Some Random Facts about the Outsiders

AKA, the significant others of the Loft Kids

Delia Simpson-Smythe

Her mother Charlotte is the most awful person ever, subjecting Delia to near-constant belittlement.

When Delia was 21, her father Frederick divorced Charlotte because he had fallen in love with another man. Delia loves her father and stood by him, and now spends time with Frederick and his husband Harry whenever she’s in England.  

Delia is very anti-smoking; her first fight with Joey was after discovering he occasionally smoked.

Joey believes she is a real-life Disney Princess.  

She was incredibly shy growing up and into adulthood, but has become much more confident in herself.  She still giggles a lot, though.

Colin Wilkes

He grew up in a Catholic orphanage in Gotham. At the age of ten, he was subjected to experiments by Scarecrow that allowed him to morph into a super-strong, indestructible adult.  Known as Abuse, Colin protected other children and met Damian during his Robin days.

The experiments, however, soon backfired and Colin faced dying before he turned eighteen, slowly being poisoned by the compound Scarecrow had given him.  When Wayne Enterprises couldn’t help, Stark Industries stepped in--but really, it was Shuri using Wakandan science that saved Colin’s life.

He had a huge crush on Maria for years and finally worked up the guts to tell her how he felt.

Is one of the few people that Damian will listen to, no matter what.

Works as a child and adolescent counselor.

His biological parents are Natasha Romanoff and Bucky Barnes.

Katherine Lawrence

Kath followed in her father’s footsteps: Franklin Lawrence is a famous music producer. But since she didn’t want to trade on his success, she’s working her way up and is now a music publicist--which is how she met Jamie.

Her mother Josefina has incredibly high standards that Kath has struggled to live up to, until Kath realized she didn’t have to.

Loves food and loves to bake; has been known to make noises while eating that cause Jamie to need a moment in his bunk.

Is incredibly good at her job, because she knows how to make rock stars happy while also not letting them walk all over her. 

Damian Wayne

Son of Bruce Wayne (Batman) and Talia al Ghul (member of the League of Assassins/right hand to her evil father, Ra’s al Ghul), Damian’s upbringing was … interesting.

Is a staunch vegetarian and owns his own farm, where animals including an elderly Batcow roam.

Runs the eastern division of Wayne Enterprises by day and is New York City’s Batman by night.

Dated Willow in high school but broke up with her when he left to begin his training as Batman.  Spent the next several years regretting this and eventually asked Willow if they could start dating again.

Is best friends with Joey Rogers, Colin Wilkes and Jon Kent--who all do their best to keep Damian’s ego in check. They are only partially successful.

A few random facts about the Loft Kids

Joey Rogers

He has one leg (well, two legs. One original, one Stark cybernetic).

He plays guitar, piano, a little violin, some drums, and sings.

He drinks coffee straight from the pot (just like Uncle Clint!)

He loves horror movies, haunted houses, the beach, football.

The phrase “it’s always the quiet ones” is eerily applicable.

Maria Stark

Maria has two great passions: biochemistry and yoga.

For someone with such a big shoe collection, she tries to get away with wearing them as little as possible.

Maria was a flower girl at her parents’ wedding when she was four.

She really is trying to stave off taking over Stark Industries for as long as she can. She knows that one day, it will be hers, and it’s a big responsibility, but she really wants to have as much fun as she can before then.

Jamie Winchester

The apple did not fall far from the apple pie tree. Jamie is probably what Dean would have been like with a loving family and no hunting.

Plays guitar, bass and sings.

Did not catch onto the idea that smart girls are attractive until he became an adult. Then never looked back.

Walking trash compactor.

Loves a good Rube Goldberg machine.

Willow Bartowski

She wishes she was more like her bad-ass spy mother, but has come to accept that she’s more like her dorky but intelligent father.

She dates a lot. She likes being in a relationship, but she doesn’t always have the best taste in men…Or women. She’s bisexual.

She collects and reads comic books.

She is an incredibly proficient spy.

How do we explain the Loft Kids?

Essentially, the Loft Kids are a group of fan-created (as well as canonical) characters (beaten to a pulp by @wonderlandleighleigh and @dettiot) whose parents are superheroes, spies, demon hunters, mutants, kings, billionaires, and other television, movie or comics characters. 

Basically, we’re using this tumblr page as a playground for this, because gifs, fanart and fic ideas are fun, and we are nothing if not self-indulgent as all hell.
