.

Thankfully, Apollo had given him some grace and spent the nights in Luzía's room, so Jude had the room to himself most times and was able to avoid being in the other's presence.

Jude also got a lot of calls from his family those days, specially from Ciri, who was not taking well being away from her children since Jamie left.

(Go away Trashley, this is not your moment!)

Jude: yes, mom, I'm taking care of myself... yes, I have enough plasma packs... Oh, the investigation? I dropped that, it wasn't going anywhere...

A few metres ahead and without Jude noticing, Dorian's lips curled in a little smirk.

The conversation ended after they exchanged a few more gossips and Ciri told him about the latest aunt Cosima shenanigans and Jude promised to visit soon, when the simester finished.

He truly missed his family and he couldn't wait to see them again.

Jude was tired of drama and also sick of an investigation that was leading nowhere, so he decided to focus again in his classes and spend some time outside now that winter was coming to an end.

He still had to see Luzía and Apollo during Professor Goth's class but he was enduring it as well as he could, given the circumstances.

And, since Jude was Jude and he couldn't help himself, he also spent his time practicing his favourite hobby: spying on random townies on campus.

After a few seconds, Jude let out a sigh and nodded, looking down.

Jude: ok...

Once he was standing up again, Jude wasn't able to look Luzía in the eye. He felt hurt and stupid and so embarrassed, and he just wanted to go to his room and hide from the world.

Jude: sorry for kissing you, it won't happen again

Luzía: Jude, I know you don't want to hear it, but I promise you that you will understand soon

Jude: sure...

Luzía: Jude, please

Jude: I have to go

Before he could leave, Luzía spoke again.

Luzía: Jude, the cookies... the cookies are the key

But, ignoring her words, Jude said nothing and left.

Jude: ouch! What the hell!?

Oh, Luzía truly felt like shit after doing that.

When she caught sight of Jude's expression, lying on the floor, Luzía felt her heart breaking and she walked closer to help him up. Even if it hurt, she knew she deserved the way he was looking at her.

Jude: this is even more cruel than what Apollo did...

Luzía: Jude, I'm so sorry... please, let me help you, take my hand

All rational thoughts flew away, like all the times he was in Luzía's presence, and Jude walked them both towards the phone booth, pushing Luzía against it.

Jude felt different, a more daring and feral version of himself had seemed to take control and, when he stared down at Luzía, he knew she was feeling the same.

They wanted to devour each other.

Luzía: what are we doing?

Jude: what we should have done a long time ago...

Luzía let out a soft whine and Jude pressed his body closer in response.

Jude: Lu...

Luzía wanted him so much and she wanted to let herself go, but a thought appeared briefly inside her mind.

She thought of Apollo, and what he had told her the night of Forgotten Hollow.

"I couldn't let anything happen with Jude because he has not found out yet, it would have been unfair"

So that was why, fighting against her feelings and her instincts, Luzía pushed Jude away from her, making him fall.

They were getting closer and their voices were getting louder and louder while Jude's frustration kept growing.

Jude: focus!? What are you talking about!?

Luzía: you think it's easy for us, not being able to tell you anything and having to wait until you find out by yourself!?

Not actually listening to her words, Jude let out a humorless laugh and Luzía growled again when she heard it.

Jude: oh, poor Luzía and Apollo! Do you also think about me while you fuck?

Luzía: you have no idea, you idiot! And if you took your head out of your ass and realized what we feel then-

Luzía couldn't finish her sentence.

Jude, reaching his limit not only because of his vampiric instincts going haywire but also due to his frustration and his hurt feelings, had let his last bit of restraint go.

The moment he pressed his lips against Luzía's, it was like his chest exploded with fireworks and Jude felt his anger turning into a completely different thing, better but still dangerous.

They separated.

Luzía: Jude...

Jude: sorry...

Shaking her head, Luzía got closer again and, this time, she was the one kissing him.

Luzía: that's the only thing you care about? You have been ignoring us for days and that's the only thing you decide to ask me?

Jude: well, sorry for thinking it's important that my two best friends have been snogging behind my back and making fun of me!

Luzía: snogging!? Making fun of you!? Jude...

Jude: didn't Apollo tell you about his little cruel number the other night?

Luzía: oh, Jude, you have no idea-

Those words made Jude explode.

Jude: not you too! I'm so sick of everyone telling me that! Oh, poor dumb little Jude, he knows nothing, let's laugh while we keep secrets from him!

Luzía, who had stayed calm until that moment, reacted to his aggresiveness with a growl that sounded nearly animal-like.

Luzía: don't speak to me like that, Jude Legacy! No one is making fun of you and maybe you should focus for once!

That was why, when Luzía continued walking, Jude turned around and went after her.

Jude: why didn't you tell me?

Luzía stopped in her tracks.

Luzía: what?

Luzía turned towards him and Jude felt his "fight or flight" instincts kicking in, but he ignored it because he knew Luzía wasn't danger, despite the way her eyes were throwing daggers at him.

Luzía: repeat the question, Jude

Jude gulped but obeyed; he had already opened his mouth and there was no going back.

Jude: why didn't you tell me Apollo and you were together?

It had been a great day for Jude, but it turned sour as soon as he reached his dorm and caught sight of Luzía, who has fixing her outfit like she was ready to go out.

In the distance, their eyes met and Jude cursed under his breath while he saw the way Luzía's expression changed.

It had been days since he last spoke to Luzía or Apollo and, even if he was having a really hard time, he didn't feel capable of being their friend.

It was the first time they were alone in the same place and Jude clenched his fists and started walking, with the full intent of ignoring her.

It seemed Luzía had the same idea and they walked with their eyes lowered, getting closer to each other.

Unfortunately for Jude, the moment they were right beside each other, Luzía turned and stared directly at him.

She didn't say a single word, but her eyes said enough for her and Jude felt his determination faltering.
