Slander in the Workplace
These days with the presence of social media, it is easy to say everything that you wish to say on the internet. It is easy to make false statement against someone even to your coworker. With the influence of social media, the new beauty standards and the lifestyle, it's easy for us to feel a little insecure about ourselves.
These have turned most people into beasts who are too hungry for likes and validation, even in the workplace. This then, has triggered our insecurities even between our coworkers.
Back then, workplace drama has always been present but in today's world, there has been quite a twist to this kind of drama. With social media, it's easy for us to communicate our thoughts and with the freedom that this has given us, we are less afraid of the legal consequences of our action.
These days, we might not be aware that sometimes, we might already be committing slander. But again, since we have more freedom these days, we are not afraid to say whatever we want to say even if it hurts somebody's reputation.
At the end of the day, we just want everything that is good for ourselves even if it takes us to destroy someone and go against the law.

| soft mornings with ni-ki! ~ drabble
pairing: bf!niki x gn!reader
wc: 560
tw: mentions of food and i think that’s it!
a/n: this is my first drabble, so lmk what you think :p
you shifted a little in your sleep, still in your boyfriend’s embrace, turning around to face him and not the sunlight. you felt a hand slipping to the back of your head, gently caressing your hair. fluttering your eyes open, you meet riki’s endearing gaze, admiring you like you were the most precious jewel in the world.
— hmm, mornin’ — you mumbled still half asleep, smile plastered across your face.
— hey — he answered simply, still smiling and admiring your features.
— were you watching me sleep? creep… — you joked, now fully opening your eyes.
he chuckled lightly and hid his face in the crook of your neck
— you’re so pretty, can’t help it — he reasoned, voice muffled, and started tracing light chaste kisses along your neck.
it always amazed you how, even after dating for a while now, he still managed to make you feel like a billion butterflies were in your stomach.
— can we make pancakes for breakfast? — you asked a little embarrassed, thinking you kind of sounded like a toddler.
he chuckled lightly into your neck, holding you a little tighter, mumbling a soft “of course”.
after what felt like ages of attempting to get out of bed, you were both in the kitchen, trying to whip up a recipe of, hopefully edible, pancakes. niki was measuring the cups of flower, while you cracked a couple of eggs into a bowl.
— do we mix the wet ingredients into the dry ones, or the other way around? — he turned to you, with the bowl of flower in hand.
— i don’t know… let’s just guess and hope for the best? —you suggested and he laughed, predicting it wouldn’t quite work.
after mixing the milk, eggs and other wet ingredients together you look at riki and he had already finished making the dry mixture as well. you were going to put your mixture in his bowl, but he was ready to do the exact same with you. let’s just say you met halfway and it was… messy.
— NIKI! — you yelled in surprise, when you felt the flour covering your face, your feet now wet with the liquids that were on your bowl.
he looked at you in utter shock, but couldn’t hold in his laugh. you both somehow managed to only get flower on your face, riki was completely clean, and that was definitely a no for you. you approached his laughing figure and grabbed a handful of flour from his bowl, throwing it on his face. his mouth opened wide.
— oh this is war. — he stated.
you started running around the kitchen counter, giggling and trying to escape from him, he grabbed you by the waist and started tickling you. you were laughing so hard, that you didn’t even notice jay coming in the kitchen.
— i don’t EVEN want to know. — jay’s voice echoed from behind, making you two turn around and face him, holding in your laughter. he rolled his eyes and walked back to his room.
— we better clean this up before he gets mad — you said looking at your boyfriend.
— yeah — he leaned in and left a soft, long kiss on your lips, despite how dirty and gross you both were.
— STOP SMOOCHING AND START CLEANING — you heard jay again
— sorry! — you both said in unison, and laughed.
you two were definitely a handful, but undeniably cute :))
