strange to remember that many people are not exposed the the shoah and the imagery of it as early as childhood and do not grow up seeing this and knowing that this happened, was allowed to happen, to you, and no one in the whole world did anything to stop or prevent it. and just live with that, just internalize that information as a normal part of your life.

As a Jew I wholeheartedly believe that, folks who are pretending nothing is wrong and Palestinians aren't being murdered every day would have absolutely ignored the Holocaust and let my folks get killed without blinking an eye.

Americans have a lot of heroic fantasies about what they would have done during the Holocaust or chattel slavery, and the answer for a lot of them is absolutely nothing. They would have complained about the people actually doing things for being too disruptive. We Jews did the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, and they would have called this terrorism. They would have also complained about MLK and Malcolm X, the former of which took the economies of entire cities hostage. Modern day disruptions don't hold a candle to historical disruptions.

In a two of more decades, people are going to use excuses like "I didn't know!" or pretend they were supportive all along, making tear jerking films about the Palestinian plight. We need to not let them do this.

Bigots in leftist communities are usually not infiltrators or invaders purposefully trying to undermine your movement; they're usually just leftists with bigoted ideals from living in a bigoted society.

Framing all instances of bigotry in your community as coming from "somewhere else", from fakers or far-right agents or whatever, just lets you ignore your own bigoted ideals, the bigoted behavior of your friends and the people you like and trust, and your own complicity in it all.

1. Growing up Jewish, I have been conditioned since birth to care about what Israel does as if I lived there. Y'all wanted me to care so bad, well now I do.

2. The people under genocide have called for a boycott and published a platform. Boycotts aren't just people individually deciding not to buy things. It's not "conscious consumerism" or whatever. It's a political tactic with specific demands.

3. I'm not even singling out Israel. Y'all should boycott Turkish goods in solidarity with the Kurdish calls to do so until the genocide of Kurds in Turkey and the Turkish proxy forces' occupation of northeastern Syria is ended. Especially since these Turkish proxies are far-right theocratic gangs that fund their terror by selling olives stolen from families who fled their homes and became IDPs when Turkey invaded Afrîn. Oh what's that? You didn't *actually* want to have to think about Middle Eastern politics in any substantive way? Sorry my bad. How about the Potawotamie lawsuit against the state of Michigan? They never called for a boycott of Michigan but they were close, and I would absolutely have boycotted Michigan.

No state has a "right to exist". The purpose of institutions is to serve human beings, and if your institution is slaughtering human beings en masse then it must be stopped. The survival of the institution itself in this scenario is of almost no import.
