DAISY EDGAR-JONES as NOA FRESH (2022)

I love Cheyenne’s final solo. She’s just found out she’s basically lost everything that was important to her because she’s so HER and she’s dancing to a song called ‘I Married Myself’, which the choreographer said was perfect for her, basically implying she can’t care for anyone else but herself, something she has been told time and again.
The choreography itself is so complex. It looks like an amalgamation of her pushing away the outside world, fighting with herself about that but also feeling so free when she is alone, basically her entire character summed up in one dance.
But she doesn’t want to be this way. She fights the choreographer every step of the way until Gael breaks it off with her, where she becomes resigned to fact that maybe this is who she is and just gets on with it. Then at the actual performance she’s also dealing with the whole losing the job/making Geneviève mad at her situation too, and she channels all that hurt and anger and desperation into the dance, just like she tells that girl in the episode before. But it’s not enough, and she finally verbalises her frustration with being the way she is to Jack.
Plus, you have the little interlude of Mishi and Timeo reconciling and showing that it is possible for someone whose life revolves around ballet to still have close relationships, it’s just not happening to Cheyenne.
The entire symbolism of this dance is just gorgeous and cruel at the same time.
Cheyenne Toussaint, you break my heart.

If I had known it was going to be Cheyenne, I would've done the entire piece differently.

“George and Anne Boleyn were an immensely attractive pair, intellectually and physically. Their world was a highly charged one, one in which the stakes were very high and alliances constantly shifting. In this atmosphere drama and reality merge, historical fact and fiction become impossible to separate. After the fall of the Boleyns, the court became a much less glamorous place — or at least it did until Anne’s daughter, ‘Gloriana’, found herself on the throne […]”

@catherinesboleyn asked: Catherine of Aragon or Anne Boleyn
“To us she appears inconsistent – religious yet aggressive, calculating yet emotional, with the light touch of the courtier yet the strong grip of the politician … A woman in her own right – taken on her own terms in a man’s world; a woman who mobilized her education, her style and her presence to outweigh the disadvantages of her sex.” - Eric Ives’ The Life and Death of Anne Boleyn

i have never fallen in love with a character quicker than i did with cheyenne. our first intro to her is jack's eyes of yearning awe as he imagines her dancing, then the entire board talking about her being the best dancer in the world, a national treasure, people come to the ballet just to see her etc etc. next thing we cut to is her screaming at eco-warriors to ram the boat of illegal fishermen, knocks someone twice her size overboard without effort, and is put in prison by her own people because she scares them so much. she's rude, selfish, a perfectionist, illogical, with no social graces, and I love her with my entire heart. she really does feel so strongly and its captivating to watch. I literally only kept watching the show because of her
