wishing there were more maveriques to genuinely inhabit the maverique tag

so here's a maverique post:

being maverique is wishing more people genuinely understood what nonbinary actually means and wishing that more people (including fellow nonbinary people) deconstructed the gender binary and discarded the idea of any aspect of gender identity/experience being able to fit neatly into boxes.

i have seen so many people, even nonbinary people, not understand that nonbinary is not synonymous with agender/genderlessness or not understand that nonbinary is both a gender identity in of itself and also an umbrella term encompassing many genders including bigender male-female genders. even in 2024 i continue to see people not understanding that certain pronouns don't equal certain genders nor certain perceived presentations.
